Chapter 210 : Discontent?

Kazuhiko was convinced that news of the complete severance of diplomatic ties between the Land of Whirlpools and Konoha would spread rapidly throughout the entire ninja world.

His own accusations against Konoha would also disseminate at an unimaginable pace within the ninja community.

After all, it was human nature to revel in spectacle, especially in the entertainment-starved world of ninja. The split between the two, one being the esteemed pioneer village and the other a long-time ally, would create a level of excitement rarely seen in decades.

Kazuhiko, well-versed in the rapid dissemination of sensational news, had absolute confidence that this development would swiftly reach the ears of countless individuals at a pace beyond ordinary comprehension.

Drawing from numerous examples in his previous life, where he often found himself caught up in similar gossip, he harbored no doubts about this.

Furthermore, he was certain that spies from other major powers were among the populace. He intended to leverage their presence to expedite the spread of the news regarding the severed ties between the Land of Whirlpools and Konoha to the high-ranking officials of those nations.

Kazuhiko trusted that they would not disappoint him, and his accusations against Konoha would echo precisely in the chambers of those influential leaders from nations such as the Land of Earth, the Land of Water, the Land of Wind, and the Land of Lightning, among others.

With this plan in mind, Kazuhiko's mood lightened considerably. After enduring the weight of two metaphorical stones on his chest since his arrival in this world, he now felt an unprecedented sense of relief.

A profound tranquility enveloped him, and he could even sense a faint joy emanating from his soul. An indescribable happiness filled his heart, one that seemed to represent the quintessence of life's pleasures.

Moreover, Kazuhiko keenly recognized that, within him, alongside his own joy, existed another form of gratification.

The overwhelming joy enveloping him seemed to ease his soul, offering a peculiar sense of relief.

Kazuhiko scrutinized his hands skeptically. This elation wasn't confined to the realm of the soul; it seemed to permeate his very being.

He sensed an invisible weight lift from his body, as if he'd shed a burdensome shackle, rendering his soul more whole.

It wasn't merely a description; it was a tangible sensation of existence!

Kazuhiko was keenly aware of the changes within himself, even noting a faint aura of delight emanating from the Zanpakutō at his waist.

Such profound effects couldn't simply be dismissed with joy, could they? There must be underlying reasons driving these transformations!

Though intrigued, Kazuhiko hesitated to directly question the all-knowing system, mindful of the bustling crowd around him and the Uzumaki clan members trailing behind.

This wasn't the opportune moment for extensive inquiry; he resolved to seek answers later, in solitude.

Suppressing his doubts, Kazuhiko maintained a composed demeanor as he retraced his steps.

Eventually, drawing curious gazes from passersby, Kazuhiko led his clan back to the Senju clan compound.

Halting abruptly before the gates, he turned to address his followers.

With a piercing gaze, Kazuhiko locked eyes with each Uzumaki clan member behind him.

Neither the elders nor the rank-and-file shinobi dared to meet his gaze head-on.

"Look at me directly!"

Kazuhiko's stern command resonated, compelling them to raise their heads involuntarily.

Confused by the clan head's sudden intensity, they awaited his explanation, unsure of their transgression.

"Why the solemn faces? Why the somber mood?"

Kazuhiko's frustration stemmed from their lackluster demeanor, devoid of the expected jubilation of victory or the reassurance of their alliance with Konoha.

His words jolted them from their reverie, prompting guilt-ridden looks directed at Kazuhiko.

"What are you afraid of? Isn't this something to be happy about? From now on, we will be severed from Konoha, and no longer will we be mistaken for affiliating with them by other nations!"

"Shouldn't we rejoice? Since Konoha has betrayed us, then we shall forsake them! Isn't this the collective decision?"

"Then what's the matter now? Who are you showing this to? Are you airing your grievances? Are you hesitant to align with Konoha? Do you still harbor desires to ally with Konoha?!"

Kazuhiko's relentless interrogation, with a stern tone and an angry expression, instantly jolted all the clan members.

They promptly dropped to their knees.

"I apologize, clan head!"

In a row, they knelt before Kazuhiko, heads bowed, not daring to meet his gaze for a long while.

Kazuhiko surveyed them all, the anger in his heart relenting slightly, though his tone remained stern.

"Raise your heads and answer me: are you discontent?"

Several elders led the way in lifting their heads to meet Kazuhiko's gaze, and the rest of the clan members followed suit, quickly denying any discontent.

"No, certainly not. This is the consensus decision; we have resolved to sever all ties with Konoha!"

"We stand united with the clan head's actions! We applaud his condemnation of Konoha in front of so many witnesses!"

"Yes, indeed!"

The others nodded in agreement.

Upon hearing this, Kazuhiko's tone softened a tad. "Then why do you still wear such expressions?"
