Chapter 59 : Danzo Arrives

At that moment, Danzo and Utatane Koharu gazed in the direction of the Land of Whirlpools, where the country's shores were already within sight.

Danzo's typically somber expression betrayed a hint of ruthlessness that he couldn't conceal.

"The Land of Whirlpools, the Sealing Technique, the Jinchuriki, the Uzumaki Clan... From now on, all of you belong to Konoha," Danzo declared coldly.

He continued, "The Uzumaki clan's secrets, their incredible physical prowess, and their vast chakra reserves—all of it will be subject to our research. It's time to locate suitable Uzumaki individuals; they make perfect subjects for experiments. Their robust vitality is ideal material for our research purposes."

Danzo's tone was callous, and he showed no remorse for his intentions.

"The Land of Whirlpools may be our best-kept secret, but don't worry. In the future, Konoha will remember you and pay tribute to your sacrifice," he added with a twisted smile as he gazed at the distant Land of Whirlpools.

Utatane Koharu, who stood beside him, shared in his enthusiasm. "Very well. It appears that the Land of Whirlpools has not been completely obliterated. We may still find some children to bring back. We must choose wisely and select those who are in good health..."

Her excitement was palpable.

Danzo nodded in agreement, adding, "Indeed, the storm hasn't begun yet. Could it be that the Mist Shinobi haven't initiated their attack? This is perplexing."

Senju Hiroshi, who had been listening in, furrowed his brow slightly but quickly masked his concern.

After all, the Land of Whirlpools was an ally, established under the First Hokage's decree, and had maintained a close relationship with the Senju clan.

Yet, over the years, it appeared that the Land of Whirlpools had diminished in significance in Konoha's eyes. This made him wonder if Konoha's higher-ups viewed the Senju clan similarly.

Suppressing his unease, Senju Hiroshi continued to survey the area nonchalantly.

As time passed, they soon reached the Land of Whirlpools' territory. They arrived at a village that seemed unaffected by the ongoing war.

The villagers went about their lives with apparent ease, seemingly unaffected by the turmoil.

Danzo couldn't help but voice his confusion, "Why do they seem unaffected?"

Such a situation was far from what he had anticipated. Even if the Land of Whirlpools hadn't been completely destroyed, it should be in a state of disarray.

Moreover, where were the Mist Shinobi? They should have arrived by now, given the information they had received.

Utatane Koharu shared his bewilderment. "Why are they all carrying on as if nothing is amiss?"

Danzo's frustration grew, and he ordered the root members accompanying them, "Go and gather information about what's happening."

Without hesitation, several of his subordinates departed to investigate.

They quickly returned, their expressions filled with shock, and relayed the startling news they had uncovered.

"What? The Uzumaki clan defeated the Mist Shinobi?"

"What? Their clan heir defeated the Third Mizukage?"

"What? Mist Shinobi are here to negotiate the exchange of tailed beasts?"

Danzo and Utatane Koharu were overwhelmed by the surprising revelations.

They couldn't fathom where this false information had originated. Could it be a mere jest? What was happening here?

Danzo ordered, "Never mind the details. We must proceed immediately."

With that, they hurried toward the Uzumaki clan. Along the way, Danzo and Utatane Koharu exchanged puzzled glances, their expressions filled with confusion and disbelief.

They couldn't help but wonder if the Mist Shinobi had intentionally spread these rumors as part of a ploy.

Finally, they arrived at the Uzumaki clan's compound.

Two guards stood at the entrance, eyeing Danzo's group, which bore the Konoha insignia, with a mixture of curiosity and nonchalance. To their surprise, they had dared to come to the Land of Whirlpools.

The guards, seemingly bored, crossed their arms and addressed them casually, "Halt! What brings you here?"

Danzo was displeased by the guard's demeanor in such a small nation.

Utatane Koharu, her anger simmering, couldn't believe they were treated this way, especially as Konoha elders. Even in hostile territories like the Land of Thunder, they had been shown more courtesy.

Utatane Koharu's face, already marked by wrinkles, contorted into a scowl. She resembled an irate witch.

"The lack of manners is astonishing! Go and inform your clan's head to receive us. We are Konoha's esteemed elders!" she declared, her tone uncompromising.

The guard regarded them with disdain but relented, turning to enter the clan compound to deliver their message.
