Charm and Play Nice

The heirs stepped onto the docks and walked towards the busy streets that were filled with people.

There were vendors, shops, restaurants and taverns within their view but nobody had enough time to pay attention to those things.

What they were faced with by those nearby was the wary and cold stares from the people around them.

The Minks were very curious towards the humans who occupied the island but the humans did not feel the same way.

It was a natural reaction to look at the Minks like they were dangerous or weird looking.

The only information about the Minks could be found in more detailed books of the world and when they appeared in the news.

The most recent case of a Mink appearing was the wanted posters for the members of the Nox crew that was under the leadership of Pedro the jaguar Mink.

More knowledgeable people would have known more about the Minks and some of them would have known about them through the underworld.

Slave trade happened in many parts of the world and the value of a single Mink was at least over seven hundred thousand berries.

The heirs were warned of the dangers outside and they would be protected if something did happen so they could focus on the test but they did notice the looks from several humans.

Some more wary of the Minks whispered among themselves and pulled those they were with away.

Even if they were not racist towards the Minks, they still felt the need to protect those close to them when faced with some of the more scary looking Minks.

Pixel and those in her group were far less aggressive looking but the other heirs looked more intimidating with their sharp claws and teeth.

Felice who had better etiquette and knew how to make herself less threatening could not completely conceal everything about herself and her tiger appearance would scare many humans who saw her walking on the same street as them.

"News! Come and buy! Only one hundred berries!"

"Freshly caught fish for sale! One hundred and twenty berries!"

"Freshly grown cabbage for sale! Only one hundred and fifty berries!"

The presence of the Minks was soon drowned out by the busy marketplace and the ongoing trade near the port.

The Minks began to split up once they found an opportunity and Pixel lead her own group towards a young boy holding a bag full of rolled up papers.

The boy looked a little guarded towards her at first but Pixel showed a cute smile towards him before reaching into her bag. "How much?"

The boy's eyes became a little wider as he focussed on her smile for a moment unable to look away.

When he finally came to his senses, he blushed a little and replied in a nervous voice. "Ninety berries… no.. eight five berries.."

Pixel took out a hundred berry coin and placed it on the palm of his hand then received the rolled up paper. "Thank you but I can pay the full price."

She winked towards him and showed a cute smile once again before turning around and leaving.

The boy seemed to be caught in some kind of spell and stood watching her leave. "So cute…"

Pixel was able to make use of the charm and play nice moves to charm men and make others become more friendly to let them drop their vigilance against her.

At the age of thirteen, Pixel had grown to become very cute and had grown up in a noble family which had added to her natural charm.

It became a natural part of her overall cute appearance and aura that could be used when she wished to use it.

Conquerors Haki seemed to have some influence over it to improve the overall effects but those with a strong will would be able to resist it much more.

Those of the Mink tribe had a much stronger will than some of the races so they could not he so easily influenced.

If they were affected then it would wear off over a little time just like the effects of the Conquerors Haki being used to knock people unconscious or intimidate them.

It was not a permanent effect but it was still very useful for a variety of different uses.

If Pixel wanted to then she could have lowered the price even further than what the boy was asking for but chose to pay the full amount.

A boy working at a very young age would have his own troubles to deal with and paying him less than what his goods were worth would possibly put him into some trouble.

He fell for her cuteness in that moment but when it wore off, his reality would soon make him realise that he had failed to collect the correct amount of berries from her.

Even if Pixel was not fully aware of his home or work situation, she would not risk putting a child in danger.

One hundred berries was nothing compared to the one hundred and fifty thousand berries she had to spend.

Cleo had the exact same amount and had chosen to follow her so there was enough berries between them to support those around them for several days unless they went around spending recklessly or lost it.

The stacked papers were unrolled once Pixel, Cleo, Micah and the others had found a place to sit then she started to read. "Now that we are in the outside world.. it is best to know more about it."

In her hands was a newspaper and once it opened, a stack of posters fell down onto her the table they were sat at. 'Dead or alive? They really are more harsh on criminals in this world.'

Micah looked at them and gasped. 'If Team Rocket existed in this place then their members would not be able to get away with everything so easily.. I hope that those two have avoided causing trouble if they really are in this world like I am.'

The dead or alive bounty posters had let them realise how dangerous the world was for the law breakers and how their previous world dealt with criminals in a far different way to their present one.

The league and law enforcement always tried to subdue and arrest criminals from the criminal organisations but they rarely acted in a way to inflict harm or kill a criminal.

It was only in extreme cases where they could not handle a case themselves with their own manpower that they would release bounties for trainers to help provide information or assist to capture a wanted criminal but they never requested others or purposefully did any harm to those they captured unless it was absolutely necessary.

Pixel saw things from how she had lived and witnessed the Jenny family members doing all kinds of things to enforce the laws or protect wild Pokémon and those abandoned by their trainers.

Micah saw it from the point of view of a criminal who often evaded the Jenny family and the league as they moved around attempting to steal Pokémon and rare materials from others.
