The group went into the castle that was guarded, but they managed to get in without anyone noticing them. Licht walked forward as he sat down on the throne, and he stared unfocused. He was thinking about what to do. As they were walking through the clan, he managed to understand that over 80% of the demon population wanted to ravage the continent like they did all those millennia ago. He was tempted to kill every single demon, but that seemed like a lot of work, and knowing there were some that enjoyed the peacefulness made him hold his hand. He looked at Tenebrea, who smiled at him.
"I understand what your dilemma is, but should there really be a problem? There is already a powerful alliance. Just reveal yourself, and whoever follows you will be sent to the alliance."
Licht nodded as they all started to discuss, and after an entire day, they had come up with a plan before they could even do anything. Licht and Tenebrea felt a disturbance, so they focused to understand what was happening.
"My people of the clan, I have news from reliable sources indicating that the last sin is dead. Now that nothing is holding us back, we can become what we once were: Conquerors. We shall no longer cower within our homes, bored of life. We shall be kings once more and look down upon every single race on the continent. We will bathe in the blood of our enemies and use their bones as toothpicks. That is what we are; let us showcase our true natures." The scaly humanoid demon spoke from a high place, and his voice resounded through the entire clan. At first, they were all surprised to hear that Sloth had passed, and they felt this man was just a fly waiting to be swatted down. After all, he was not the first person to try to cause chaos, but whenever something like that happened, they would all explode into bloody mists. But this man was still talking, which meant Sloth was most likely dead. His words started to make sense, and soon most of them were inspired, while the ones that were not inspired were scared because they still felt the demon king from the legend would come, but now it was looking bleak.
Tranko, who was sent from the shadow race, got this information from the Stone giant. Where the stone giant got this information from, he had no idea, but from the looks of things, he was right. He felt ecstatic because he knew he would be the leader of this movement if it was successful. A leader of one of the strongest races on the continent, one could only imagine the power he would wield. All of a sudden, a loud sigh could be heard.
"Who knew it was when I came back that this would happen? Seeing a race I made so powerful act so bloodthirsty and unhinged makes me sad. Andes gave his life for this clan, but it was for naught. My name is Licht, but you all know me as the Demon King. To be honest, I did not want to get involved, but I realized that there are still some people who hold hope for me, like Andes or Sloth did. So I will say this: If you want to join this conquering crusade, I will not stop you, but if you want to live a life of peace, come to the castle."
The voice resounded all over again, louder than even Tranko's voice. The scary thing for Tranko was that when the sigh sounded out, it was like a spiritual attack. He spat out a mouthful of blood and was injured all the way down to his shadow. He shivered in fright, knowing the strongest being on the continent had actually attacked him with just a simple sigh.
The demons that were cheering for Tranko were surprised to know their so-called Demon king had returned, but it could also have been a poser who just wanted fame.
Tranko saw the hesitation and gritted his teeth as he chose to bite the bullet.
"Who is this imposter that wants to impersonate the great demon king, even using a name? We all know that the demon king did not have a name. Come out and show yourself if you really are him." He spoke again.
The demons waited, but there was no response.
"Hahaha, coward!" Tranko yelled. The ones who sided with Tranko and were hesitant finally picked a side. The allure of slaughter and rampage seemed far better than peace from someone they were not even sure was the real deal.
"Master, why did you not speak again? I am sure if you spoke, everyone would have come to the castle," Sloane said.
"There is a difference between fully believing in something and only believing because others do. Anyone that comes here really hopes for peace and less suffering, and those are the ones that deserve the protection of the alliance," Licht said. The disciples nodded, as they also understood.
"Go and set up the ether stones now." They moved into action. Tenebrea had gotten information from Vlad and Ana about the Shadows movements, and Licht also sensed the shadow on Tranko, so he knew what he was planning, but he had no fear. He planned to teleport the people who came to Wallachia. They had already told Ana to prepare accommodations for the incoming people.
After an hour, a couple thousand people came to the castle. Not surprising, they were mostly old people and children. The women and men were lesser, but Licht did not mind.
He stood on the balcony as they stared at the man with silver hair. The light bounced off his hair, giving him an ethereal feel. They all stood slack-jawed before the man spoke.
"You all are the lucky ones, but since you chose to hope, you will be rewarded. This is a teleportation circle that leads to the Vampire Kingdom. Once you arrive there, you will be treated like a citizen after registration. If you want to participate in the upcoming war, no one will stop you, and you can even join their army. This is what I have decided to do as a last favor for Andes."
The people had shining eyes and were excited. They were mostly old or too young, so they felt this was the perfect opportunity for them.
Licht smiled, seeing that they approved of the decision. He immediately began the process.
"Spatial Rend" A tiny tear started to expand until it was big enough to accommodate several hundred people. The people who were cheering for Tranko stared at the gigantic blue gate that just formed out of nowhere. They finally realized that maybe it was actually the real demon king, but at this point it was too late, and Tranko made them realize that.
"So what if he is the real king? We have the numbers, and we will show them that peace does not exist. At least not while we are still alive!" He yelled. The people sobered up and were revved up once more.
"I have to give it to the guy; he knows how to raise morale." Midas said. The rest of the group nodded in agreement. After a couple of minutes, everyone had disappeared from the circle, and the energy within the ether stones had been used up. The gate closed, and the only people left were Licht, Tenebrea, and the others.
