I am not cheap!

Maxwell pushed her away as he got up but her towel had entangled with his belt buckle.

"What's wrong?" Ava asked him. He gave her that cold and murderous look which made her swallow her saliva so hard as she felt shrills run down her spine. She felt so stupid and realized what had just happened. He loosened it and got away from her. Maxwell rearranged his dressing and stood at the door with his back against her.

"Hurry and put something on. I need to leave now!" He coldly said to her as she stared at him while sitting on the bed. She got up and wore a long gown. When she was done, she cleared her throat to attract his attention then lead the way out. She saw him off to the door and he left without saying a word to her. Ava also felt embarrassed to say anything to him too as she watched him drive away without him looking at her.

"You are so stupid! Stupid! Stupid girl are you! How could you? How could you let him kiss you? Gosh…only heaven knows what he must be thinking of me now. He may think I'm such a cheap slut. How stupid was I?" Ava cursed herself as she pushed herself with dragged and angry feet to her room as she loudly spoke to herself.

She fell on the bed heavily on her back.

"Come to think of it, that was my first kiss…how did I let such happen? Why was I so loose to him? I hate you Ava, I hate myself!" She fought within her as she spoke loudly while rolling from side to side on her bed and throwing pillows away.

She grabbed a pillow and screamed into it when she realized it was mid night. She stopped screaming and started to mutter unknown words to herself. She felt so embarrassed. She couldn't stop thinking of how she let a strange man steal her first kiss just like that which made her angry with herself. She bites her lips, his taste was still on them.

Ava starts to think of how he pressed his lips against hers as she smiled. Just few minutes ago, she was thinking of tasting those lips of his and now, she has tasted them!

She hugged her pillow tightly and fell asleep. The next morning, she got awake by the knock on the door. Who was it again that don't want to let her have a good and peaceful sleep? Could it be Maxwell again? Oh no! Thoughts of him made her opened her eyes wide and she got up.

"I'm going to give him a piece of my mind. He should know that I am not cheap and I won't have him insult me again!" Ava said to herself and with that, she headed for the door. The person was still knocking and she pulled the door open after turning on the lock.

"I am not cheap and what happened was a mistake! Don't give me that cold face be…" Ava started to rant as she thought it was Maxwell. She looked at him as she supposed he was the one at the door when she saw her sister looking at her with a confused and questioning look. Her eyes squinted in as she gave her that kind of is- something- wrong- with- you look with her head and hand.

"Hello? You and who? Who are you talking to? Julie asked Ava as she was confused. Ava squeezed her knuckles as she stopped talking.

"Never mind. Come in." Ava replied embarrassed. Her sister got in and they sat down on the sofa.

"You seem tired. Your eyes looks dull…didn't you get enough sleep last night?" Julie asked her younger sister.

"Not really…I was up waiting for you." Ava lied. She didn't want to bring up the issue of Maxwell.

"Why were you waiting for me? You should have gone to bed." Julie replied back as she pulled out a small pillow from underneath her and rested her hands on them.

"Well how was I supposed to know that you won't be coming home last night?" Ava was glad that the topic was changed.

"Oh about that. I went to visit Mark and he asked me to sleep over. I wanted to put a call through to you but I ran out of card and he was out of battery. How was work yesterday? I met with Austin and he asked me to greet you." Julie explained to her sister.

"Oh. He dropped me off yesterday after work." Ava replied without knowing her reply was going to pop up more questions from her sister.

"Really? Tell me something, what's going on between you and your boss? Is he interested in you?" Julie asked Ava as she looked at her.

"What no! Why would you say such a thing? He is my boss and nothing else." Ava replied.

"Come on babe! He dropped you off last night and he is asking after you this early morning…isn't it clear enough that he is interested in you? I'm sure that he was the last person you saw last night." Julie cajoled as she looked at Ava with the corner of her eyes to see her reaction.

"He wasn't." Ava replied nonchalantly.

"Who was it? Wait….that look…are you seeing someone?" Julie teased Ava as she noticed how relaxed she was and noticed her cheeks turned pink.

"Stop it please! I'm not seeing anyone! At least not after what Jasper did to me." Ava snapped at her sister as she got up.

"I'm just kidding…" Julie said to her, making her to come back.

"Look babe, it's high time you let go of that jerk and start a new life. That guy is not worth you, let him go and move on! There are many guys out there and I mean many that not just want you but needs you. It's time to let go and I can find you a guy if you want. You remember Jason? That my friend that saw you at the Ella's birthday party…" Julie engaged her in a discussion.

"What about him?" Ava asked her not interested in what she was about to say.

"He is interested in you. He said he likes you and is even asking me about you. Can I fix a date for the both of you?" Julie excitedly asked her sister as she watched her with interest.
