CHAPTER5: MR MARTINS ' VISIT WITH HIS MOTHER.

After proposing to Dooter and also getting the approval of marriage from her parents, Mr Martins thought it was the right time to invite his mother to the village and introduce his future wife and in laws to her.. He gave his mother money to buy everything necessary which she then bought palm oil and groundnut oil in two jerry cans each, a bag of salt, a carton of seasonings and so many things pertaining to women and also a special gift for her future daughter in law... She kept all she had bought and waited for her son to return from his journey. He stayed a month and when he came back from his journey, he told his mother that they would be leaving for the village where she would be meeting his future wife and in laws.. She was eager and couldn't wait for the next day to see this special lady that caught the attention of her son while Mr Martins went to the market to buy 2 phones for Mr and Mrs Ayaaga as promised... Later in the evening he called Dooter telling her that their departure from town and arrival to the village was the next day. Dooter felt happy and a bit nervous as she would be seeing Mr Martins' mother... She went to tell her parents of Mr Martins and his mother's arrival the following day and there wasn't time to delay preparations for their coming. The following day at exactly 5:30pm both Mr Martins and his mother arrived at the Ayaaga's compound. Warmer greetings were exchanged as Mrs Mzamber ushered Mrs Anike into their home leaving Mr Martins and Dooter to who conveyed all they had brought along with them... Dooter took all that was brought into their store after which she joined the whole union with Mr Martins immediately after presenting the gifts of phones to Mr and Mrs Ayaaga... They felt elated and thanked him wholeheartedly. Mrs Anike was so pleased with what she saw all around her. The love circling their presence was enough for her to emit unflinching love to the Ayaagas....

An hour had passed and while they rested, Dooter had prepared food and placed it on the table for them to eat.... They ate their meal and Mrs Anike then thanked Dooter for the wonderful meal she had served her.... The night came slowly And then Mr Martins did the proper introduction of his mother to his future in laws of which she was greatly welcomed... She told them that she was pleased with what she saw on coming to see her future daughter in law and her parents... She opened up that as of the moment, she had fallen in love with Dooter and her parents from the very first sight which got Dooter's father thanking her and also commending her for raising a son well trained and mannered... They thanked her for being a super woman after she had narrated her ordeal in raising Mr Martins alone due to family issues which she briefly narrated.... After chatting the whole night through they all resigned to bed...

The following day Dooter's mother took Mrs Anike to the farm to show her their yam plantation and other plantations belonging to Mrs Mzamber and her husband.... By the time they came back from the farm Mrs Anike told them that she wouldn't want to waste time for her son to marry Dooter.. Now that she had seen Dooter, her son's father would be summoned and then the necessary rites would be carried out in taking Dooter as a wife and daughter in law... Mr and Mrs Ayaaga gave their approval once again..

Having heard of their approval, Mrs Anike called her son out, told him to call his father and explain everything to him.. Mr Martins then called his father and discussed his wedding plans asking his father to pick a date for the wedding preparations and rites of which his father rather told him to pick a date at his own convenience. Few minutes later Me Martins and his mother came back in to ask Ayaaga to pick a suitable date which he also responded that any day from now would be okay by him and his family as long as they were ready....

Mr Martins then told them all that he had taken a 2month leave off work in order to have their wedding within the space of 2 weeks which sounded good to both parties.... Then Mr Martins called his father and announced the chosen date as 2weeks from the moment he was calling...

Their marriage would be in 2weeks time as both parties parted ways for proper preparations and due planning.
