A New Home

Lilly had pity for Jason because of the way he was dragged into the other military vehicle like a thief. She kept wondering what he must have done to make them treat him in that way and, from that moment on, the name of the little boy and the thoughts of him remained in her heart.

"Do not worry Jason, everything is going to be just fine." Dolly whispered in his ears to encourage him, because she noticed he was beginning to feel lonely and emotionally depressed as time went on.

"How is that going to be, Dolly? He took everything from me and the way he looked at you, tells me that he would take you away too in a short time." He whined quietly in a way that made her know surely that his strength was failing and his courage had been submerged by fear.

"That is not true, Jason. He may have taken that baby from you which is to your advantage, but do not let him take away the bold heart I believe is in you." She muttered to motivate him and to ensure he did not turn that whimpering tone of his into tears, regardless.

"Be quiet back there!" One of the soldiers exclaimed because he was being disturbed by their continued chat based on the fact they were sitting in the back of a private car belonging to him.

"Okay." He sniffled in response to what Dolly had said and rubbed the thumb of his right hand against his nose.

They drove a long mile away from the previous location where they would have been executed for no crime at all and came to a reserved facility which looked like a school premises and like a prison but was neither a school premises or such as it seemed. It was a reserved facility for a community of people who would be rendering services of all kinds under the government of Zod: a facility set aside to nurture people to become skilled laborers for the purpose of creating more wealth for the tyrannic governor, in the city of Azkaban.

"Get out, move it, move it!" a man in his late forties ranted harshly in his husky-like voice the minute he opened the door of the car they arrived with to have them come out quickly.

"Billy, you have to mark these two specially. I can't help but believe they are special to his excellency!" exclaimed the soldier who had before now shut them up from conversing.

"Yes sir. Move it, you brat!" Billy nodded and turned to continue scolding them to make them hasten up. He pushed Jason while disregarding the old woman who was with the little boy on his right as they went in. Jason did not bother worrying over the way he was being treated, he rather focused on studying the environment than paying attention to the man whom he had quickly memorized his name. The facility was fenced as far as they could see, with barbwire and had a very large expanse of land with no walls to it. A population of about two thousand people were seen walking on the fields and had a lot to do with their time and nobody ever bothered them, even though some police men were seen patrolling about the community.

"This is a cool place to learn all you need to learn, boy." Dolly whispered, slightly bent to ensure Jason heard what she had to say to him while they kept on walking in the direction Billy led them. He did not reply because he felt she was right and the place was not even like an enslaved place, rather was considered to be just another city to live in. Houses were seen everywhere and they both felt a little more relieved when the handcuffs were taken off their hands.

"This is going to be your new home and here I am your instructor and your house captain. You will do whatever I say and whenever I say it. Have I made myself clear?" Billy yelled, having his two hands on the belt head around his waist while standing there at the threshold of a bungalow painted white. At this point in time, Jason was neither afraid of anything, he did not even see Billy's yelling to be a threat to him, he simply nodded and took his eyes off to look at those hanging around who stood to look at them as they came to the front door of the white bungalow.

"New friends." A teenage guy muttered in the hearing of his friend as he ignored the scene and walked away with the same friend of his who immediately replied, saying, "yea, fresh meat indeed."

Jason turned again to look at Billy, who kept standing by the door with a slightly frowny face, waiting for him to go in.

"Come on, after me, Jason" Dolly shrilled to get his attention, for she had already stepped inside the building but turned her neck around to notice that he was still standing outside the door.

"So, it is Jason, huh!" Billy said in a husky tone, bringing his face down to take a close look at the little boy who was on his way into the building. Jason had this obnoxious look on his face when he looked back at Billy, on his way in, which made Billy take his eyes off him sooner than expected and look at the people hanging around the premises who had stopped by to look at them. "What are you all looking at? Get back to work!" He shrilled to give a sharp reprimand for their awkward attitude.

His eyes turned wet but he tried his best to not let it rain down his cheek while listening to all that she was saying, "…I kept running but the pain did not cease until I started eating your cupcake. Jack, I am afraid if he catches me, he will kill me before I open my mouth to say a word, just the way he killed my brother when I heard the gunshot!" Sarah's soft childish voice vibrated while she explained her story and how she got to the refugee camp.

"Jack, who is this and where are the cakes you said you bought for Frida and Maria?" a lady's voice echoed angrily from behind them in a way that got Sarah frightened. She turned her neck around, almost sinking in fear as her heart throbbed with feelings of guilt because she ate the two cupcakes and was still having the empty cups in both hands.
