Chapter Eighty Three

Mercy was determined not to listen to Felix if he came to explain anything to her or to defend himself.

What would he say anyway? They had already said all they had to say to each other.

Mary was happy about what had happened and how she had shrewdly diverted the blame for her actions to Felix. She was not sorry for what had happened at all. She had merely killed two birds with a stone.

The first was that she had succeeded in separating Felix from her sister and hopefully, now Felix would have no option but to come after her since she doubted that her righteous sister would want to have anything to do with him anymore. Who better to console him but her - Mary?

She would have to play her cards right and get him to forgive her for framing him since she did it out of desperation to have him for herself. But if he still would not have anything to do with her then, fine and well because he would also not have her sister. She would make sure of that.
