Side A - The Future

I stared at the page before me as I tried to memorize the words written down. It was exam season and I had chosen a university away from this city.

Or Yang chose it for me. He was going there as well and it had on-campus boarding.

My parents were against me leaving home for school but knowing they were never going to see me unless it was vacation, they relented. I was surprised it went just as Yang had said.

We weren't going to live in the dorm though. He said he'd already rented a place out before I even took the exam. My Yang's mind went beyond common sense too, it filled me with bliss and contentment.

Speaking of, he was sitting behind me as I sat between his legs on the floor, his back leaning on the couch. He had his phone in hand, browsing for new music. He actually did download music like a normal person but he only bought and continued to buy CDs before just so he had a reason to go outside so I would follow him. Now that he didn't need to, he rarely left home for anything besides food and necessities. He told me this was how he really was.

How different is the Yang who I idolized and the Yang who was together with me now? He surprised me everyday.

I was thirsty and made a move to get up but his hand suddenly shot up and landed on my shoulder.

"Where are you going?"

I was expecting this, "To get water"

His hand dropped and allowed room for me to stand.

When I came back and planned to sit down beside him, "Yin" a warning.

I easily slipped into my previous spot again.

He was clingy. Adorably clingy. He was obstinate of the fact that we needed to be close or in contact.

It was inconvenient sometimes especially when we went shopping and he wouldn't let go of my hand. But he didn't seem to care for the time or location as he did as he pleased and I was happy since he was happy.

So Yang did whatever he wanted and I was pleased with whatever he did and so the cycle continued of us continuously doting on each other.

I finished my work when it was sunset and the sky was starting to darken.

My phone vibrated on the table and when I reached out to read the email, Yang had already grabbed it from me.

"Who is this?" there was a dark note in his voice.

Alarmed, I leaned forward to see what was written on it.

It was the schedule for submitting the college applications, sent by my homeroom class president.

He must've gotten my number from the list that was taken at the start of the year

"He's my class rep. It must be a group email" and sure enough there was a bunch of names on the 'To' line.

"He?" there was a suspicious tone.

I laughed, "It is a guy Yang but it's for everyone in class. I'll need it too so I can stay updated on the college application procedures" this was not his 1st group email so I know how helpful the information was.

He stared at me as if to see if my expression would shift then he dropped the phone back on the table, albeit roughly, "You're changing your number when we graduate"

I smiled wider and flung my arms around his neck, relishing in his warmth.

"Okay"

"You're not allowed to reply"

"I know"

"We're getting the same classes in college so you don't have to make contact with anyone even if it's for school"

"Whatever you say, Yang"

He then finally relaxed, lifting his arms to secure me in place against his chest.

It was a few minutes before either of us spoke again, just enjoying the comfortable silence and warmth.

"Stay with me forever"

"I will"

I always will.
