CHAPTER 33 – Plague which never occurred (1)

"He got hit," Psyand says, while sitting on Scelesthe's lap.

It must be about the person on Scelesthe's left, Forcerer. Forcerer who had passed out, and was one of the two who hadn't woke up. This person was fast asleep on Scelesthe's shoulder.

"What?" Scelesthe asks.

"When we both were lifted in the air, he got hit. I saw it. It was too fast," Psyand says. "That red spark… hit him."

That was bad. Thunder being the other person who was related to being too close to Other-Being. Alongside Witch. And Witch being the only one to wake up for a short while… it could be very bad.

Witch did say that she couldn't feel Other-Being like she could before. But he could simply have gone back to his initial clean state, when Witch couldn't feel him, she said. And that could mean… this parasite had a new host?

Wrap splashes some water on Forcerer, and Forcerer jolts awake.

"Guess it work," Wrap says.

"You piece of-" Scelesthe curses.

Wrap really must be the strongest or something, he couldn't be controlled by this Other-Being, was awake all this time, and he could… bear a broken heart. Whatever that was.

"I just wanted my story to be heard," Wrap shrugs.

"Please don't move a lot," Psyand's mother, at the driver's seat, says.

"Just a moment mother," Scelesthe says, while wearing her gauntlet.

"Not at the heart," Wrap says.

"No I will," Scelesthe says.

"Scelesthe!" Psyand's mother says, while stomping at the breaks, and sending all of us forward.

Psyand's mother glares at Scelesthe, in an un-glaring way.

"I'll…" Scelesthe says, pointing at the back.

"Where… are we?" Forcerer asks.

There was the question one of everyone who woke up. Now to question two…

"Where's Grandpa?"

"We don't know," I say.

Forcerer looks at me, and slowly realisation and then rage fills his eyes.

Right, Feather and him… knew Grandpa. Not well, but they did.

"You knew about…"

"Aarush…" Scelesthe says, knowing what was about to come. Feather had also had the same reaction.

"You knew what he was gonna do," Forcerer says, and I just bow my head.

Wrap holds my hand, moving ever so slowly.

"Right?"

I look at Forcerer. "Yes."

"He wouldn't have died," Forcerer says. "If he is who he is."

Everyone just gets silent, and Forcerer just opens the door at his side, and steps out.

All of us inside, just glances at each other, for a few moments.

"I'll… go talk to him," I finally say.

By the time I reach the door, Forcerer gets in again, and looks at me.

"Oh, you need to go too?"

I just stare at him with confusion. And he stares back in confusion.

"I…" Forcerer says, pointing outside.

"Oh, okay, right," I say, sitting back.

"So you don't wanna go?" Forcerer asks.

"No, no."

Psyand's mother starts the engine again, and we get going.

Question three…

"Where are we going?"

I unlock my mobile, ready for this moment, and let him watch the video.

"My name is O," a voice comes out of the speaker.

Clips of all the powered-individuals, caught on camera.

"We are going to get them all together. First will be O. O can… heal us. Some of us are in dire need of it," I say.

"That a white dragon?"

"Yes."

Forcerer just nods, and Scelesthe scales him with her eyes.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes. Of course. Out of all, the once that-"

"-you got hit by that red spark," I say. "That's as dangerous of a thing that could happen."

"I'm fine," Forcerer scoffs, and I just stare at him. "What…?"

"It's a parasite," I remind.

"Excuse me. You let a person go right off the cliff," Scelesthe complains.

"What?" I ask. "Firstly, we don't know if he is dead. Second, it was the only person who could have helped us, besides Wrap. As only they had the chance."

"Really?" Wrap asks.

"Third…" I say and pause, knowing clearly that she was right. "I did the best I could!" I grit my words out.

The van screeches again.

"Here is what happened. Harsh told this really powerful person about us being in danger, even if Harsh knew that this person could be harmed badly. And that saved our lives. And this is what we are going to do? Harsh didn't push him, he asked for help. For us," Psyand's mother says.

"Don't use my…" I say, and look into the mirror, with eyes staring at me. "You can use my real name. I prefer it."

"I don't mean Harsh here killed him or anything. I do feel bad but… don't you think so too, that dreams have a bigger meaning?" Forcerer asks. "I think so, after I heard Lost-Bird's story."

Silence answers his question, that we couldn't quite understand him.

"I dreamed… I saw Grandpa," Forcerer says. "He said… he is happy to have had a purpose in the end. To be the hero for once. I'm not going to judge whether he is dead or whether it is right but… it has brought me enough peace."

"Not to me," I hear Feather say, and open the door, and leave.

But only I stare at the closed door, seeing him leave again, and everyone stays their pose, not seeing this illusion. Because I was the only one responsible for him leaving that time, so nobody else could see the illusion like me.

"Oh," Forcerer says, and I find him scanning the back. "Everyone passed out," he says instead of asking about his missing friend. "What do we know about O?"

And the engine starts with the story-telling.

.

.

.

The richest jewel on Earth, the Kohinoor. For a long time, there was change in ownership of the jewel, wherein it was stolen and given to various people, and has ended up in England, in the end.

