Infiltration of The Camp

"I-I'm finally here..." She mumbled as she looked at her watch. Seeing the smoke rising above the forest trees, she almost cried in joy. She completely forgot why she was even here.

Picking up the pace, she quickly sped towards the smoke. Then coming out of the forest, she was met with a whole squad looking straight at her. She was taken aback at such a sight; it seemed that they were waiting for her to show up. But that wasn't the thing that shocked her the most. Instead, it was the fact that the people before were so much better off than she could ever imagine.

Warm fur coats with a cozy shelter they could sleep in. Not to mention the hot meat stew the man behind everyone was eating. 'I-I didn't think you were able to make your own clothing like that...' May thought. 'If they hadn't been called out, then it must've been valid...'

Letting out a deep breath, May suddenly felt all her strength from her legs disappeared. Falling to the ground, she weakly lifted her head to catch a glimpse of a girl coming toward her.

Using the last ounce of strength, May scram. "Please help!" She didn't care anymore at this point; survival was her first initial thought.

"Don't worry!" I shout, entering May's ear, causing her to look up. It was a high-pitched voice but also seemed to be holding a lot of determination.

But seeing the girl move to minister the guy, May almost lost reasoning. 'W-what about me?!'

"Don't worry. So why don't you stay?" The girl said, causing May to widen her eyes. 'Stay? Are you dumb?! But I won't complain about this opportunity!'

Without waiting a single second later, May shouted, forcing all her sincerity into her voice. "Really?! Thank you!"

Just as she thought everything would be an easy ride, a cold voice suddenly sounded in her head. "Sorry, but that won't be happening."

Looking, May was met with a cold gaze that didn't seem to care what happened to her. 'N-no! Don't give her any ideas!' May scram inside her head as she looked back at the girl.

"S-second lieutenant?" The girl mumbled as she stared at the scary-looking lady with widened eyes.

'Second lieutenant?' May thought as she looked towards the scary-looking lady. 'Is she a noble? There's just no way she could be a Commission officer at such a young age.'

"I think I'll be okay." A voice suddenly sounded, causing the scary lady to turn around with a frown. But on the contrary, May's face brightened.

"We can't trust them." The scary-looking woman spoke, causing a bit of displeasure towards May, but the woman was cut short.

"It's going to be fine second lieutenant," The man spoke. "As your commanding officer, I order you to stand down."

'Commanding officer?' May thought as she looked towards the man. 'He's the first lieutenant then?'

"I..." The scary-looking lady started to speak but suddenly stopped, letting May give a small sigh of relief.

Soon a big bulky man came up and picked up the injured man off the ground. At first, May flinched back in surprise but seeing his rather friendly face, she calmed down and stood up. Then wasting no time, she followed the big bulky man. While scurrying behind, May suddenly felt a pair of predatory eyes glare at her. Although she had an idea of who it might be, she didn't dare to look back.

Walking into the camp, she watched as her buddy got immediately treated by the girl. But looking a bit further into the camp, she caught a glimpse of a giant pit fire. Moving her legs, she rushed towards the fire and placed her feet and legs near. A wave of pleasure rushed towards her body, causing her to melt inside.

As May was enjoying herself, she felt a tap on her shoulder. Turning her head around, she saw another man holding up a wooden bowl of beef stew. Staring at the bowl then back at the man, she took the bowl and started to gulp down despite its hot temperature. Although she saw the man staring at her breasts, she didn't really mind, or to be more precise; she didn't have to energy to mind.

While thoroughly enjoying her meat soup, she noticed the scary-looking woman sit down across from her, and it seemed her facial expression didn't change a bit.

"How did you get here?" She suddenly asked.

'I have to answer this, right? If I don't, it'll get suspicious.' May thought as she placed her wooden bowl down.

"My squad got w-wiped," May answered with a stutter, making herself look intimidated, but it only caused her to be bombarded with questions.

" How did it happen? When did this happen? Did it have anything to do with the humanoids?" She asked without pause.

"I think that's enough." The first lieutenant spoke, causing the scray-looking woman to look back with a glare.

"I'm asking the most questions. Is there a problem?"

"She's in not state to answer questions."

"She doesn't need to be." She said.

"Look, how about this..." The first lieutenant sighed. "Let's let her rest, and how about you ask her tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow is too late now it the on-"

"Second lieutenant... please." The first lieutenant sighed again as he shook his head.

"..." Hearing his words, her whole body started to tremble before completely stopping. Then moving her legs, she sluggishly walked away.

"Sorry about that." The first lieutenant sighed as he turned around towards Mau, scratching his head.

"Ah... it's okay." May replied, not knowing how much to say.

The first lieutenant then turned over to the scray-looking woman and shouted, causing much shock toward May.

The girl is going to be sleeping with you!" The first lieutenant shouted, causing her to turn around with disbelief in her eyes.

"Are you joking?" She said with a wavering smile. "It was already a miracle that she even got here without me killing her, but you want me to sleep under the same roof as her?'

The first lieutenant nodded, causing her to grit her teeth.

As the situation seemed to escalate, the girl stepped in. "I think it should be fine." She said while turning to May. "By the way, your buddy is going to be fine."

May looked around with disbelief. There was just no way things were going this smoothly. She had done nothing, but now she had a chance to sleep in the same room as her target.

Speaking of target... Who was her target? May had been too busy eating, and her vision was too hazy to see. She couldn't identify her target, but now, since she had regained energy, she started to scan the camp.

Everyone had fur coats except the girl in a full winter assault uniform. 'S-she's my target? May thought as she felt her heart sink. 'I have to kill an innocent maiden like that? Just to pass this damn test?'

Although she was filled with sudden guilt, she had to force herself.

"Ummm... h-hello?" The girl spoke, waving her hand in front of May's face.

"Errr... Thank you." May expressed as she woke from her daydream.

"No problem!" She enthusiastically spoke before leaving.

After sundown...

May found herself inside the igloo, looking straight up into the ice ceiling. But although it was all made of all ice, it was perfectly above room temperature inside, and it was all because of a funny little device in the center of the igloo.

May had inquired about the item and was told their own team member made it causing her much shock. Her only thought was how well of she would have been if she had such an item. But noticing her useless thoughts, she quickly dismissed such ideas.

'I-I have to kill her...' May thought as her hand trembled while reaching into her boot. Then still with trembling hands, she took out a dagger. May didn't know why she was hesitating now. She had killed before, but why now...? 'Get ahold of yourself...' She mumbled as she gripped her dagger.

Only three people were inside the igloo, including her, the scary-looking lady herself, and her target.

It was past an hour after midnight, so May was sure everyone was asleep. She even made sure to double-check their breathing rhythm to ensure they were asleep, especially the scary-looking woman. That was the only person she was wary of right now.

Removing the blanket that kept her warm, she stood as much as possible. Then slowly moving towards her target, her heartbeat quickly hastened, afraid they would wake up. It was the fear of getting caught.

No sound but the soft humming of the portable heater and her soft breathing. Beads of cold sweat slowly made their way across and down her back, sending several shivering down her back.

Liftin the razor-sharp dagger high into the air, she positioned it over the girl who was sleeping peacefully without a single worry in mind. Looking at her sent more waves of guilt towards herself, so May closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. 'After I bring this knife down, I have to flee... the instructor will know... he'll let me pass.' And opened her eyes.

A tiny yelp was all that escaped from her mouth; it was all she could muster while fear took over her body.

It was her... long brunette hair tied into a ponytail and with a pair of bright red eyes that seemed to stare down towards the death of her soul.

"I fucking knew it."
