Chapter 33 Barbarian Race

The rich aroma of grease enveloped the arena.

At the edge of the arena, Kreya was grilling a whole lamb on a rack.

How could one embark on an adventure in a different world without wielding some impressive barbecue skills?

It's been almost three years since Kane transmigrated, and although he was adept at eating in his previous life, his culinary skills were only limited to home-cooked meals.

He had gained some confidence in his barbecue technique during his hunting and training in the Laka Forest.

Originally, he intended to showcase his skills to Kreya, but she mentioned she had a bit of research in culinary skills.

After tasting a skewer of meat she had grilled, Kane honestly abandoned the idea of interfering with logistics.

What was I even grilling?

Since Kreya required a considerable amount of food for each meal, she even had a space equipment specifically designed for preserving ingredients.

Thus, Kane could only assist by handling some of the ingredients beside her.

Time flew by in an instant.

After Kane ate a roasted duck, Kreya had already devoured a young lamb.

Playing with clay, he waited for her to finish eating.

After a while, Kreya finally had her fill.

She packed up the surrounding trash and tossed it into space equipment.

Kane asked Kreya, who was tidying up, "Ready? We need to prepare to enter the next level."

"Mm," Kreya nodded.

The so-called entry into the next level didn't involve any movement from Kane.

The noise from the stands became rowdy, like an audience entering.

Waiting for the surroundings to quiet down.

The crystal hourglass ascended, and the bell rang out.

The competition commenced.

The first wave was still the monsters, which determined the theme of this level — weak but iconic.

However, this time, the monster that appeared first didn't look weak at all from its appearance.

A human-like figure, two meters tall and resembling a massive silhouette, materialized.

With abundant hair, clad in a beast robe, wielding dual axes as a barbarian warrior.

Kane first shot an arrow, trying to discern if it was just for show.

The sinister transparent arrow was finally perceived when it was about to hit.

But at such a close range, there was no chance to dodge; the barbarian warrior could only try to avoid vital areas.

Ultimately, he missed the deadly strike, ending up with a bloody hole on his shoulder, as blood spurted out with the arrow's disappearance.

Though the barbarian warrior avoided Kane's deadly strike, he could only see his toes when he regained his senses.

When the arrow was shot, Kreya wasn't idle.

By the time he dodged the arrows with effort, a longsword was already across his neck.

After eliminating the first monster, Kreya returned to her position, waiting for the next wave.

The twilight glided down slowly.

This time, there was merely an extra monster.

The two barbarian warriors didn't even qualify to make them sweat.

Combat was quickly resolved.

The third wave came with three barbarian warriors.

Both Kane and Kreya were capable of significant single-target damage but didn't have much in terms of area damage.

This allowed the goblins in the second level to leverage their numbers and place Kane and Kreya in a somewhat troublesome situation.

The theme for this level was quite apparent; it was quality over quantity monsters.

It only took one attack to kill a goblin, and with the barbarian warriors, it merely required an additional strike. However, goblins would appear in dozens, while barbarian warriors appeared in fewer numbers.

Unexpectedly easy.

As the three monsters fell, the third wave was declared over.

Kreya took a sip of water next to Kane.

This time, only one monster was materialized.

"Be careful; this one seems not easy," Kane cautioned.

This time, a barbarian warrior emerged instead of a barbarian warrior.

Compared to the barbarian warrior, he had additional iron gear and a wolf head shoulder armor on one side.

Black tattoos adorned his face, wielding a single long axe in his hand.

Suddenly, he swung his left hand, using the arm armor to strike away the transparent arrow shot by Kane.

"His combat instincts are decent," Kreya remarked before charging toward the barbarian warrior with her war axe, 'Father's Glory'.

Seeing her interest, Kane refrained from interfering, merely clearing the arena for her.

Kreya's charge, accompanied by her powerful impact, aimed the massive axe at the barbarian warrior.

The barbarian warrior swung his axe horizontally, attempting to block, yet he was still forced back several steps.

Kreya wouldn't give him a chance to adjust his posture, continuously swinging the war axe towards him.

The barbarian warrior, battered backward, could only muster all his strength in defense against her strikes. Once his defense faltered.

That would be a farewell.

Kreya suddenly changed tactics, switching from striking to smashing; the abrupt transition caught the barbarian warrior off guard.

The barbarian warrior was sent flying by Kreya's strike, the two-meter-tall figure was thrashed into the air.

Watching beside her, Kane felt his blood boil; the attack method was too brutal, each punch landed solidly.

Not exactly a man's thing.

The moment the barbarian warrior landed, he didn't have time to defend himself before Kreya's axe brought him down.

Kreya's expression indicated her dissatisfaction with this match.

As Kreya approached, Kane commented, "Nicely done, the strength and technique were unreachable for me."

Kreya responded with a smile, "If my strength and technique weren't strong, how could I hold the enemy in battle for you?"

Kane chuckled, choosing not to speak further.

Silently gazing at the sky's hourglass, waiting for the next wave of enemy.

The sand of the hourglass gradually settled through the opening.

Finally, the last grains left.

In the arena, Kane and Kreya slowly applied red medicine to their bodies.

As the enemy increased in number, some hits landed on them inevitably.

However, they were merely minor wounds, and as the red medicine took effect, these wounds quickly scabbed.

In less than three hours, these wounds would heal.

Red medicine is remarkable for minor external injuries.

The final monster began to materialize.

Still resembling the attire and physique of a barbarian, yet he wore nothing but a beast skin skirt.

His exposed upper body was covered in black totem tattoos.

Based on the previous barbarians' strength, it was evident; the more tattoos, the stronger the power.

This final monster boasted tattoos all over; even from the exposed soles of his feet, his strength could be seen.

A totem warrior of the barbarian race.

With a casual tilt of his head, he easily dodged Kane's arrow.

Wielding two axes, he charged directly at Kane, targeting the archer first.

Kreya wouldn't let him trouble Kane; she instantly slashed at him with her axe.

He lifted an axe and blocked Kreya's attack.

Then used force to deflect the war axe.

Kreya felt that the totem warrior's strength exceeded hers.

A strand of spider silk flew over, tightly binding one of the totem warrior's hands.

But he merely yanked forcefully, snapping the spider silk.

Then raised his dual axes, intending to eliminate the obstructing Kreya first.

Kane quickly drew a full bow, firing three continuous arrows.

The arrival of the three arrows forced the totem warrior to withdraw his axes to defend against Kane's attack.

Kreya took advantage of this opportunity, stepped back to adjust her posture for the next strike.
