Determination

Much further away from the island, the sea was far rougher and dangerous.

Each slight change of the weather could create a new danger to overcome.

A ship could be seen moving among the rough sea as the waves hit the ship knocking it off course at times.

Luckily it was a sturdy ship that would be unharmed in those conditions as it weathered the difficulties.

It was knocked off course several times but adjusted gradually to get back on its path.

Large clouds had formed overhead as massive surges of lightning came crashing down all of a sudden threatening to destroy the ship.

Just as everything seemed to look at its worst for the ship and those on it, a small figure could be seen high up on the highest point of the ship.

It was Pixel who had stood looking upward without any fear in her eyes.

A part of nature that threatened so many and would cause much death and destruction was looked at like it held no influence over her.

There was no hesitation in her movements as she leapt in front of the path of the lightning bolts that crashed down.

Her body moved between the lightning bolts and the the ship causing her to become the main target.

A strong attracting force was unleashed from within her body as the lightning nearby had made a sudden turn as it flashed towards her body.

Many bolts of lightning came from many angles and directions as they crashed into her small body.

It did not end as more came down from the clouds above and her whole body was hit again.

Pixel was only able to stay up in the air for so long before she dropped down and caught her tail on a part of the ship allowing her to launch herself back up.

From that short time that she was sending herself back up, her appearance seemed unharmed and the only things that seemed to be damaged at all were her clothes.

Instead of showing any kind of discomfort or pain, she had a look on her face which showed her excitement and delight. 'Ah this is so addicting!'

The surges of energy that passed through her only served to heighten her own power as the Lightning Rod ability of hers helped to draw in more lightning and to increase her range of Electro capabilities.

Any energy used up that had not already been gained back had been replenished through her actions of taking on the bolts of lightning and it further helped her to increase the amount of Electro she possessed.

The lightning became a source of energy that her body needed to further develop her Electro abilities so she did not wish to waste such an opportunity.

Those beneath her were in danger so she would be the one to handle it while she would be able to develop her Electro further.

Pixel saw the need to increase her power further after facing such things.

She believed that she had already done more than enough and that she was already progressing quickly enough but she had found out that she alone could not protect everyone unless she had far more power than what she currently had.

In order to pull off certain strategies to overcome others, it had taken a lot of her stamina and Electro to be able to pull off such a large attack leaving her with less options and power available.

If the enemy had been stronger and resilient then using such a tactic may not have been successful and may have put her in a more vulnerable position.

Her enemies were mostly other Minks who were adults and trained for killing so it was understandable that she would face difficulties overcoming so many of them without having such tactics available even if she possessed Haki.

Protecting others around her was even more difficult when confronting enemies who were at such a level of power or higher so she was even more motivated to improve herself.

Her Haki and physical abilities would be more difficult to grow but her Electro was one thing she could work more on in the present so that she would be able to release more Electro attacks and not tire out as quickly.

Pixel was not the only one who had felt their weaknesses and were motivated to improve themselves after experiencing something like that.

Many of them had been faced with the reality that they had to run away and were of little help to the overall situation.

It made so many of them realise that despite their efforts over the years, they were still relying on Pixel when it was supposed to be them that were to be supporting her.

Harley looked towards the sky where Pixel was taking on the lightning strikes and her eyes glowed with determination. 'I need to be stronger…'

The long katana on her waist was held tightly in one hand as the other gripped the hilt.

She started to pull out the katana from its sheath as she started practicing her quick drawing technique followed by several slashes.

Each of her movements were fast and deadly as she deepened her focus towards practicing her techniques in order to no longer feel useless.

Misty was busy looking over the treatment of Felice but had come out to see the sight too for a short moment so she went back inside with her own feelings of helplessness and determination to improve herself.

Liquorice had felt the same feelings as she had come to realise that she needed to work so much harder if she was going to be a help to Pixel in the future. 'We cannot bring her down..'

She recognised that Pixel was very talented and that it would be difficult to become a strong support for her but she was more than willing to put in the hard work even if it meant she would be less of a burden in the future.

The clouds started to clear after the ship had sailed for some time and Pixel had taken many hits for the ship allowing it to emerge unscathed.

It continued to move towards the direction of the Vivre Card that guided them back home until a large shadowed figure could be seen off in the distance.
