Ryland
Gracie and I were in the living room along with all the photos and letters, sitting on the table simply waiting for my mother to get home. I was pacing the length of the living room as I was feeling mad at my mom, despite all my efforts not to be.
“Ryland, will you please come and sit down with me” Gracie whispered, “You need to calm down”
“Sorry,” I sighed, going to sit down next to her.
Gracie placed her hand on my knee, calming me down instantly. I was hoping I wouldn’t lose it with my mom, since she doesn’t really deserve it, but then again, Gracie and I didn’t deserve to have been lied to either.
A few moments later, we heard the front door open.
“Hello, I am home,” she called out.
“Mom, can you please come into the living room We need to talk,” I called back.
My mom came rushing through, a worried look on her face as she looked between us.
“Is everything OK God, are you pregnant” she asked.
