Crossing your limits

Abigail took a deep breath as she stepped into the company, steeling herself for whatever awaited her. However, the hostile glares from her colleagues greeted her, making her feel like an intruder in her own workplace. Ignoring their icy stares, she pressed forward towards the elevator, only to be stopped by a familiar voice.

"Where do you think you're going?" Ella, the secretary, demanded, her once-friendly demeanor replaced by a disdainful look.

"What do you mean, where am I going?" Abi retorted, turning to face Ella, who was now joined by other staff members eager to put her in her place.

"You can't go in after daring to talk to our boss like that. Do you think you'll still be his assistant? In your dreams," Ella sneered, her words echoed by murmurs of agreement from the surrounding employees.

"Excuse me, but why wouldn't I go in? He hasn't given me a termination letter, so you have no authority to stop me. You only have the right to confront me with a termination letter, so all this is pointless," Abi shot back, unfazed by Ella's anger.

"Don't get ahead of yourself. You'll soon receive that letter, mark my words. Do you think you're so special that the boss will overlook your mistake? Never," Ella retorted, her tone dripping with scorn.

"Fine, let's wait and see," Abi replied defiantly, turning to head for the elevator, only to be yanked back by Ella.

"Do you think this is a joke?" Ella seethed, her grip tightening on Abi's arm.

"I never said it was a joke. Maybe you wish to see it that way," Abi retorted coolly.

"How dare you talk to me like that?" Ella fumed.

"And who are you to think I can't talk to you like that?" Abi shot back, her patience wearing thin.

"You're crossing your limits," Ella warned.

"If you don't want me to cross my limits any further, you should stay in your lane. You shouldn't have interfered in my matter in the first place. Let boss decide," Abi replied, standing her ground.

Before Ella could retort, a deep voice interrupted their confrontation.

"What's going on here?" Dylan, inquired, his tone stern. The employees quickly returned to their seats, pretending to be engrossed in their work, but all ears were tuned to the unfolding drama.

"Oh, Mr. Dylan, good morning," Ella greeted with a wicked smile, confident that Dylan would put Abi in her place.

But Dylan's next words left everyone stunned.

"Oh, Miss Abigail, you're here. Boss has been waiting for you for a very long time. There's a meeting going on, and as his personal assistant, you must be there. Please, let's go," Dylan said, leading the way with a surprising lack of hostility.

Abi followed him, feeling a mix of relief and confusion at Dylan's unexpected intervention. As they walked, she couldn't help but wonder what awaited her in the meeting and how her relationship with her boss would unfold from there.

While Ella was fuming with anger, that's not what she was expecting, it looks asif her image has being dragged in the mud.
