The number of slaves that were saved was low compared to the general population of people in the town. There were over a thousand but they were less than two thousand. They were patiently waiting and talking amongst themselves
"How do you think our savior is doing out there?" One of the slaves asked
"The explosions have stopped so I think we should be saved or do you think that they were beaten?" Another said
"I knew we shouldn't have followed him. I heard there are strong powerhouses in the town hall capable of blowing up small hills with just a punch. That's most likely the cause of the ground shaking previously. He is most likely already dead" One of the slaves spoke making the others scared and worried that they will go back to being slaves.
It was akin to being raised to heaven only to be sent to hell, not like a certain man that used a stripper pole to go to hell and dance for the devil.
"No. Our savior will not be beaten like that. It was clear he was not alone from the conversation I heard from the slave masters earlier."
"What do you know?! I have seen really strong people that have killed ten men in less than a minute, their auras made me quake. That elf's aura was too calming to be someone that is really strong. I am sure as he went into the battle he was killed in a second. I advise you all to split up and run away, some people will be caught while others will successfully escape. It is just a matter of luck but it is better than staying here and going back into slavery." A chubby slave encouraged.
Some of the slaves agreed with him and soon he had over two hundred slaves that were willing to run with him, despite Regallas telling them to wait.
As they were about to leave, the door opened and they saw four people walk in. The elf that saved them, this time was accompanied by two female twins and a man that had half his face covered.
"It looks like they do not have faith in me, Daren" Regallas said with a straight face
"I would not blame them. They are powerless so they have to be like that. They do not want to go into such a life again" Daren said as he stared at the slaves.
"Mr Savior, you are back. Do not worry, we had faith in you. We never doubted you for a second" Some of the slaves said.
"It is fine. I am not mad or anything. It is unnecessary. Anyways, they are all dead so what do you guys want to do? Do you want to stay here, go to the kingdom of Light or build your own clan or haven? What is the plan?" Regallas spoke to all the slaves.
They all looked at themselves in confusion as they had never been given a choice and now they were given one, they did not know what they wanted.
A dark-skinned slave raised his hands and said " We do not have enough resources to leave here and at the same time we do not have enough protection to make a haven. So we have no choice but to stay here and reside but that comes with a downside as some of the other towns like this in this wasteland might come and take resources and also take us back as slaves too"
"Do not worry about resources and the other towns, all that will be taken care of. Tell us what you want and we will see if it is possible to help fulfill that" Solana said with her stiff face.
"Well, we would like to have power so we would never have to be in fear of what happened to happen again. We do not want to ever be so helpless in such a situation again." The dark-skinned man said.
Regallas looked at him and was quite impressed. He spoke with will and the other slaves were clearly in awe and were nodding as they supported what he said. They did not want to live in fear ever again and if there was any confrontation, they would like to face it head-on instead of cowering and begging.
"Okay then. I guess we can help with that" Regallas said as he had a slight smile on his face.
The slaves were a bit confused when Regallas said what he said but they were also hopeful. For people that were going to be sold and properly beaten or killed under their new master's rule, this was the only chance they had at a new beginning so they were going to take it.
Meanwhile, on the battlefield, Licht was watching over Midas as he was trying to digest the souls of the fallen and use them to fortify his. The cocoon was still throbbing albeit slowly now. All his other soul summons were evolving and growing stronger as he used the soul of the five, well four, to strengthen his soul summons.
Wrath, Envy, Lust, and the Manticore increased in rank once again from intermediate green rank to peak green rank. The other souls entered intermediate green rank, none were lower than the intermediate green rank. The other soul energy was being used to cultivate by Midas and his rank slowly increased from the late green rank past the peak green rank. The wall between the green rank and the red rank was stronger to break through but he increased the energy till cracks were showing little by little till the wall finally broke down and Midas was finally in the red rank. He finally exhausted the energy he had within him as he broke through to the red rank but it was worth it as he was now in the basic red rank. A fifteen year old red rank on the Gregorian continent, it has never been witnessed before but Midas broke that manner of reasoning.