But like any ancient jewel, conspiracies on Kohinoor is what mainly lead everyone to try and gain it. The conspiracy that it could cure any sort of illness, and heal many kinds of wounds. Even that, it could bring people back to life; because it was the container of Hindu mythology's famed Amruth, the elixir of life.

"Ooh, can I tell this story to the others? Psyand is young, she'll like it," I say to Crystal-cave.

"No," Crystal-cave replies back, and the images continue moving, with the monologue pausing.

The Kohinoor was a dragon-gem. And at the death of its owner, which it had stalled for too long, Kohinoor, was seen as a piece of jewel, with conspiracies surrounding it.

When the humans came to claim it, one person stopped it. Or perhaps… a being.

"Me," Crystal-cave says, proudly.

Crystal cave stole the powers from Kohinoor, leaving it to be in its renowned position of a jewel. The powers on the other hand… were too much to let be stolen. But the power could only be quickly transferred into yet another, but simple, jewel.

Kohinoor was stolen, and the other jewel was not cared for, and ended up in a museum. Unbeknownst to everyone, there was the cure for cancer, and every other diseases that could be imagined.

But someone had to find it purposefully. And someone had to lust it faithfully.

But someone… drags into it, not being on either of the sides.

"Are you okay?" a girl asks her identical-looking sister.

"It's just a cold," the sister wipes her nose.

"Or maybe you just don't want to step out of the house."

"I'll at least rest when I'm sick. Thank you."

This way… this girl ends up in the museum with the jewel holding the powers of Kohinoor, alone, while saying…

"Right, it's not like they have the Kohinoor."

Jewels… so attractive… the girl stays the day there, looking at all these ancient jewels, while praising them with her eyes.

"Magnificent, isn't it?" a man makes her jump, while she is all-eyes on the jewels. "I'm sorry. I just saw you wandering here so many times, so thought to address a fellow… history lover."

"I'm not much into history but…" the girl says and glances at the jewel, besides her. "That's very pretty. Like the Kohinoor."

"You have a good eye. That once was hanging on the chest of one of the greatest kings of history," the man says. "Well, it is… it holds similar power to that," he smiles.

The girl just gives an impressed expression.

Next thing, she just-

"Hey, that guy's going to steal that jewel over there," the girl informs a guard.

"And you are his assailant who is taking too many rounds around it?"

"No… he… really will."

"Mam, that is the cheapest gem here. Out of everything. It only belongs here because it is part of history."

"Really, who had it?"

"That's not my job."

"So do your job and catch the thief."

"If he does and when he does."

She realised that it was just a cheap-ass museum-

My eyes blue out and the monologue doesn't reach me.

"Crystal-cave," I call out.

"What?" someone asks me.

I look to my side and find someone's face way too close to me, and push him.

"Don't scare me like that," I say to Wrap.

"You were the one who was… well, what's with this 'crystal-cave', what's that?"

"Nothing important," I say and look at everyone. "So what's happening?"

"Nothing. I was just explaining to Forcerer about O," Lost-Bird says.

"Yeah… all we know about her is that she is a white dragon and in prison. That she stopped some plague," Forcerer says.

"Rusk is the one who told us about it," Lost-Bird says.

"So Feather… he hasn't returned," I say. "And Thunder?"

"Hasn't woken," Scelestha says.

"Remind me again… did he get thrown away back on the rooftop. Like the rest of us?" I ask.

"What does that have to do with anything?"

"Yes," Psyand replies.

"He said something about escaping Saturn Organisation… but was he given powers or…?"

"He was given them," Forcerer says. "He said so."

"Okay," I say, and close my eyes, resting my head.

"That was all?" someone asks.

But I reach by Crystal-cave's side.

"I didn't think you'd be coming back that soon," Crystal-cave says.

"Guess I lost focus or something."

"I wouldn't know."

"How come?"

"My knowledge is so-and-so. I don't know things which I don't know."

"Can I get information on Other-Being?"

"No."

"So you do know about it."

"Yes. And I don't trust you Rusk. Even when you are his successor… knowledge is a cursed thing. Followed by greed."

"Okay but… I don't want to know how to gain his powers or something. Just some questions about his powers."

"Hmm… what are they?"

"I could figure that he has something to do with us dragons. Am I right?"

"That is why… that thing is dangerous. It is something higher than dragons. And can control dragons, as you have witnessed."

"How can I find him, there must be a similar gem for him, like with white dragons?"

"It can't be found. I'm not saying it because I don't trust you. If it were the case, I'd only tell you the truth. But he really can't be found. Except of course, your friend who could find him when he had a part of her within him."

"Will Thunder be fine?" I ask.

"If he is breathing… then there is nothing stopping from a white dragon saving him," Crystal-cave says. "Shall we continue the story? I fear that you may be wasting too much energy."

As I nod, the monologue continues.

And the girl ends up getting kidnapped by these people stealing the gem.

"Wait, I think I missed a part," I say.

"That isn't important. That is not why I'm showing you this story," Crystal-cave says.

"Then why are you?"

"Because she's the one you need to kill," Crystal-cave says.
