Chapter 24
"How are you able to control a griffin?", he asks, glaring at me.
"I don't.", I simply put it.
"Bull!", he screams.
"It's not, but whatever.", I say.
"Who in their right mind wouldn't want to control a griffin?", he says.
"Griffins are free, by controlling them, they're not.", I state.
"Don't be stupid, you control griffin. People worship and fear you.", he says with a smirk.
"You're stupider than you look.", I murmured out.
"What did you say! A king needs people to fear and worship them!", he snaps.
"That is not a true ruler!", I state.
"Oh, please, I'm bet-"
"No, it's not 'oh, please, I'm better than you', you don't seem to realize that having people fear you will lead your 'people' to go against you.", I say, interrupting him.
"How dare you interrupt me.", he growls out.
Tiring of his voice, I say, "No one can be king or queen unless they're from the Hybrida-Moon bloodline." "I'm tired and I have school today. I would like to have some sleep.", I sat right after. Next thing I know I'm in my room, changing, then bedding.
"Mama! Wake up.", Jess says.
"Give me a few more minutes.", I mumble.
"No, mama; you promised.", she says, whining.
"Alright, I'm getting up.", I say while softly pushing her off me.
Sitting up, I look at her and give her a kiss before she runs off. Quickly getting changed so she doesn't come back; making my way to the living room, where Jess and Maya are waiting. Watching them talk, I head to the front door with them following; once we get to the cafeteria, Maya heads towards our friends while Jess heads over to Mr. Sapping., while I continue to walk to the seat next to Silvia. Before I could get a word out, she spoke.
"Morning Raina."
"Morning Silvia, anything new.", I answer back.
"Well, I've had Mr. Jagger be a teacher here but the griffin will watch him.", she tells me.
"Oh, what will he be teaching?", I asked.
"He'll only be teaching fourth years. I figured since he enjoys thinking he's the king of vampires, then he should know the history of the vampire wars.", she says with a smirk.
She is my second favorite person; laughing at the evil glint she had in her eye when she was telling me that. She hands me a plate with food on it, which I thank her, and begins eating as I take notice Jess was rushing.
"Jess, the park isn't going anywhere.", I say.
Which gets her to slow down on her eating; sensing Molly, I glance up from under my eyelashes; I notice a shadow lurking around her, so lifting my head up, I realize that it's the shadow beings, so I wave. They wave back, smiling. I go back to eating while Jess makes her way over to them; watching as they bow to her, which makes her confused, but she doesn't dwell on it because she didn't want to be near Molly, so she quickly makes her way back to Mr. Sapping.
"Hello?", a voice says.
"Yes?", I asked.
"Are you Raina?", they ask.
"Yes, and who may you be?", I answer, then ask.
"We're the shadow beings you helped.", they answer.
"Oh, I never got your names.", I say.
"I'm Walter."
"And I'm Hunter.", they answer.
"So who's watching Molly?", I ask.
"Hunter is.", Walter says.
"Gotta, can I know why?", I say, then ask.
"We're watching her because she's a threat to your daughter and yourself.", Hunter explains.
"Thank you for watching her.", I say.
"Not a problem, but pay attention, the headmistress is trying to get your attention.", Walter says.
Closing the link from them, I face Silvia and see that she was trying to get my attention, rubbing the back of my neck. I mumbled an apology, but she just shook her head and said it was no problem.
"I was just going to say have fun at the park.", she says.
"Oh, how did you know?", I am curious.
"Mr. Sapping told me, he said to change to a meeting for another day so you could spend time with your daughter before things got too stressful for yourself.", she explains.
Nodding my head, I get up just as Jess comes skipping towards me, smiling. I give her a look that says, 'ready to go?', which she nods her head. Waving bye to Silva, we made our way to the park when we got there- there were a few other people here. They stared at us as we walked into the park; picking up a few of their conversations they were having about us.

Watching their eyes go wide once they realized I can understand them before looking away, smirking to myself. We continued to walk until we got to an area with few people; I sat down on the bench and Jess stood right in front of me, smiling at her, but quickly stopped once I saw the look on her face.
"Mama, what did they say to make you growl?", she asks innocently.
Knowing I wouldn't be able to get her mind off it, so I answered her, "They said, 'What is a half-ling doing here with a hybrid?' 'Girl, I don't even know.' while I said, ' Why don't you mind your own business.'"
"But sweetie, you don't have to worry about them. They can say whatever they want I'll get sass back.", I say.
"Okay!", she says happily, running off to play.
Side glaring at the two women as they come over to me; holding the urge to kick their asses. Once they sat next to me was when I really had to bite and stare at my daughter so I wouldn't wing it as they began talking.
