Chapter 1

Her eyes almost droop. Due to her tiredness, she couldn't stay focused on her work. She couldn't count how many times she yawns at work. There's too much part-time work.

Since she has problems with her money, she has to find a lot of part-time jobs. She didn't realize her boss was watching her from afar. This is not the first time customer has always complained about her.

"Daisy." Her boss firmly called.

"Y--Yes?" She clears her throat and fixes her apron.

"Come with me." He gestures to her with his pointed finger to follow him.

Daisy mentally cursed. She should have slapped herself if she fell asleep. She follows her boss to his office. The door slowly shut close and she stood there awkwardly.

Her boss looked at her unimpressed. From that, she knows she's in trouble. "Can I know why I'm here, boss?" Daisy asks quietly.

He sighs. "I can't keep up anymore with you, Daisy. This is not the first time customer keep complaining about your stupid behavior. I keep receiving complaints about you being lazy and always in deep thought!!"

The girl nibbles her lips. She admits that it was her fault, but she has a lot of work to support herself. "I'm sorry, boss. I know it was bad."

"I'm glad you notice it. Now, I'm sorry to say this, girl. But I need to fire you." As she expected, she will get fired. It was nothing new to her. "I can't let the reputation of my restaurant get lower." He sighs, feeling guilty.

Daisy lifted her head and smiled at him. As if, nothing happened. "I understand. If I were you, I will fire this type of person too." She takes off her nametag and her apron.

The boss looks down in guilty. This girl hasn't done anything wrong to him but shows him respect. It's just this lately she's been making trouble. His restaurant rate went lower because of her.

"But I--I can help you find a job, Daisy." He quickly said.

"It's fine. I'm sorry for making your restaurant in bad condition." She grins. "Oh well. See you later and thank you for good treatment!!" With that, Daisy went out.

The breezes hit her skin. She should have stopped pushing herself. But the bill, apartment rent, and food make her stuck in this. She looks down at her hands. What can she do now?

Suddenly, her eyes landed on her smartwatch. She was shocked to see it was her shift at the library already. Daisy grabs her bag and rushes towards the library.

Around an hour like that, she arrives. She paid the driver and rush into the library. There's an old woman at the counter. "Oh, dear. I thought you are sick!! You make me worried!!"

"I'm sorry, Nana. I just...lost the track of time." Daisy lied.

"It's fine. There's a new stock of books. Can you help me replace the old book with the new one?" Nana smiles.

"Anything for you, beautiful Nana." She grins and puts her bag under the counter.

Nana chuckles. "Stop your teasing and go do your job." She playfully slaps Daisy's arms.

Daisy chuckles and grabs the box. She walks towards the shelf before setting the box down.

"So, how have you doing this past few days? You look tired, honey." Nana came out and leans on the shelf. She knows Daisy more than anyone. A poor child who has lived by herself for years and yet, no one understands her struggle.

Daisy gives the old lady a sweet smile. "I'm fine, Nana. Just a little bit tired. You know what I'm doing. Work and work."

"Don't you want to continue college, honey?" She asks.

"I don't think I can..."

"I told you I can help." The old lady confront. "I can't see the beautiful women without education. Let me take care of you?" Her hands rubbed at her back smoothly.

"Nana, I appreciate your offers but...I just can't. It feels wrong. I don't want to depend on you." Daisy sighs.

Nana's lips become thin. She sighs, knowing she can't force this girl. "If you say so. Come to me if you need anything. Okay?" She pats her back before walking away.

Daisy watches her walk away. Only gods know how much she wants to take her offer but she doesn't want to be a burden to that poor old woman. She continues doing her work.

Nana who watches her has an idea. She smiles and went out for a bit. Knowing that girl can take care of her book store.

It is around 7 pm. Her job is finally done. She took a seat, packing her stuff.

"Dear. I'm sorry for making you work late today." The old lady sits opposite her.

"Oh, no worries, Nana. I enjoy it though." Daisy answers.

Nana smiles at the girl. She took out something and slide it onto the table. The girl frowns, take it gently. "Magic shop? Why...you give me this address?"

"I have a friend there. Just say my name and she will let you choose one thing for free. It is a reward for me. " Nana, you don't need to. I enjoy working here. It's peaceful." Daisy politely rejects.

Still, the old lady was stubborn. "No honey. Took it. Please? If you don't take the offer before, at least take this." She begged.

