CHAPTER 21 – T-minus (7)

A prophecy of the end of the world, named to be as Rahambose -Rage Akin Hundred Anarchy Minded Beings Offset by Sequential Equation-wrecks. Each language had its own full name to that name.

Many centuries (about 20) ago: HE occurred. The first dragons were his parents. When he occurred, to escape him, his mother had to travel to the past and stop herself from ever falling in love. She basically killed herself, and became caught in an explosion.

But there was a third dragon, and the father of Rahambose had fallen in love with the other one, while the mother was unconscious. After gaining consciousness, she just had to move on. Except, Rahambose occurred once again.

The mother found out that she had gained powers of time travelling, thanks to destroying the time machine, which is where she found her past self at. And she travelled back too many times, stopping it only to never stop him.

She let the third dragon, Fara, know about the happenings. And the two realised together, that the whole cause was the time-traveling. The mother had to remove the gem from her chest, and put and end to things.

But something granting power over time, didn't break. Four others, who came through probably no where, or probably the ripples caused by the mother, helped seal the gem, by sacrificing themselves.

The mother awaits, in a space where time doesn't exist, protecting the gem, and waiting for Rahambose.

The third dragon being an immortal, who took birth everytime she died, decided to come back to Earth, and stop it somehow. She spread prophecies about Rahambose, and a warrior, one of the four who had died from sealing the stone, to arise again, as he promised to.

A group of warriors formed in a planet far away. These warriors followed the instructions and ways of the four who had died.

Scelesthe was one of them.

Their goal was to put end to disorientations, and hence Rahambose. Rahambose who will arise due to changes which shouldn't happen, like time travel.

But, even this way, Rahambose had already arose. Someone fooled the very entity which grants the dragons their gems. And that someone had stolen the Rahambose gem, from the entity who had took possession of the gem from the dead Rahambose, of the past.

Dragons used to live on Earth. And even on the planet which Scelesthe was from. And many more. But now they all lived on one planet, which is where Rahambose was.

Being in a place filled with power: Rahambose hadn't conquered even their first planet. But when he was unknown to the dragons, he had already destroyed the beings on a star. A star which had very strong beings on it, ones exceeding the title of powered-individuals, and dragons.

Someone even the dragons fear. Such someone will meet their end due to this H.O.D., according to the prophecy. And that prophecy was being fulfilled, somewhere out there. Right now.

Saturn Organisation even seemed to get in contact with an energy, at one point. An energy which was seen as Rahambose, by the dragons. Even when it was destroyed, Rahambose and the H.O.D., are here.

When the dragons were still here, Saturn Organisation hunted them. They made powered-individuals, using their findings. And that is why the dragons left.

Something else which Saturn Organisation made with their new foundings is…

"-Morph," Edward says. "The very person who stands in front of us, and calls themselves as Witch."

"That is not true," I say.

Edward doesn't speak.

"I'm… just someone with similar powers, maybe," I say.

"I'm sorry but; normally human-"

Scelesthe stops Edward, by placing her hand ahead of him.

"-would have stuttered. But you didn't," Edward says. "You don't have skin, you shapeshift, possess purely flesh, no sensible kind of organs."

"Enough," Scelesthe says, in a normal-but-piercing tone.

"She can't be living on with a fantasy of being a human. I'm sorry," Edward says. "Even I'm not a human. It is hard to accept. But we need to accept the truth, than get hurt worse and… blow out our realities and just… spit out rage."

I try to hurt Edward, but everyone just seems to move to stop me. I stop and freeze. I look at all these people, looking at me like a monster.

Psyand's mother seems to grab Psyand closer, and away from me.

I turn away and storm out of the house. I once again go to the terrace, and just sit there now, at the edge.

This was it. I missed to one chance I had of being a human. Now everyone knew. And they'd see me as only a monster. Only as what I am. No. Only as what I was made to be.

Tears form in my eyes. Even I didn't know I could do that. I just cry, for the first time in my life, for as long as I could remember.

Weren't emotions human? Then how did I have them?

Or maybe this just was another attempt of mine, to make myself think I had the potential of being… normal.

As I stay there, immersed in my thoughts, steps approach me. Must be Scelesthe. But once I lift my head, I find Lost-Bird, who just comes and sits next to me.

"I didn't think you'd come," I say.

"Why's that?"

"Well, you are the most human of the lot," I say, and Lost-Bird clue-less-ly stares at me. "You show the most emotions. Psyand's mother only seems to have the protection attempt on her daughter, and shows fear. But you…"

"That's not true," Lost-Bird shakes his head, disapproving.

"I'm sorry. I just meant-"

"No. I mean… don't believe that. Don't believe that norm of beast and human."

"I don't," I lie.

"Then you wouldn't have stormed out of there," Lost-Bird points. "See, Edward sure was cruel. But he merely wanted you to make peace with what you are. And you don't have to classify something as either human or beast."

My jaw shudders, but I look at Lost-Bird, trying to find what he meant.

"You think humans are any better? Look around you. These Saturn Organisation are humans, who envy power of others. Are they better? Are they human?"

They were… but they were ruthless.

