CHAPTER 36

  A Dangerous Life

  [Armon’s POV]

I stared out at the bright moon beginning to rise over the endless ocean ahead. Since I was young, I had always enjoyed coming to the beach and staring out into nothing as the sound of waves crashing against the shore calmed me. It was a place of refuge for me, and up until this point, I had never brought anyone here with me.

Looking over, I took in Moyra as she allowed all her senses to take everything in. Since arriving, she had remained quiet, and I found myself becoming increasingly interested in what she was thinking. Was she regretting coming with me and wishing she was still with Eli, or was she uncomfortable in any way? Would she suddenly snap out of whatever wild hair she had and leave my side?

"You keep staring." She finally pointed out, giving me a small smile. "Don’t you know that staring is rude?"

  "Can’t help it." I admitted.
