Barging In

The latest set of evidences came inside his room. Prince is prosecuting a domestic violent case that has been going on for a few months now. Several of the prosecutors wanted a case different from what Prince had accustomed into. He was taking the risks, in case picking up a side note to help them with his father's side appeal.

In a month, he'd be able to gather enough evidence after a while.

Prince had to steer clear of any boundaries if ever Lara and Tin comes in the way.

He has a lot of questions rumbling inside. Who was the person who threw that boomerang right on the balcony door when the night's all peaceful? This would add to the threat he received every time he tried to defend his father and Bryce's father.

Lara and Tin were existing puppets of Tim Espino, the former president of Vasterian Republic.

Ian Gomez is a victim of the injustice. He's the legal adviser, and yet, the one who should be punished was the president, not him. Ian wouldn't be able to retaliate if the highest person in the country by then testified that it's all Ian and Nathan's wrongdoings when they're still under his administration.

Lara and Tin got paid, too. They're on Espino's side. They know how to play the words, and they're able to make the crowd believe they're saying the truth. If only Ian could drop all of the evidences that Tim coerced him to cover up his mud tracks, then, that would be easy.

But in court, if you falsify evidences based on the amount of wealth you put on the scale, you'll be in probation already. The one who meant to repent for their mistake gone off out of the prison, and the innocent will stand behind the bars.

The chances fell short, and the judges sided with the evil. With Zion Cortez's funeral dated before the day of his father's last hearing, he got a lot of insults that day. Even Nathan Fajardo got bombarded with their words, felt like echoing inside their minds, and unknown to escape.

Since then, when Prince turned 9, he watched clips, watched the hearings, and the flow of the trials. Even Tim Espino's sneers irritated him too much. The judges who presided and ruled the verdict all have their eyes on Espino's truth.

But… as a protector of the law now, Prince doesn't see any truth in it.

He had to find out the truth. Prince had to make them jump out of their caves once the appeal made it to the national television. For sure, his wife and Tim Espino would gather all of their men to spread false information online about Prince and Bryce's life along with their fathers.

If Zion Cortez, Avery's and Aria's father, have the truth before he got assassinated, then, Prince would forgive their family, too. But as Lara and Tin used the tool to gain Tim's favor over the trial that day, Prince resorted not to let his anger dipped away.

"This is all the evidences you need, Mr. Gomez. I'll retrieve some tomorrow, if there's anything else," the legal affairs officer went out of his office. Prince closed the door. He hitched his breath, knowing this would be a long reading once again.

He was about to start working when somebody crashed to the door, and knocked three times. Prince had known it would be Bryce, and no one would barge inside his office for no reason. He reached for the door, opened it, and before he react, a fist landed on his jaw.

Prince staggered back a few inches, surprised by the sudden blow, and even held the side of his face. His sleep isn't complete at all, that's why it got him dizzy. Besides, Prince isn't in the mood to fight with someone. It's their work, and his mind activated his prosecutor's brain cells.

He huff some breath, hissing, and wiped the corner of his mouth.

Bryce slammed the door. He doesn't have anything to say. Instead, he'd show the evidence.

Prince stared at him, gritting his teeth, knowing this might take a while to come up with a solution to get rid of his rage. Bryce scrambled in his cell phone, breathing infuriatedly, "You thought you can get away from this, huh? I used the feature you have on the application. I can finally hear everything, Prince."

It's a common thing, a mistake that isn't a threat to the plan. Bryce had been that clueless to some detail, blinded by the false protection he wanted to do with Aria under Prince's premises. Unfortunately, Prince doesn't have anything to offer.

"Don't make everything straight when it's curly, Bryce. You thought that Aria would seek your comfort when you beat her up?"

Bryce threw his cell phone at the couch. It was enough to trigger all of the curses inside her mind and say it to him. Bryce ran, speeding through, and held his collar. Prince's mouth was bleeding, but his colleague doesn't want for it to stop. Bryce wished he'd die…. a bloody death like what he had done to Avery.

"Bryce, what are you---"

Bryce held onto his tie, and Prince lifted his head back unknowingly. The passage of his airway was too tight. Bryce had knocked off that narrow way by clamping too tight. He wanted to punch him repeatedly, but Prince was fast.

He grasped his wrists, pulled it away from his coat, and twisted it. Prince doesn't have enough time to explain and kicked Bryce in his abdomen, defending himself from ruining his composure. Bryce grunted as Prince kicked his back. He even punched him one-time on the face, single out a kick once again.

He doesn't have time to retaliate when Prince outgrown his strength. Even so, he hit the vital spots.

"Ow!" Bryce screamed. He rolled to the floor, and found his back at the edge of the wall.

He still had a lot of work in his hands, but here is Bryce, getting all whining about a single kiss he made to Aria. Prince doesn't want to explain it over and over again, that it was all part of the plan to get along with Aria's comfort.

Bryce's body ached with pain, but he's able to recover right away. He must be used to fistfights after Prince trained him. Bryce pushed himself up, gasping for air, and sat down on the wall, looking up at Prince.

"I was hesitating at first to do that, Bryce. You must have heard all of the words I say to him. But just so you know, Aria doesn't even know that we're working on each other to get her killed! I don't even know why I had to hire a man like you! You're carried away by the emotions stirring inside you!" Prince pointed out.

His finger even lay to his chest, but it doesn't stop Bryce for being sarcastic.

"Why are you even laughing when the matter isn't funny at all?"

Bryce glared, "Do you think I'll believe that nonsense? That you don't feel anything while kissing her?"
