I have...always wanted to know of what comes after death.
Curious of what will I feel and sense.
No, can he even sense anything?
Right. Just like now.
I couldn't see. I can't feel the touch of my body. Nor can I smell my surroundings. I tried to speak but no mouth to open.
It is utterly...darkness.
No, wait. Then why can I think?
Oh, I still have my consciousness then.
But what can it do without its body?
Even after death, as always I am useless.
Disgustingly pathetic and useless.
I'm dead.
... but still pathetic.
"... hey."
What was that? Did someone just talk?
" .. hey! "
" Hey! Wake up! "
Gasping of air, the young man who was just sleeping a while ago suddenly open his eyes in shock. Heart furiously thumping and sweat was covering his entire back. On the other hand, all his classmates were watching him awaiting for the young man's punishment for sleeping in the class. Some of them were donning a mocking smile while some worriedly looking at the teacher afraid of his upcoming wrath. All eyes were on the teacher who's now furious and to the young man that just got jolted awake.
As the teacher was about to open his mouth, a loud thud then echoes the whole room as the young man unexpectedly collapse on the floor.
Then a moment of panic spread across the room.

[Clinic]
A knocking sound coming from the door. Followed then was rough voice of a man from inside, "Come in. "
As the door of the clinic open, a buff man strode in while wearing a frown on his face as he landed his eyes to the owner of the rough voice before him. The man before him was skinny but tall. He was wearing a white coat and a hand holding a bandage. He seems like he was busy with something but got disturbed.
"What brings you here, Mr. Ray?" He glared at the man's sudden intrusion.
"Where's the kid that fainted an hour ago?"
"Who? There's a lot of patients in here come and go, Mr. Ray. Better say the name." The skinny guy said in a grumpy tone.
With a scowl on the buff man's face, nevertheless, he stayed silent as if waiting for something. He knew that the doctor before him has a particular strong memory. So it's impossible that he doesn't know.
Minutes pass by, the tension between the buff and the skinny men inside the small clinic silently started to rise up. The skinny guy couldn't endure the oppressive silence anymore as he sigh in defeat, " Okay, you win."
He knew he couldn't win with this muscle guy. Not now, not ever. It just pisses him off that's all.
He then stood up as he put the bandage on his hand to the compartment above him," That kid was very strange, I tell you. After he woke up, he quickly asked me what date is today. But that's not the strange point, before he left he warned me to go home with my family and prepare for an apocalypse to come. " He laugh at the ridiculous words that he just spout out.
It's seems like the kid was having a nightmare. That must be the reason then.
"Anyways, he left. I don't know where he's gone to. Satisfied now, Mr. Ray? Now let this old man do it's job, yeah? Shoo now."
The buff man then nodded and expresses his thank you as he was about to leave.
"He's your student. Jesus, not mine. " A silent grumble came out from his mouth, enough to not get caught by the buff man.
Hearing the door closed, the doctor thought of the kid that left an impression to him. The kid's eyes was sharp and very determine. It seems like he wasn't lying but the more he remember his words the more ridiculous it was.
Even still, the doctor felt uneasy. Why is that? Did he got swayed by the kid's words? He mock himself. Ridiculous indeed.
But still, he decided to call his wife.
"Honey, why the sudden call? " After a couple of ring, his wife sweet voice emitted from his phone made him unconsciously breathe in relief.
"It's nothing, Dear. I just missed your voice. Just... " He hesitated a bit, " Just be careful in there, okay? Be sure to lock all the doors."
" I know. Are you sure everything is fine in there?"
"Yes, it's fine. Now, I have to go. See you tonight. I love you."
After the call end, the doctor felt conflicted. However, he decided to cast this useless thoughts at the back of his mind.
Maybe he's just worrying for nothing.
