Preparation of the empress

( Rosanna's thoughts: Its been a week since I arrived in this world. This world is very hard to understand. As the daughter of duke I have access to the largest library in this nation but it's difficult to understand everything without witnesses of the real thing. Since Rosanna is the lady of the duchy she received education on high society, etiquette and history of the nation but it is not enough to survive in this world. I will have to learn the politics, finance and business management. For me to receive the title of empress I will have to understand foreign trades as well as have linkage to foreign ministers. I will have to form a large indestructible image so no one can break me down. For now let's meet our father..it's been a while after the breakfast hasn't it?)

Anne: lady it seems you have a plan in your mind don't you?

Rosanna: Anne, tell me how long do I have before my coming of age ceremony.

Anne: Its 8 months left now.

Rosanna: Oh.. it seems I don't have lot of time for the preparation. I want to request an audience with the duke. Anne send my request.

Anne: yes my lady.

( after a while in the dukes office/study)

Rosanna: May you be blessed by the holy spirits. Greetings my lord.

Duke: Greetings Rosanna. Why did you request my audience. Please sit down and have some tea first.

Rosanna: Thank you my lord.

Duke: (still she is not calling me father) so how have you been nowadays. I found out that you are looking for you right hand ladies.

Rosanna: Yes my lord you heard correct. I want to have ladies with influence by my side. I cannot risk my family name.

Duke: you seem to have grown up a lot. (Tea arrives)

Rosanna: I can't always remain a kid now can I..

Duke: (She is more mature now, I will have to help her grow up..she is my child after all) state you purpose now Rosanna.

Rosanna: As I am the daughter of duke I can't only have knowledge of the higher society..father (here is what you wanted to hear..you can't deny my request now can u.) I wish to learn politics, finance management and business studies FATHER.

Duke: But the ladies of the house are not required for the politics and business Rosanna. How can I let you work out.

Rosanna: Father.. (sad voice) you already know how lonely I am after my mother passed away.. and I have lost a lot of my pride because of having a step mother. Please father I want to maintain my status in the high society. You have to help me otherwise they will look down on me and father it's what I wish for. You also know well about my fiancé..he is said to be a beast.. I want to be able to at least protect my self.

Duke:( how can I deny her request if she address me in such way) okay I will listen to u for now but I will have to allocate you with a Knight of your own.

Rosanna: ( here comes what I was aiming for) A knight.. Will I be able to choose whom I want as the knight..

Duke: if u wish you can choose a knight but he must be the strongest.

Rosanna: Okay father.. I will live up to you expectations.

Duke: now please excuse me

Rosanna: I have a last request father if you could hear it.

Duke: yes tell me what it is.

Rosanna: Can you please keep my studying business a secret.

Duke: why is that so.

Rosanna: I don't want fingers pointing at me..

Duke: okay as you wish. (It would be better if she kept it a secret till her coming of age cause I can't trust the duchess. She is a dreadful women.)

Rosanna: May you exceed the boundaries of horizon.

Duke: You are excused.

(After a while in the Rosanna's room, Anne is changing the bed sheets to plain white with red laces and curtains to darker shade of red as Rosanna requested.)

Anne: What did you talked about with the duke lady?

Rosanna: Just requested a knight for my protection. (You think I will tell you what I talked about you fool.)

Anne: But you would have been assigned with your knight before your coming of age.

Rosanna: I just simply wanted to choose my own knight..as you see I am quite a romantic.(Romantic_ my foot I never even dated any one in my 28 yrs of lifetime such a waste of time.)

Anne: Yeah...choosing one of those handsome man to be by your side always is a very Romantic experience. (Blushing)

Rosanna: I should visit the knights training ground.. I have never visited that estate yet. (Anne is not trustworthy. Even if she is not reporting me to the duchess, she can always change besides I will be discarding her very soon.) Anne report this message to the duchess that the lady is choosing her knight.

Anne: Ohh I see. As you wish young lady. I will tell the maids to prepare your dress for the visit as well.

Rosanna: The dress shall be innocent yet pretty I shall look the very best.

Rosanna thoughts: (I already have a person whom I will be choosing as my knight. He became the head knight of the imperial family and protect the main lead because of his talents in sword and magic. But he always respected Rosanna cause she was the lady of the house he grew up in. He is still only 17 but he is full of potential. He is even feared by the maids and the other knights because of how mercy less he is when slaughtering animals and perhaps humans.)
