$1,200! News of Charlie's generous donor spread quickly.
When Emma heard about it, she paused her own stream and went to check out what was going on. At the moment, Charlie was still broadcasting live.
"What? Who was that?" Emma asked. "They must be loaded to donate so much."
Their onscreen conversation was drawing the attention of the other people watching the stream. George took a look and saw that the new commenter was indeed the Emma that Neil had mentioned.
"Why is she here?" He wondered.
"I think the donor is someone called Daniel," Neil typed.
Another message popped up from Emma. "You got someone to give you a gift of $1,200? Charlie, you're pretty good."
On camera, Charlie forced a smile, but didn't reply. Getting no response, Emma got ready to restart her own broadcast. But in her stream she found that no one was feeling generous with their gifts. She clicked back through Charlie's feed. "Charlie, why are you only singing? Didn't you say we're going to show off something more. You've done it before," she commented. She knew exactly what she was doing.
Other commenters started chiming in. "Yeah, Charlie, what else can you show us? A bit of dew on a pure flower. Everyone, come and take a look at the pure flower's petals."
Word seemed to be spreading. The stream was attracting more and more viewers. Charlie replied anxiously. "I didn't. I really don't... I'm really just singing."
"Come on, give us a show, Charlie." Emma taunted.
"Yeah. We want to see you show some skin. Take off your clothes." The cheering and taunting comments kept coming, angering Charlie to the point of crying.
At this moment, George felt that the woman called Emma had overdone it.
A private message popped up for him. "Hey, mysterious donor. I'm Emma. Do you want to watch my live broadcast?"
And George replied, "No. I just like listening to Charlie singing."
"But this is better than that song. I guarantee that you'll want to see it." Emma was doing her best to recommend herself.
George wanted to just ignore her, but he was angry on Charlie's behalf. Seeing her in tears, he felt upset. He looked at the chat log and rolled his eyes before typing his response. "But I like listening to songs. How about you sing for me?"
"What's so good about that bitch singing. It's not as good as my body. Come on, don't you want to see?"
"No. So you won't sing for me? Fine. I'll stick with Charlie's stream."
"Come on, what's so special about her. She would never show anything. Come and see me if you really want a fun time." But he didn't reply to her again. She gave up and went back to her own stream again.
Meanwhile, George posted in the main chat for Charlie's broadcast again, "Charlie is just singing. She's never done or suggested anything more. Please don't listen to Emma's nonsense. I can confirm this."
There was an immediate response. "Who are you? Why should we believe what you say?"
"If you don't believe me, go ask Emma." George typed quickly.
"Who do you think you are? If you want us to go, we'll go. But wouldn't that be pretty embarrassing." Someone replied.
George raised his eyebrows and sent his reply, "Go to Emma's stream for $80 each."
"What the hell? Someone's paying out $80 to watch Emma's live broadcast? Hell, if someone wants to throw money around, I'll go."
"Dude, someone's paying people, paid for a live broadcast of Emma, $80 each to watch Emma's stream. Who does that? This is so awesome." Neil shouted out clapping with excitement.
Before long, Emma's live broadcast was full of people. She thought that she was going to get lucky. So she called out happily. "Welcome to Emma's live broadcast. If you like what you see, please feel free to tip." What surprised Emma the most was that even that mysterious donor seemed to have showed up. If he was feeling generous still, she could make a killing.
George typed a comment in the feed. "You should admit to everyone that you slandered Charlie, that she was only singing and would never expose herself."
Emma's expression changed drastically. "Daniel, what are you talking about? Why are you doing this to me?" She pretended to be weak and delicate, her face full of grief.
The sympathy of the other viewers was peaked. "Hey, don't push it too far. Isn't it just a bit of money. What's the point of bullying a woman?"
"That's right. Emma's telling the truth. Why do you have to try and embarrass a girl like that?"
"Emma, don't be afraid. We'll protect you."
"I'll give you $20 to admit it," George started to raise the stakes.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Emma was secretly happy to see everyone speaking up for her, but she didn't want to offend Daniel either.
George made his next offer, "$50, or if you won't admit it, no money and I'm leaving." Seeing Emma's worry, George smirked.
"Don't go Daniel. It's going to be a good show like I promised, but you need to pay a deposit first." Emma said slightly. A payment registered on her screen. She shouted excitedly. "Daniel, you're so good. I love you so much."
Neil was the first to respond in the comments. "What the hell? Is this Emma a whore? Just a moment ago, she was afraid of him. But now she loves him to death."
Seeing Emma's beaming face, everyone suddenly came to a realization.
George knew it was the right moment. "Who cares that you say you love me? What I want is for you to admit that you lied about Charlie."
"All right. Yes. I lied. Don't worry. Charlie didn't do anything dodgy on camera. And she didn't ever say she was going to. She was really just singing. I was just joking. Please, don't take it seriously." Emma said.
"Didn't you take the joke a bit far." Some of the viewers began to doubt the sincerity of Emma's words. "She's not joking. She clearly did it on purpose."
"She was jealous of Charlie getting a big donation from a viewer. So she slandered her." Someone else was seeing the truth.
Emma's face started to turn red as the comments kept pouring in. "So, that's how it is. Emma will happily screw over another woman just to try and get her hands on some money."
"Daniel. I'm sorry. We were wrong about you just now."
"Daniel, who are you? Tell us your real names so we can at least leave this as friends."
George was satisfied that Charlie's innocence had been proven. Without typing another word. He logged off, closed his eyes and fell asleep.
