Chapter 2: The Little Town And The People

Talking about nuisances...

The sound of jingling bells erupts throughout the otherwise noiseless sanctuary. Clacking of plastic soles against the hardwood floor get louder with each step, as a tall figure appears infront of the seemingly occupied pair.

"Am I interrupting something?" enquires the newly arrived man in a curious yet monotonous voice.

Cliché.

"Maybe." [Y/N] responds before anyone. Both men a little shocked, at her boldness. A smirk emerges on Cyril's lips thanks to [Y/N]'s response.

"Yes, absolutely you are! Now, if you would kindly leave us."Cyril declares harshly, gaining confidence after [Y/N]'s statement.

Cyril's attention now diverted towards the inky-black haired man, [Y/N] sneakily decides to get out of his hold.

Disappointed, the brunette gives the ravenette a look of annoyance.

Lips pursed and eyes crinkled in hostility.

The noir-eyed mans expressions however remain unchanged.

-

"So, Zen. What can I help you with?" [Y/N] finally questions the mans motives.

"I need the manuscript that wa-"

"I'm assuming it's a really important manuscript, huh? Seeing how you couldn't even wait 5 more minutes." Cyril interrupts before Zen could finish his sentence.

"Yes."

"And even if it is something really important, what would you even do with it at this time?"

"... answering your questions is really not my job."

"Showing up here is also not really your job."

"Well... who knows... neither is it yours, I'm pretty sure."

"Stop it, both of you." An amused glint coats [Y/N]'s face before she breaks into a hearty laughter. The entire exchange quite comedic to her.

Cyril can't help but let out a chuckle thanks to her contagious laugh. Even Zen cracks a little smile seeing her joyous expression.

-

"Here you go. Hope I didn't forget to include anything. Let me know, if it's missing something." [Y/N] carefully hands Zen the item.

Cyril quietly watches the interaction between the two with an irritated expression, as he clicks his tongue.

The usually lively and level-headed man, now having an abnormally irritable temper. Not because of [Y/N], of course not. But rather because of the bothersome little pest, that repeatedly keeps getting in his way.

-

Finally finishing another weirdly hectic day of work, a sigh of relief leaves past [Y/N]'s lips.

She was supposed to end day an hour earlier but closing up the shop took more time than she realized. At least she was able to sent the two gentlemen back on their way, before any of them could start quarreling again.

At long last she can get a little bit of rest. After taking a cold shower and changing into more comfortable clothes, sleep catches up to her the moment her body lands on the king sized bed.

-

[Y/N] moved to this town 5 months ago, after purchasing a tiny two story cottage, the one she currently resides in.

She actually bought the quaint little cottage almost a year ago but with all the needed renovations and all the legal paperworks, it took a little over half a year to be able to finally move in. The upper level being her living area and the lower floor being her little bookstore.

The day she finally moved in and opened up her shop, almost everyone from the town came to visit and greet her with mountains of presents. Bouquets of various flowers, boxes full of sweets & other delicacies, heaps of decorations among countless other things filled her entire home.

Needless to say [Y/N] was very overwhelmed at first but over the course of last couple of months, she formed some strong bonds with many of them. Cyril and Zen being two of them.

It's a close-knit community of very loving and welcoming people because of which she immediately felt at home.

Now she has a place to call her own with people who genuinely seem to care about her.
