"What happened?" The boys came barging in with the girls trailing behind them, each of them with concern looks on their faces. I sighed deeply and ran my hands through my hair. "They kicked me out." The girls gasped in shock while the boys gave me sympathy looks.
"They fucking kicked me out! The Alpha! Out of his own fucking room!" l hit the wall next to me three times in rage, clenching and unclenching my fists. "My mate is in there having my children. What the hell were they thinking?!"
Chris moved forward toward me and patted my shoulder. "Max. You're losing it. I think it's better for you to go run that rage off and come back when you're calmer." I growled at him and yanked myself from the wall. "Go. I'll mind link you if anything happens."
I huffed loudly and strolled past them, making my way out of the pack house. The moment I stepped out of the house, I gave Mikko control of my body. He's been nagging me to let him take control ever since they kicked us out, wanting to go back there to tear their heads off.
Max calm down. I need you. Please, Just do it for me. I ran out all my rage and frustration until there was nothing left inside of me, only concern and uneasiness for the wellbeing of my mate and children.
I put new clothes on and went back toward my room. "Anything?" I asked when I saw them pacing around. "Nothing, but there is something going on." I didn't need to be told twice. I bolted toward the room and yanked the door open, rushing toward my mate.
Moments before.
Alexandra's POV
"Max." I moaned in pain as I moved my head to the side in distress. "Shh..You're going to be okay." He whispered in my ear as his fingers caressed my face slightly. "No. The babies are coming Max." I breathed out heavily as I licked my dry lips.
"I know. Everything is going to be okay." He kissed my forehead and interlaced our hands together. "Just stay awake." I gulped down breathlessly as I turned my head to look at him. "I'll try." I blinked my drooping eyes tiredly as the door opened, Lila walking through the door with a nurse alongside her.
"Maximinus. I came as soon as I could." She said putting her things on the nightstand. "I need to see if her cervix is fully dilated." Lila put her gloves on and kneeled in front of me, raising the nightgown until it reached my hips and took off my panties with a gasp. "This is not good."
When those words escaped Lila's mouth my whole world stopped, and my heart literally stopped beating. I squeezed Max hand as I turned my head to stare at him through my glossy eyes, my eyes clouded with fear.
Max squeezed my hand back in response as I turned my head back to Lila and asked her. "Is everything alright Lila? Please tell me!" Lila rubbed her forehead with a sigh. "The babies are okay, but we're dealing with a risky birth due to the baby the doctors didn't see before. Your cervix is more than dilated and you're already in the transition of giving birth. We can't move you to the emergency room."
I gritted my teeth together as I breathed in and out. "What is going to happen then? Please Lila. Do anything to save my baby girl please." Lila gave me a sympathy look and nodded. "I'll do my best. We don't have the right equipment here and there's a high risk of something to happen during the labor and we don't want that to happen."
"What do you mean you don't have the right equipment?" Max growled in frustration as he took a step toward Lila. "What are you doing here then? What will happen if something goes wrong? Huh? Tell me." I tugged at his hand to calm him down, but he didn't bulge.
"Max please." I started to get agitated as I tried to stop Max from advancing toward Lila. "It's not her fault. Things happen okay." I tried to reason with him but nothing. "Max. You're making her agitated. I think it's better for you to go out for a bit to calm yourself down."
"Like hell I will!" Max snarled at her beyond furious, his nails extending as he tried to grab Lila by her throat. They grabbed him just in time and pulled him out of the room. "How dare you kick me out Lila! You're forgetting who I am. When this is over, you and I are going to have a little chat." They closed the door in Max face and locked it.
"It's for the best." Lila said as she smiled sadly at me which I returned the same way. It's for the best. He needs to calm down first. "Are you feeling, okay?" I nodded my head as I continued to inhale and exhale calmly.
"Relax. Close your eyes and count to three." She got onto the bed and held my knees. "Okay, again." I tossed my head back as I inhaled and exhaled, the pain subsiding a little bit. "Do you feel the need to push?"
I shook my head at her and continued to do what she told me. I fisted my hands really tight and gritted my teeth as a contraction hit me. I grasped at my stomach as I brought my knees up, my arms hooking under them.
"I know it hurts sweetheart, but this need to be done."
"I know." I gasped again as I grunted in pain, leaning my head forward as I closed my eyes tightly. The sound of someone hitting the wall made both of us yelp and stared at the cracking wall in astonishment.
