Chapter 224. A Vampire Dynasty (Part2)

"The Fuehrer is not accustomed to being ignored, Herr Schmidt."

Poland, in the Hydra base.

Several German officers expressed dissatisfaction with Johann Schmidt, "He funded your research because you promised him weapons. You serve at his pleasure. However, after such a long time has passed, you have not fulfilled your promise. Your Hydra division has failed to deliver so much as a rifle in over a year. The Führer is very disappointed. At the same time, we have learned through local intelligence you had mounted a full-scale incursion into Norway. The Fuhrer feels that you have been indulged long enough."

"Believe me, gentlemen, Norway is very important. Not only in the midst of war, but the country hides a very mysterious past." Without denying the officer's inquiry, Schmidt insisted on his own idea.

"No, the Fuehrer doesn't think so. He thinks that what you have done in Poland doesn't meet the requirements for your promise at the beginning. He thinks that you shouldn't be allowed to continue."

The officer's words made Schmidt stop himself. He turned his head and looked at the several Nazi officers who had questioned behind him. The look on his face slightly changed before he said, "Gentlemen, you have come to see the results of our work. Perhaps, you will allow me to show you. Right, now."

Following Schmidt's footsteps, they arrived at a lab.

"Hitler speaks of a 1,000-year Reich but cannot feed his armies for a month. His troops spill their blood across every field in Europe, but still, he's no closer to achieving his goals."

For the German Fuhrer, Schmidt obviously didn't have much awe, "On the contrary, I have found the ultimate weapon to win."

"And I suppose you still aim to win this war through magic?"

Obviously, within the German army, what Schmidt was looking for had been talked about, but it was obvious that they treated it as a joke.

"Science." In the face of the ridicule, Schmidt was very calm, "But, I understand your confusion. Great power has always baffled primitive men. Hydra is assembling an arsenal to destroy my enemies in one stroke, wherever they are, regardless of how many forces they possess, all in a matter of hours."

"What do you mean? Your enemies?"

Looking at each other, several German officers clearly detected something wrong in Schmidt's words.

At that moment, a Nazi officer noticed what Schmidt had placed on the table. His eyes swept over the odd stone mask on the table, and then they were drawn to the map.

"My army has gained invincible power. They will hold weapons that contain enough destructive power to decimate every hostile capital on Earth. Quite simple gentlemen, I have harnessed the power of the gods."

"Berlin is on this map!"

Looking down at the location marked on the map, the Nazi officer then noticed that their capital, Berlin, was similarly marked.

"So it is."

Nodding noncommittally, Schmidt raised a hand in the face of the angry Nazi officer.

In the next moment, a few soldiers armed with strange firearms walked into the laboratory. They wore identical uniforms and with the same stiff look on their faces.

"You will be punished for your insolence! You will be brought before the Fuhrer ..."

Before the officer's words were done, in the next second, the soldier raised the gun in his hand and aimed it at the officer. With the flash of an eerie blue laser, the officer that was still standing there was instantly reduced to ashes. Then, after several laser blasts, there were no more officers in the laboratory.

Not only researching vampires, but Schmidt had also been studying the power of Tesseract and successfully developed these powerful weapons.

"My apologies, Doctor."

Taking in what was before him, Schmidt slowly said, "But we both knew Hydra could grow no further in Hitler's shadow."

Powerful forces are often clustered with mad ambitions.

From the day Schmidt got the Tesseract and Stone Mask, he was no longer destined to work under Hitler.

"Hail Hydra!"

...

The Royal Palace, Oslo, Norway.

"Father, the Nazis have invaded one of our cities again. They are too powerful for our army to withstand. It is time to make a choice, whether to surrender or ..."

Crown Prince Olav looked at the pale King Haakon the VII, and his heart was slightly anxious.

"Norway will never surrender." As his eyes swept over the Crown Prince, a red glint flashed in King Haakon's eyes, but he quickly suppressed it, "I'm prepared to go to England as a last resort, to establish a government in hiding and resist to the very end."

"Hiding in England?"

Olav wasn't surprised by King Haakon's final decision; Norway was ultimately too weak compared to Germany to stop the war, even if it tried its best.

"In fact, not only the royal family but a large group of people will also be travelling with us to the UK. Together they will help us to establish a provisional government in the UK against the Nazis..."

Nodding, Haakon, as King of Norway, made the decision that even Olav, as Crown Prince, couldn't change. Putting away his inner thoughts, Olav looked at Haakon, who was getting paler and couldn't help caring, "Father, take care of yourself. You're the foundation of Norway, and as long as you're here, Norway will not fall."

"I know."

In order to maintain his image, King Haakon deliberately kept his old appearance when he transformed into a vampire. Looking up at his son, Haakon hoarsely said, "Victory will eventually belong to us." For the hiding that followed, he didn't convert any of the royal house into ghouls.

As good as the vampire's powers were, sunlight was ultimately a major weakness, and the inability to walk in it was destined to limit his movements and made them susceptible to suspicion.

In fact, Haakon had already made the decision to pass the throne to his Crown Prince, Olav, when the war was over.

He himself would hide in the dark, control the royal family in Norway, and transform the retired royal family members from generation to generation into undead ghouls.

The Nazis would eventually perish.

The Norwegian royal family, as a vampire dynasty, would control Norway from generation to generation.
