Chapter 195. Escape (Part1)

"Doctor?"

In front of the temporary base, Agent Coulson looked at Erik Selvig and questioned, "Your colleague looks dangerous, Dr Selvig..."

With a helpless expression on his face, Erik replied with a wry smile, "He was distraught when he found out that you've taken all of our research. That was years of his life gone! You can understand how a man could go off like that, right? A big faceless organisation like yours, coming with their jackbooted thugs and ..."

According to Erik's own ideas, he didn't want to get involved in Thor's affairs. In his mind, Thor was a madman suffering from paranoia, and he didn't believe anything about Thor at all. Moreover, he was well aware of the power S.H.I.E.L.D. held, which was even more evident after he came to the base.

In desperation, Jane's attitude was firm, and in desperation, he had to bite the bullet and come over.

"That still doesn't explain how he managed to tear through our security."

Agent Coulson wasn't convinced by the reasons Erik spouted. He had seen Thor's appearance in battle, which wasn't something that ordinary people could easily do. What's more, Thor didn't look like a doctor.

"Steroids, he's a bit of a fitness nut. You know, those guys spend their energy working out all the time. Adding alcohol to it, it's hard to avoid some mistakes and do stupid stuff..."

With a forced smile on his face, Erik tried to come up with a story.

"Sir?"

At this point, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in charge of information identified a problem. Erik's data on the doctor was clearly flawed, especially in the eyes of an organisation like S.H.I.E.L.D. They could easily identify it as forged data by comparing it with internal information.

Quietly withdrawing his eyes from the information on the computer, Agent Coulson looked at Erik, who was foolishly grinning in front of him, and thought for a moment before saying, "Maybe, you should've kept an eye on him."

As a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, Phil wouldn't be fooled so easily by Erik's poorly thought-out reasoning, and the reason he let him go was, in fact, to take a long way around to catch the bigger fish. He had seen the look on Thor's face earlier when he had broken into the crater hole in search of the item that had fallen there.

Especially when the other party broke into the base, the strange name of the hammer he kept calling intrigued Agent Coulson.

And he also wanted to take the opportunity to find the item the Phantom Thief had stolen through Thor.

"Yes, of course."

Upon hearing that from the agent, Erik immediately patted his chest and assured him. At the same time, he breathed a sigh of relief.

It seems that he succeeded.

Unexpectedly, Darcy's improvised fake information would actually work.

While relieved, Erik had no idea that he had been exposed.

"Sir, something's wrong." However, at this moment, the voice coming from the base made Erik's worries, which had been put down, instantly rise back up.

Approaching Agent Coulson, the other agent whispered, "The guy in the interrogation room is missing."

"Missing?!"

At his subordinate's remark, Agent Coulson subconsciously frowned and turned his head to look at Erik, who was still smiling at him with an oblivious expression.

Looking back, agent Phil wondered if this was the other party's plan, but Erik didn't look like someone with a big plan.

"Wait a moment." Agent Coulson said, with all kinds of thoughts flashing in his mind.

"No problem." Rushing to nod, Erik still replied with a look of ignorance.

"Do we know how he escaped?"

Inside the interrogation room, Agent Coulson looked at the intact room, his already furrowed brow deepened a little more. There were guards all around the base, and there was no damage in the interrogation room. He really couldn't see how Thor mysteriously disappeared from the room.

Having never seen Bucciarati's Stand ability, Agent Coulson couldn't think of a way even if he broke his slightly bald head. No one could have imagined that they had walked out of the room with complete ease by simply opening a zipper on the wall.

"Seems like the guy has more secrets than we thought."

Looking at the empty interrogation room, Agent Coulson loosened his tight frown and muttered to himself.

Although they lost all traces of Thor in the interrogation room, he didn't give up because ...

He turned his head to where Erik was standing.

Because, outside the base, another clue was already waiting for him.

Since the other party took the initiative to come for Thor, it meant that there was a certain connection between them.

...

Bang bang bang --

A sharp knock on the door came from outside the RV, and Jane scrambled to open it and then saw Thor.

"Thor! Erik got you back?"

When she saw Thor, Jane naturally made the connection that it was Erik who had gotten him out.

"Erik?" Hearing Jane's question, Thor's face suddenly looked confused, and he started to explain, "No, we came out by ourselves."

"We?"

A look of disbelief appeared on Jane's face as she heard Thor's remark, but then it came back to her. Because, behind Thor, she saw a familiar figure -- Bucciarati.

Bucciarati nodded expressionlessly at the look Jane threw at him.

In response, Jane looked a little unnatural.

Earlier, Bucciarati's act of removing one of Thor's arms in the van had left an extremely deep impression on her, and even though he had reattached it afterwards, every time she saw Bucciarati, a tinge of fear rose in Jane's heart.

"Don't worry, Jane, Bucciarati is not an enemy."

Sensing Jane's shaken expression, Thor then spoke up to reassure her.

"Bucciarati?"

Gently nodding his head, Bucciarati introduced himself, "My name is Bruno Bucciarati."

In response, Jane was flustered and replied, "Jane Foster."

After a brief self-introduction, there was another awkward moment.