Daisy sighs. She nods with a smile and took the card.

"Make sure you go. Tomorrow, I will call that friend of mine and ask whether you come or not." The old lady threatens her.

She couldn't help but laugh. "Sure, Nana. I promise I will. See you tomorrow!!" Daisy get her bag and went out.

She goes home by bus. It was raining cats and dogs. But she loves rainy weather. The music she listens just makes everything aesthetic.

Soon after that, she arrives. Rain poured her like a shower. "Oh gosh!!" Daisy brings her backpack above her head to cover her from the rain.

She reaches her apartment building. "Took you long enough." A voice that she wishes she doesn't want to hear filled her ears.

"What do you want, Thomas?" Daisy fixes her backpack and sighs in annoyance.

"Like usual. Do you want to go on a date with me?" He asks getting near her.

"I'm sorry, Thomas. I'm not looking for a relationship right now." This been a few times she try to reject him. But this guy wouldn't budge.

It's not that she doesn't want but Thomas always has a creepy vibe around him. Sometimes, he always touched her against her will.

Daisy steps into the staircase getting faster. "I--I really can't." She said.

"What's wrong with me? What can I do for you to accept me!? I try so hard and I try everything!!" He suddenly burst out.

"Thomas, it's not that I don't want but...you can't force people to go on a date with you. It...so disrespectful." She points out.

The glares from that guy only make Daisy shiver through her spine. She gives one last smile and walks away.

But before she did, Thomas grabs her wrist. He pinned her to the wall. "What the--Thomas!! What are you doing!?" She yells.

"Are you going out with someone!?" He clenched his jaw. "Because if you did...I swear you wouldn't have a peaceful life after that!!" Thomas yells.

She struggles to escape from his grip but it only makes it worse. Thomas grins and leans forward.

Her eyes were wide open when he got closer. "What's going on here?" One of the neighborhoods came out. The woman frowns while looking at them.

Daisy took that chance and push him away. She fixes her clothes and smiles. "No worries, aunt." She runs to her apartment and opens the door.

Before that, she took a glance at Thomas. He was glaring at her. She gets in and slams the door closed. She locks it. Her breath could be heard.

"That was crazy." Daisy mumbles.

The next morning, Daisy woke up with her alarm ringing. She stretches her arms and laid on her stomach.

Her head stuffing on the pillow. Now, her day starts again like usual. When her head turns to the side she saw a card that Nana gave her yesterday.

"Oh yeah, I forgot about this." Daisy took it, scanning over it. "It better if I go now or not...Nana will whoop my ass." She gets up and goes washing.

The girl wears a black flowy skirt and a grey sweatshirt. She grabs her backpack and the card that Nana gave her.

Looking around the place, her eyes try to find the shop. She keeps repeating the action looking between the card and her surrounding.

"I swear it around here..." Daisy mumbles to herself. She keeps walking and it leads her to the alley. Then, she saw an old shop. "There it is-- woah..." Her hands drop to her side.

The shop looks so old and aesthetic at the same time creepy. Daisy gulps, clutching her skirt. This it is. She let out a deep breath and push the door open. The bell ring when the door opens.

She looks around the shop. A lot of things look so aesthetic and nostalgic. As Daisy wander around the shop, someone appeared in front of her. "Ah!!" She yelped in shock.

There's an old lady. "Hello, dear. What can I help you?" She asks with her mother's smile.

"Uh...Nana told me about this place. She told me to come here." Daisy handed over the card to the old lady.

"Oh my. I forgot about this. Welcome to my magic shop!! I'm Shelly. You must be Daisy, right dear?" Shelly asks. She nod. "Make yourself comfortable, honey. Take your time to choose. I will be right at the counter."

Daisy gives her a smile before she walks away. Her finger traces every inch of the things that are sold here. She checks every little thing on the shelf.

"Nana told me a lot about you, dear," Shelly spoke from her counter.

"She does?" It shocked her a bit when hear Nana talk about her.

"She did, honey." Shelly chuckles.

Around a few minutes like that, her eyes caught a shiny crystal. No matter how hard she tries to ignore it, something in her tells her to go to it. Daisy grabs the crystal and it was a necklace.

Her jaw dropped because of how beautiful it is. It is pure white crystal with decorated iron wrapped around it.

"You found something you want?" Shelly slowly walks toward the girl. As Daisy turn facing her, the old lady's eyes went wide.
