CHAPTER 146

  Ryland

I arrived home, finding Gracie in our bedroom, studying away, dressed in only my tee. She had her head down, books and notepads everywhere, her laptop in front of her. She was completely lost in it — so much so, she didn’t even realize I was home.

I chuckled quietly to myself, standing by the door, watching her. She had a pen in her mouth and one in her messy hair. She looked adorably sexy. I sneaked over to the bed, wondering how long it would take her to notice I was here. I reached the bottom of the bed and was about to speak, but something caught my eye. I spotted slight bruising on both wrists, and they were in the shape of fingerprints.

“Gracie, what are those on your wrist Why does it look like someone hurt you” her head shot up, and panic took over her face.

“It is nothing,” she blurted out, trying to hide them.
