Bait

"Oh, hello Adrin! I am good, how are you? And whe-"

"Don't you have some other work, or have you forgotten the fact that you are not allowed in the school premises when the girls are present, nor is your presence allowed in the direction of the girl's dormitories.

Then what the hell do you think you are doing here?"

Nora's voice was interrupted by David's roar, and his sudden appearance and the annoyance in voice was enough to alert both of them, but for different reasons.

Where Adrin knew that leaving the place quietly was his only option, Nora turned towards him and demanded in tone of partial surprise and annoyance.

"Do you really think that you own this place?"

David's reply was non- hesitant and immediate;

"I don't think so, Princess! I actually do own this place!"

"Really? Then why are you so paranoid about the competition, and so desperate that you almost wanted to kill me?"

Nora spoke out the rest of her sentence in her normal tone, but she managed to lower her volume while mentioning David's wish of killing her.

In spite of what had happened, she did not want to let anybody know about yesterday's events, and get David into any problem. She did not want anyone to get in any problem because of her, but while considering all of this, she forgot to take account of Adrin, who had quietly left the place the moment they had started their cold war.

And the moment she sealed her lips after completing her sentence and looked into David's brown eyes, he grabbed her by her shoulders and roared out in a husky whisper,

"Do you really think that I want to kill you? This is what you think about me… right? Then remember, I have already warned you not to challenge my strength. But if you are not understanding this in simple terms, then let me show you the record- breaking performance of your life, which you will never forget."

Saying this, he tossed her away from himself, making her take two steps backwards and left the place without saying anything further. However, the seed of suspicion was already planted in her heart.

And with that scared heart of hers, she headed towards the class that was supposed to teach her about Administrative Appeal.

She knew Ryan was the Class President for that class, and being her senior, it was him who was going to take her class today. He had already informed her by sending a student, and told her to take her time coming to the class. He had notified her that he would also be managing the attendance on behalf of Professor Radcliffe, who was on leave because of some personal reasons.

Nevertheless, she was excited for the class and hence wanted to reach as soon as possible. After this brief explosion in the hallway, she was in no mood to go to the class, but she had to.

Dragging her feet, she somehow managed to reach the class and was about to enter the room, when she felt a tug at her hand and was dragged into the gap of a dark corner beside the classroom, which was used as an unofficial store room as this class was situated at the last corner of the academic building.

"Hel-"

"Shhh! Nora, it's me!"

Before she could shout for help, Ryan whispered and made her acquainted with his presence.

"Umm… mmmummm-"

"Oh! My bad ! I am sorry."

He said, removing his hand from her mouth and trusting her to speak at a normal volume.

"Ryan! What are you doing here? Weren't you supposed to take the class, and why are we here? What if someone saw us-"

"Shhh! Nora ! Has anyone told you that unlike your eyes, your lips are quite good at asking questions?"

"Huh?"

A smile appeared on Ryan's face, as he saw the expressions on Nora's visage changing from interrogation to confusion.

"Nevermind! Yes, I was supposed to take the class and I was taking the class. I have Akra given class work to the students, but you don't worry about it, I have the answer key for you.

And secondly, I was worried for you and was waiting for your arrival, when I noticed you were looking a little tense.

Hence I am here to ask you, what happened? And don't you dare to lie to me, because I am not going to leave you alone till you tell me the truthhh-"

His words got little stretched out, as Nora suddenly hugged him.

"Thank you, thank you for helping me in everything, every situation and I know what you have done yesterday. Thank you is a very small word for it, but I still want to thank you-"

"Oh, dear ! You never have to say thank you to me… remember, I told you this?"

Saying this, he took the opportunity to hug her back and pull her closer to himself. After giving it a beat, he whispered in her right ear;

"Now be a good girl and tell me, why were you looking tense? I am your friend right, and there should be no secrets between friends…?"

"Yes."

She spoke in a low voice, trying to pull away from the hug, as she felt a little discomfort in his embrace, which she blamed the claustrophobic structure of the room for.

But she just heard another statement egging her on,

"Then tell me?"

"Actually David and I got into a little dispute again, while I was heading for the class."

"Oh, okay. Don't worry about it, and I think now it's time you should go to the class."

He quickly let her go and stepped away from the hug. He nudged her towards the door, adding;

"I will be coming in five minutes, so that no one will have any doubts regarding us being here; and yes! Take these with you, these are the answer keys."

Nora took the answer keys and headed towards the classroom. Within seconds, she had disappeared from Ryan's sight, and this was when a smirk appeared on his face as he murmured to himself.

"So finally, David has taken my bait and soon, everyone is going to know your reality Nora. Bye bye Princess! Enjoy your remaining time in the school."
