The Assassination: Part 11

Carlyx and Steve got in the car. The passing time was taking them closer to their destination. One of the passengers in the back seat was staring outside the black-tinted windows, with different thoughts swirling inside his mind. Probably thinking about what the night will be like. After a ride of some minutes, Steve applied brakes and the car stopped gently in front of a gigantic building. Many beautiful lights illuminated the place, attracting a lot of people around though everyone couldn't afford to go in there. Steve got out of the car and opened the door for Carlyx. Carlyx got out of the car and buttoned his coat. As he walked towards the entrance every sight turned to see him at least once. The aura he was possessing was unordinary. His charismatic look and features were attracting the people around him like a magnet.

The car keys were given to one of the valets standing outside the entrance. The giant glass door at the casino entrance was opened for the two gentlemen, and they both walked in at a constant pace. Max was already present in the lobby waiting for them. As soon as Max's eyes fell on the two men, he has been waiting for, he rushed and approached them. Beside Max was a woman in formal clothing, she seemed like a worker in the casino. She was holding a banquet of flowers, and soon that woman greeted Carlyx and gave the banquet of resplendent and fragrant flowers. Accepting the banquet Carlyx thanked with a blank face not letting a single expression utter on his endearing face. The woman bowed and left.

Carlyx, Max, and Steve went through a security check-up. They got out clear. The security checking was not about the guns and weapons it was about the cheating stuff and props that people usually carry around to win the tournaments and games. They got out clean. Every famous casino owner knows well that their casinos work well just because of the mafias. They contribute a lot to their success. It's obvious that no mafia member will enter without a gun tucked in their suit.

Max was leading the way and soon the three of them entered a big hall. A hall showing the diversity of human nature. A hall showing what being successful means. A hall where only the millionaires can afford to stand. All the people in the hall were either millionaires or mafias. All men and women present there were seeking all the pleasure they could at the moment. Some were playing on tables, some chitchatting on the couches, and others trying to find a partner for the upcoming night.

They passed through the gigantic and purely luxurious hall. Max showed them a way to the private room that was booked by Freddie already. Carlyx walked in followed by Steve and Max. Entering the room he just got to experience a disgusting scene. A woman in a short black dress with her cleavage and curves visible was lying over the old lech. Freddie had placed his lips over hers and was kissing her. After noticing the presence of the other men in the room, he broke the kiss after a few seconds. Without any discomfiture he just asked that woman to get aside from him, he put on a revolting smile on his lips where lipstick stains were still visible.

Carlyx forced a smile on his face to make things less awkward.

"Oh, look who's here, the star of the night has arrived. I am very excited to introduce you to the chief guests here today." Freddie said with eagerness.

"Thanks, Sire." Carlyx passed a grin. He took a seat on the leathered couch in the room as he was offered to.

"No need to thank kid, you will get to make a lot of new friends and acquaintances today," Freddie said rubbing the thighs of the woman beside him.

Carlyx was disgusted by Freddie. Freddie offered Carlyx to sit on the nearby leather couch from h across from him. He sat crossing his legs reflecting an un anonymous aura.

Freddie continued the conversation trying to make the atmosphere less awkward.

"So, are you excited for tonight?" Freddie said trying to be joyful and uplifting.

"Of course, I just can't wait for the moment," Carlyx replied masking a smile.

"So, what are we waiting for? Let's move to the event already." Freddie exclaimed getting up from his place alongside the woman in his arms.

"Yes sure," Carlyx replied with a cold expression on his face.

Freddie stood up from his place and asked Carlyx to follow him. Freddie took the lead with the hand wrapped around the waist of the woman that he was with. Carlyx, Max, and Steve followed behind. When they reached the elevator, Max pressed the buttons of the elevator for all of them.

They took the lift to the uppermost floor, the 50th floor of the building.

The doors of the elevator opened in front of a lavish golden and red themed gigantic hall. The length of the hall was big enough that the other side of the hall was barely visible to the person standing on either side.

Golden detailing on the beautifully embellished red walls, gave them an astounding look.

Max showed them the way to the table reserved for them. All of them took their seats on the large glass table beautifully etched with intricate designs. The woman that was with Freddie excused and left for refreshment.

"So, what game are you going to play today?" asked Carlyx facing Freddie.

"Today a lot of famous men of the dark world have arrived here. Many of them are participating in The Ten Event, and so will I. I am very confident about winning today since I know the tricks." Freddie replied with an easy expression on his face.

Just in a span of some minutes a man in his mid-forties arrived near the table and greeted Freddie. That man had a fine-built body. He was wearing a navy blue suit with hair combed back straight and tied into a small ponytail. Two bodyguards on either side of him were protecting him with loaded M416 rifles in their hands.

"Hello gentlemen, how come you are here Mr. Freddie?" The man spoke with a smirk on his face.

Freddie's expression turned stern. It seemed like he was disgusted and furious by that man's presence.

Carlyx took his gaze up to see the man who was talking to them and then he turned to see Freddie's expressions.

"Oh, Markus. It's none of your business. By the way, it seems like you are here to lose a hefty sum. Again." Freddie spoke emphasizing his last word.

The so-called Markus took a step forward and towered Freddie with his gigantic height. They were looking straight into each other's eyes like they were going to eat each other right away.

"So you think you can win today hun?"Markus said still glaring into Freddie's eyes.

"I am sure about it. Mister. Markus." Freddie replied raising the corner of his upper lip.

"That's what the game will decide. Mister. Freddie." The man in the blue suit said raising one of his eyebrows.

"So let's play the game then, let's see who the winner is and who is the loser. As always." Freddie spoke up standing from his place and buttoning the middle button of his coat.

"Yeah sure, let's play only if you are brave enough to enter The Ten Event." Markus said in a mocking tone shifting his right hand inside the pocket of his pants.

"Max, can you please bring the two contracts of The Ten Event for me and Mr. Markus?" Freddie asked giving a sarcastic smile to the person in front of him.

"Yes sir!" Max replied and rushed to the reception to bring the contracts.

Freddie folded his arms and remained standing in front of Markus. After 5 minutes Max came and handed the contract files to Freddie.

Carlyx was still sitting on the couch, watching the scene as an entertainment show. Carlyx has been in the underworld for a long time now. Everyone is quite familiar with the name Markus who has remarkable skills in heists and guns. Carlyx had already dug out information about Markus. Freddie and Markus studied in the same high school. It seems the rivalry started from there.

Markus and Freddie signed the contracts.

"Now let's see who wins. Right, Mr. Carlyx?" Markus replied looking to the guy who was seated on the couch with his legs crossed.

Carlyx was amused. He nodded once and smiled in reply.

"Meet him Carlyx, he's Markus. You probably know who he is, don't you?" Freddie said shifting his gaze towards Carlyx.

Carlyx got up from his place. He moved his hand forward to greet Markus. "Yes, who doesn't know about Mr. Markus? It's a pleasure meeting you."

Markus shook his hand with Carlyx and smiled.

"Now let's go and see who wins," Freddie spoke out loud.

Max went to reception and submitted the files. Now the one who will win gets ten times the amount he bet, and the one who loses will lose ten times the amount he bet.
