Chapter 9 - Got the Evidence

"Welcome to the mission, my child. Your misery is waiting for you" Uncle Jayanath stood up and walked towards me.

"Uncle" I ran into him. I had tons of things to tell him. But Nah… I kept my silence. No one could replace my dad.

My dad was the only person I could be free to release my inner feelings. He was the only one who believed me and understood me.

The only thing he never understood was why I loved to be his heir.

"Uncle, how was your journey? Had a safe flight?" I ignored his hug being my old self, Mischievous Sanjay.

"hahaha… of course, why not huh… How about you then? A new destination, new dress code, new lifestyle… huh"

"You thought that I was enjoying myself here? C'mon uncle, you are dumb as always." I made a distorted face to annoy him.

" I know it, my child. That's why I came here on my first chance." He patted my head while trying to make me calm.

"what brings you here?" I was so impatient.

" well… give me one minute."

He turned into his main subordinate and within a few seconds, a tablet was offered to him.

"Just have a look at those videos Sanjay. The first one is a CCTV recording from your dad's warehouse. On that day, all the CCTV have destructed and only one hidden CCTV was left there. This is a recording from it."

It was just a CCTV recording of my dad's warehouse until a few strangers were stalking here and there. Yeah… those sh*theads were outsiders for sure.

I couldn't recognize those faces although I was in charge of the personal files of all my dad's subordinates. I did that duty just to make sure of his own security.

But nahh… who are those f*cking outsiders?

"I couldn't remember those f*cking faces, uncle. They are not my dad's." I aimed his dull eyes at once.

"That's the point Sanjay. Exactly… they are not your dad's."

"Then how they got there. How could they pass the main entrance? How could they walk like that? Look at it uncle, those bastards are walking so freely."

"Muda's fault"

"What? How? My dad never brought outsiders to his warehouse"

"From that day, they weren't outsiders anymore… your dad recruited them"

"What? Without informing me?

"Yeah… your dad's poor heart… huh… perhaps he'd felt like those were his last days"

I looked at that f*cking bastard with my whole soul and for a second, I just wanted to smack his face on the table.

" What? I was real… your dad was too strange on his last day. It was like…. he kinda knew something. I mean… you know…"

" Just keep straight uncle… What do you have to tell me?" I was so impatient.

Of course, I too felt something odd, however, I didn't expect too much. He ignored me, making me emotional, and the only thing I did was focus on my own mission to make him satisfied.

"Well, if you need to know, he was too upset the last days. He worried about you, and your future and acted like someone who had been betrayed.," Jayanath sighed and wiped a tear off his eye.

"So he knew… that great betrayal. The person who backstabbed him" I felt like all of my blood was boiling inside my head. That boiling hot blood was compiled in my head and heart to burn me inside. I just wanted to blow all the things on the table.

Well… if I was old Sanjay, I may… but I was trained not to. I clenched my fist and hold my tear within the eyes.

"Ok… ok… back to the topic… huh…"

Maybe uncle Jayanath had felt my discomfort. He knew that I was not a person who spit my feelings out so easily.

"Here, look at this, my son. I searched for these people and nothing could find until I was searching their flight history. All these men have flown to Thailand about fifteen years ago and have never returned."

"You mean they've arrived from sea??? Fisher boats?"

"Or maybe from weapon trading boats" his words made me eager.

"What… no way uncle you know that weapons monopoly is ours.

"And the betrayer was also in our clan."

Silly me, I didn't realize that. Ohhh f*ck.

What's going on here… Ahhhh… trust is a dangerous game. I don't know who to trust anymore.

"What happened then?"

"I checked for their behavior in Thailand and found three clans in which they had worked"

"Three clans? How could they change their master so often? That's unbelievable, uncle"

"That is something you should find Sanjay… and I'll give you one more clue…"

I gazed at him with my full concentrated mentality.

"There is a person that had connections with them… and you know what? He is from our country."

"Keep going, uncle"

"Here, this is the person. Just look at him. Is he familiar?"

"Mmmh.. No uncle. I couldn't remember this f*cking face." I knew almost all faces related to underworld but nahh… this face was so unfamiliar.

"Yeah, Sanjay. I think he is a hidden character to the Sri Lankan underworld. In my opinion, he is more popular in the Thai underworld."

"Mmmh.."

"This person had arrived in Sri Lanka two weeks before the warehouse incident and had met the same people five times at the exact same venue."

"Who are they? Uncle"

"Look at those next pictures, Sanjay. Always same vehicles with different number plates."

"Mmmh"

It was a very simple, yet old two cars probably 20-30 years old. If those people had something to do with my dad's murder, yeah they might be avoiding the unwanted attention.

"Have you found them?" I directed him.

"Not yet. I ordered my people about it, to find this car and CCTV footage of that venue. It'll take a few more days."

Just two days after Muda's death, that person returned to Thailand. Here, is a profile of him but all the data may not be correct as I couldn't confirm them all."

I opened the file. All of his personal information was there with some photos. Just like a cv for a job.

"Your job is to find his acts and whereabouts in this country and the clan he belongs. And then we will be able to find the mastermind."

I clenched my fist. Only that thought was enough to make me disturbed and the whole world seemed empty. I will find you, bastard. I'll find you no matter what it takes, how long it takes. I will find you despite who you are.