"And then there is you. You… this may come out as embarrassing or frustrate you, but you are like a kid," Lost-Bird says. "No, I'll call myself as Witch, not Morph," he changes his voice in a weird way.

Lost-Bird looks into my eyes, and I flinch with an unknown fear.

"You grieved and promised to do better, because you saw all those dead people on the bridge. Whereas Saturn Organisation MADE that chaos," Lost-Bird says. "So tell me, which one of you-?"

I jolt forward and land a peck on Lost-Bird's lips, stopping him from talking.

"Thank you. I understand now," I say, and clear my throat.

Lost-Bird doesn't say a thing, but after two or three moments, he just turns to look ahead again.

"Anytime," Lost-Bird says.

"I'm sorry, that was… I just…"

"No. I get it. Things… take a turn sometimes. You don't have to have a clear picture suddenly. Magically."

"Could I request something else then?" I ask.

Lost-Bird looks at me, but I avoid his gaze. I feel… shy, I think.

"I feel like being held," I say, and sniffle. "So much that… it hurts."

Lost-Bird wordlessly, just hugs me, from the side. I hold his shoulder, which is ahead of me, with both my hands, and just put my face against it, and sniffle.

"Do I feel like a human?" I ask. "Now. Or before with the kiss."

Lost-Bird comes closer, and feels my shoulders thoroughly.

"No," Lost-Bird says. "I only have realised how you feel. How you, Witch or Morph. Feel."

I shudder and cry in his arms. I forget if it was to get his sympathy, or a real emotion. I just let it out. And Lost-Bird just stays there, just holding me, not saying a word.

I feel Lost-Bird's phone vibrate. But Lost-Bird doesn't move an inch.

I wipe my tears and let go of Lost-Bird.

"Thank you," I say. "You… can let go of me."

Lost-Bird lets go of me, finally.

"Thank you too," Lost-Bird smiles.

"For what?"

"Same thing," Lost-Bird says, and checks his phone. "Oh it has already been a couple minutes. Happy new year!"

"Ah… same to you."

Lost-Bird's phone rings, and he picks it up. Being so close, I hear the voice from inside the phone.

"I have been trying to reach out from so long. Bad network?" the person on the phone, a girl, asks.

"Something like that," Lost-Bird laughs.

"Well, anyways. Happy new year buddy," girl-on-the-other-side says.

"To you too. How have you been?" Lost-Bird asks.

Lost-Bird gets up, signing me that he has to take the call. And as he walks away, I look above, to the drops of rain falling against the force-field around us. Making a continuous, rhythmic sound.

Even the rain couldn't be embraced now.

I get up, letting Lost-Bird know that I'm going, I walk towards the room I had left.

When I knock at the door, it opens in a while. Psyand's mother stands there in front of me, I quickly avoid the gaze and look away. Slowly I move into the room, and she lets me.

"Y-you must be hungry," Psyand's mother says.

"Not really," I say, without looking at her.

"Please don't starve yourself."

Before I say anything, Psyand's mother walks away. After a while she comes with a plate full of food, and places it on the table for me, signalling for me to come there.

I go and sit, and look at the plate.

"Did you wash your hand?"

I look at my hand, and feel Psyand's mother look at it too. A red, muscular, skinless hand. I hide away my hand.

"I think I'll be fine," I say. "I'll use a spoon."

I grab the spoon which is dipped into a cup containing some half-liquid thing. First I taste it, and get surprised. It is sweet!

Psyand's mother keeps looking at me. "Is it not good?"

"No, it is. I just was surprised that it is… sweet," I say, and look at the cup which barely had some more spoons of the dish left, and feel sad.

"You don't have to worry. There is more," Psyand's mother says.

"No… I… it'll be fine. I'll have other dishes too," I say.

"Ah, there isn't enough to fill your stomach," Psyand's mother says.

"Oh. Okay. It is fine."

While I finish the bowl, Psyand's mother goes and gets a utensil containing more of the delicious dish. She fills the cup again, and sits down, watching over me, again.

"I'm sorry," Psyand's mother says.

"No, it really is fine," I say, and try to give a happy and satisfied expression.

"Not for the food. That part… I'll make more from tomorrow," Psyand's mother says, and I look at her. "About before… I just was afraid. And... I don't even know how to say you must have felt. But I think I hurt you."

I don't say a word, and just stare at my plate, fiddling the spoon in between my fingers, in the bowl.

"I guess… I-I got used to everyone. But not having talked to you… I just am not used to it," Psyand's mother says. "I only saw you in… a very bad state. And couldn't to know who you are."

"That's fine. Even I don't know what I am," I laugh, still fiddling with the spoon.

"You… technically might be as old as Psyand then. You change forms and all…" Psyand's mother says. "Even Psyand fears it. Of who she is. I try to help her find that. So… if at all you need anyone… I'll try to be there. Without judging from now on."

The spoon slips and continues its spin for a moment.

"T-that is up to you," Psyand's mother gulps.

"Why are all of you being so good to me?"

Psyand's mother simply smiles. "Harsh told us what happened on the bridge, after you left."
