Welcome to Olympus High

Zander (Son of Zeus) POV

"Hello, demigods and demi goddesses welcome to your new home. I hope everything is to your liking. Some of your parents will be teaching here so please don't talk back to them." Announced Principle Zeus, "Not all the staffs are gods or goddesses. Some of them are demigods. It was my wife's idea to add a special mix this year. My son Hercules will be teaching gym and will be overseeing some of the sports this year. Athena will be teaching History as well. That's all the announcements I have for right now. So please enjoy your first day. Today your classes will be cleared so you can adventure the new campus. Just be careful some of the teachers are in a meeting so don't disturb them."

"Father, where do I go?"

"Well, my boy why don't you go shadow your brother Hercules. He has been excited to meet you. Don't be afraid of him." explained Zeus.

I nodded and did as my father said. When I saw Hercules I knew I shouldn't be afraid, but seeing him in person and seeing him through a hologram were two different things.

"Zander! You made it!" shouted Hercules.

"Hey, Herc, I had trouble finding you. This place is huge and every turn I make feels like I am in some kind of maze."

"You'll get used to it. I'll let you in on a little secret I got lost to," whispered Hercules.

Knowing the great Hercules got lost too made me feel a little bit better.

"Have you seen any cute girls around here?"

"Well don't look now but there is Jezabella the daughter of Hades." whispered Hercules, "stay away from her."

The second I saw that small raven-headed beauty I knew I had to meet her. So I waved to her trying to get her attention. No surprise she didn't look up from her book. I was kinda sad that she didn't notice me. I think she did her best not to get noticed since her father isn't a very well-liked man. Her father did try to kill Hercules when he was a baby, but that doesn't mean she will be cruel like her father...Right? I got lost in thought when the daughter of Aphrodite walked in. Rosie with her long blonde hair and hypnotic blue eyes. She made everyone swoon even Hercules but he played it cool. I noticed that Jezabella and Rosie were in the middle of an intense staring contest. I couldn't tell who was winning. Rosie just walked off huffing and mumbling under her breath. Jezabella rolled her eyes and continued reading her book.

"What is up with those two?"

"I don't know to be honest. I think their parents are in the middle of some kind of feud or something. I don't want to get involved, but did you see Rosie. Mmmm that girl is fine." said Hercules.

I just rolled my eyes and laughed at him. He then said that he had to head back to the gym to see if any students were in there. I waved goodbye to him and continued my adventure to see who else I could meet and what else this school had in store. I "accidentally" ran into Jezabella trying to get her attention.

"Oh, I am sorry. Are you hurt?"

When I ran into her I knocked her over which wasn't the plan at all. She just shrugged it off and got up as if nothing happened.

"I am fine," said Jezabella softly.

When she finally looked up her eyes widened with fear and almost ran off. I couldn't let her run away from me so I grabbed her hand. She froze in place and turned to me.

"Zander, let go of my hand." she pleaded.

"How do you know my name?"

"You're the son of the King everyone knows who you are. Look around every girl who wants to be with you and every guy who wants to be you or destroy you. I don't want any trouble let alone how much trouble I would be in if your father saw me near you. You know our fathers don't get along." she explained.

I could see the loneliness in her eyes and wanted to take it away from her. I had no idea what came over me one second I was holding her hand and the second I had her in my arms. She didn't put up a fight. Instead, she crumpled and nearly fell to the floor but I held her upright. To my shock, she started to cry. She cried like her heart was being stomped on. I just stood there and let her cry into my hoodie. I couldn't imagine what was going through her mind right now. Everyone was staring at us and I gave them a look that said get lost. No one wanted to get me mad so they pretended like nothing was happening. She stopped crying and froze when loud footsteps approached. It was my father and before I knew it Jezabella vanished.

"Did I just see you holding Jezabella?" asked dad.

"Dad, she looked like she needed a hug so I gave her one. I know she is the daughter of your enemy but that doesn't make her our enemy. She needs a friend and I intend on being that friend. So please don't punish her. She's probably been alone her whole life and everyone needs a friend."

"I am so proud of you, son. I knew someday you would stand up to me. I am glad you want to be her friend. Just please be careful that Hades doesn't find out about this. If he does he might try to use her against you. So stay alert when your uncle comes around. I don't want another war with him." explained father.
