(A/N: 2 chapters cause I got contracted today, Woohooo~)
The sun rises from the east once more as its rays pierce through Long Ren's windows and hit his closed eyes.
Feeling the gaze the sun gave off, Long Ren woke up, rather unhappily even though he had slept for 10 hours. He got up and readied himself for his maybe month-long journey.
He would need to see how hard it is to climb the mountains and adjust his plans from there, but for now, breakfast.
For breakfast, he took out some fish porridge with a side of pitan eggs from his storage rings.
It is but one of the many varieties of foods he kept inside. What a convenient and advanced refrigerator this storage ring is, keeping his food warm for him.
After finishing his breakfast and leaving the dishes outdoor (like in a hotel where the employees take care of the dishes u ordered), he changed into a cultivator robe specifically made for him.
It isn't really a robe, but more so a t-shirt and jeans with its design following the clan's cultivator robes.
One thing he felt weird about is those robes. How are you going to fight efficiently when those long robes only give you disadvantages.
Imagine the tip of your robe gets pulled, you'd fall down, stabbed, and finally, ded.
So, He asked the clan's HR department to custom-made this for him. (A/N: ok, I wanna call it the fashion department, but it's not rly, so, deal with HR xD)
He got weird stares for it, but they complied anyway due to his status. Other people's stares had long become something Long Ren just by default shrugged off nowadays. He got used to them surprisingly fast.
With all things prepped and done, Long Ren left his home for his second journey, onwards to Mountain Carp Peaks!
…
'First of all, information gathering.' Long Ren thought to himself after reaching the clan's center pagoda.
Although Xing Lao told him the mountain is right behind the clan, he does not even know where the behind is.
For all he knows, the clan could be facing east, meaning he needs to go west. Better not leave it up to chance and went south blindly.
Inside the pagoda, other than the mission and registration center he had been to before, there are also other various centers, one of them being the information center.
It is the place where clan members can receive information for just about anything.
Internal structures, and facilities, external enemies, further mission details, all these for free, though, some classified pieces of information are locked by either status, money or both.
After queuing a not-so-long line, Long Ren's turn finally arrived. He directly asks for every available information about Mountain Carp Peaks.
In conclusion, what Long Ren learned is that Mountain Carp Peaks consists of several mountain peaks, and every one of them hosts a mountain carp pond, hence the name.
It has a total of 9 mountain peaks in it, and each of them has been carefully cultivated by the clan to have varying difficulty.
It acts as a private training ground for their cultivators against magical beasts. One just need to buy an admission ticket to train there.
The difficulty ratings are as follows:
Mountain number one : Rank 1-3
Mountain number two : Rank 4-6
Mountain number thre e : Rank 7-10
Mountain number four : Earth Realm 1st-2nd Layer
Mountain number five : Earth Realm 3rd-4th Layer
Mountain number six : Earth Realm 5th-6th Layer
Mountain number seven : Earth Realm 7th Layer
Mountain number eight : Earth Realm 8th Layer
Mountain number nine : Earth Realm 9th Layer
Of course, the difficulties are just an estimation, a guideline on where to test your limits.
For example, mountain number three, though is for ranks 7-10, could be explored by a group of rank 6s.
The ranks just indicates that a rank 7 cultivator can go into the mountain without being in any danger, but can still find some challenges.
Of course, that is if the rank 7 cultivator doesn't charge straight into the center of the mountain like a dumbass, by then, no one could be blamed for his/her death but him/herself.
As a precaution though, the lower level mountains are covered in a protection array that protects anyone with an admission token whenever their life is in danger.
Though this may make one complacent due to the backing net, it's still better than the off chance of randomly losing a potential powerhouse due to carelessness or other stupid reason.
Besides, the array won't activate unless the holder's life is completely at the edge of the cliff, literally and figuratively.
So, at the very least, some phycological trauma will follow them, and they will learn their lesson.
What if they break? Well, if one breaks, nine will come out stronger, so in the grand scheme of things, it's a W. Besides, they have [Clear Mind] pill for that.
Finally, somewhere at the top of each mountain resides a corresponding rank Mountain Carp pond, filled with large amounts of delicious mountain carps.
They act as an end goal, so to say, just so cultivators have even more drive to reach the top.
A good system, if Long Ren must say.
After reading through the rest of the details provided in the report, such as what kind of beasts resides, how high each mountain reaches, and interesting spots on each of the mountains, Long Ren is ready to decide on his mountain of choice.
Mountain Number 2, for rank 4 to 6 cultivators.
Long Ren is confident of his combat capabilities, at least against humans. He is confident on takoing out a rank 5 cultivator easily with his maneuverability and unorthodox skills. Maybe even with a weaker rank 6.
But, what he will be hunting later are magical beasts, very different from humans, dumber, yet sometimes stronger.
He will need to analyze their movements from the very scratch.
Humans have the same starting point. They generally have the same joints, same muscle structure, and same mold, but beasts, all of them, are unique.
Or, he could just read their information thoroughly from the report, but that would only stunt his growth.
With his thoughts and goals sorted out, he bought an admission token and head towards Mountain Carp Peak, Mountain number 2!
