"Hmm…" Long Ren leaned forward at the comfy couch and brooded for a while. His chin rested on his intertwined hands, looking down at the public crowd.
"This gets boring after a while huh," he said, releasing his brooding mood and laying back relaxedly on the couch.
Yun Ning giggled seeing his expression formed by a mix of boredom and dissatisfaction.
Long Ren had gotten bored of overbidding ever since the 7th item. He just kept doing it to see what happened.
None of the other bidders showed massive reactions like Old Man Ale did, they just bore him a lot.
They just don't have the guts to complain. At least show it in your expression people!
"What did you expect? The novelty wears off after the first time," Yun Ning said.
"Maybe…" Long Ren mumbled. He agreed with Yun Ning, maybe he only enjoyed acting as a young master for the novelty.
After that, it just became boring, unless something extremely fun happened, which hadn't happened.
"At least you had fun for a while,"
"Mn," He nodded. Old Man Ale did provide him some fun at the cost of his mental health, but it's fine~.
After that, he kept bidding on items when they almost reached their peak price. If the bidder shows something fun, he'll continue, if not, he'll stop.
Unfortunately, he didn't get to have any fun.

"Our 18th item, [Tale's Discovery]. An item to backtrack a cultivator's steps, up to 5 hours time! A unique time-related artifact found on a tomb!
Bid starts at 1 diamond with increments of 100 golds!" Yue'er exclaimed especially loud this time.
A 1 diamond starting bid! For this auction house, it indicates that the real auction items will now be coming out.
The crowd murmured even louder as they felt the rush of the real auction, where genuine bid wars often happen.
Where high-level members of prominent clans clashed to secure the most benefits! Prime real-time entertainment!
Not only does everyone from the public crowd feels ecstatic, but long ren does too.
He couldn't help but be brought along by the enthusiastic crowd.
As usual, the crowd began to bid against each other, with some of the VIPs joining in as well. In the end, they slowed down when it reached above 10 diamonds.
No one seemed to bid anymore as a VIP in the crowd held the highest bid of 7 diamonds and 400 golds. Yue'er began to repeat the bid, noticing no more activity, and soon closed it.
…
Several more items passed by with most of them reaching 10 diamonds and above.
Most of the public crowd had stopped participating completely as even the starting bid went way over their budget.
long ren stopped his fun as well, seeing as there are no more reasons to.
Not because he was afraid of the VIPs, but rather because they are either sitting below him or in a private room, meaning he won't see any of their reactions whatsoever.
Tch, no fun…
Anyway! Soon, Yue'er reached the 25th item, something long ren had been genuinely waiting for.
"Our 25th item for today! A unique Space-attribute artifact that boost a Sky Realm cultivator's Spatial efficiency by 5% and Earth Realm by up to 50%, [Andromeda's Opal]!" She exclaimed.
Her hand wandered over the podium as a small silver bracelet lay on a small soft red pillow.
Its silver ring matched well with the dark-blue gem embedded in the middle.
The dark-blue gem shone upon the stage's light. Its surface looked glossy yet exude a depth like no other. As if a whisper beckoned the public crowd's eyes to look deeper and deeper…
long ren felt the attraction as well, a bit more even as he saw the spatial elements dancing around the bracelet.
If there was any doubt on the value of the bracelet before, then it was immediately gone now. He coveted it greatly. Though, not only him, as another VIP thought so too.

Inside room 11 sat three figures. All but one wore prominent and lavish clothes, embroidered with extensive yet pleasing decorations. They jingle ever so slightly at the smallest movement.
Two of them are male, one of older age while the other looks about 20-ish. The other figure is a small cat-like creature sleeping in the middle of them, enjoying the fluffy couch as well.
"Hopefully no one is interested in this, This is the only space-related artifact I could find recently." The young man said with a bit of a hopeful tone.
His right hand petted the small cat as it purred ever so slowly. It cuddled onto itself a bit more and ignored the petting it was given.
"Whatever," The old male said. His slightly wrinkled face then snorted, "I can't believe you'd spend this much on a random common cultivator,"
The young man smiled wryly, knowing his act is a bit unusual, yet still said, "It's fine isn't it? This costs us barely anything,"
"And yet it is something she would only ever dream of. Act like your status, young man!" The older man harrumphed, almost berated even.
The young man couldn't say anything as he himself knew it was unbecoming of him to do such a thing, helping commoners.
He wanted to defend himself, yet he kept taking his words back as he felt shameful.
"No matter, this will be your last parting gift. Should I ever encounter such blasphemy once more, I will revoke your rights!" He said, his voice, stern as a sturdy pearl.
The young man looked unwilling. His gaze downwards and teeth gritted yet he reluctantly let out, "Yes father,".
He turned his gaze back towards the center stage, not wanting to see his father for a moment. He just can't accept what he was forbidden to do.
He stared at the small dark-blue pearl sitting at the podium, his gaze looking melancholy, 'At least I can help you for one last time…'
The young man grabbed the bid runestone, clenching it tight as he immediately bids 15 diamonds before Yue'er could even state the starting bid.
The whole auction house felt dumbfounded by his actions. Immediately doing so is plainly disrespectful, but he couldn't care less right now.
Yue'er, though a bit surprised, quickly calmed herself and called his bid. This isn't the first time this has happened, and it won't be the last.
Rash, unbridled young master's bidding extensively is a customer they will always welcome.
The crowd was still surprised as Yue'er called his bid for the second time. A VIP upped the bid by one diamond only to be taken down the very next second,
"Private room 11 bids 20 diamonds!" She exclaimed,
Finally, the crowd began to slowly regain their composure, gathering amongst themselves and discussing the situation
…
10 seconds passed as no one seemed to bid anymore. Everyone clearly knew of the message room 11 tried to deliver and the item isn't essential enough for them to fight a VIP for.
Yue'er called his bid for the second time as he readied himself to pay.
He wanted to just get this over with, as the longer he loomed on the thought of leaving her, the more depressed he will be.
But, just as he reached the door, he heard Yue'er exclaim, "Room 15 bids 21 diamonds!",
…
'This fucker…', The young man thought. He clenched his grasp hard on the door, almost breaking it.