"What the hell was that?"
"More like who." I shook my head at Max poor ability to control himself. This is not going to help him get back in here. He needs to calm down. "I don't think kicking him out was a good idea."
"Don't worry, when you're ready he can come in." I nodded my head and continued with my respiration, in and out. I cringed again at the contraction. "Good. I can see the baby already. Keep going. Remember just relax."
"Okay I can do this." Please, just let my baby be okay. Max calm down. I need you. Please, Just do it for me. I cried out in pain as I grasped at my stomach that was moving around wildly. My insides were all over the place and I couldn't stop crying in pain.
"What is happening?" One of Lila's assistants asked with uneasiness in her voice, scared even. I arched my back as I grunted, my nails extending and my eyes turning into my wolf ones. She was helping me with some of the pain.
In that moment I couldn't help but let out a sob. I'll never leave you alone in this, you're part of me too, just like I'm part of you. The door burst open as Max rushed in toward me, cocooning me in his arms. "Shh....It's okay." I arched my back with a cry as one of my ribs popped.
"It hurts." I dug my extended nails into Max flash, running them down his back as my nails dripped with his blood. "I'm sorry." I cried out again in agony as another rib popped. "It's okay. You don't know how much I'm willing to let you do to take this pain away. It makes me feel so helpless looking at you, knowing I can't do anything to prevent it." Max choked out, fighting back tears and I felt so guilty that he was feeling helpless.
"Some pains are worth having." I choked out and closed my eyes briefly as he kissed my forehead. "Ouch!" The wild movements returned, and I couldn't stay still, I wanted to scream and push as hard as I could.
"It's impossible." Lila gasped jaw slacked as she stared at my stomach. "They can't move once they're in transition to come out." I panted heavily and cringed at the feeling. "Is something wrong?" I asked scared shitless, my heart squished at the thought of something being completely wrong with my babies.
"What do you mean impossible? It's not impossible if they're doing it." Max gritted out at the point of frustration as he squeezed my hand slightly and turned his attention back to Lila. "We don't know why they're doing it, It's just not normal." Lila responded back the same way. "We just need to wait and see." Lila returned her gaze to me and gave me a short smile. "If you feel the need to push, don't hold back okay?"
The movements started to die down until they didn't move anymore, and I was hit with the hardest contraction of them all that caught me off guard and everyone else. Before any of them could react, the baby was already halfway out.
"Push." Lila shouted at me as she held the upper body of the baby and I did what she told me, slumping back in Max arms as a full-blown cry clouded the room. Lila laid the baby on my chest, and I hugged my baby closer to my body, Max and I having a family moment with our first born child.
I sobbed out as I planted a kiss on my baby's head, turning my head to stare up at Max through my glossy eyes. He leaned his head on mine and looked into my eyes before covering my lips with his into a short but yet romantic kiss.
I pulled away with a sob and returned my gaze back to my baby and then back at Max. "It's a girl." We hugged each other carefully as we cried. Well, I did, but I could swear that I saw a teardrop falling out of Max eye. I'm not sure, he wiped it away before I could see it. Men.
"They saved her." Lila muttered still in disbelieve. "That's why they were moving." I cried out as I cuddled with my baby girl, Rebekah. "Do you want to make us the favor of cutting the cord father?"
Lila took the baby away from me and showed Max where he needs to cut it. When he did, the baby cried and he took her in his arms, cuddling with her. She was so tiny in Max arms. Just seeing the father and daughter moment made my heart swell with happiness and love.
"We need to check her for a moment." One of Lila's assistants said to Max and reached for the baby. Max nodded his head and planted a kiss on her rosy forehead, giving her to the assistant. "Rebekah." I stated to no one in general. They all turned to look at me waiting for me to continue. "Her name is Rebekah, Rebekah Mireya Arden." Max made his way toward me and pulled me into his arms.
Seeing Max cry was one in a million, now to see him weeping in my arms like a baby made my heart break. I cried with him until we both had no more tears left. "Thank you for doing this. It means so much to me." He wiped his tears with the back of his hand and planted a kiss in the palm of my hands. "I didn't lie when I say that you're the best thing that ever happened to me."
I was about to reply but was interrupted by another contraction. "We can talk later. The boys can't wait to get out." I grasped my stomach with a grunt as I squeezed with all my might. "Come on, it's almost over." I crushed Max hands as I pushed harder, breathing in between until I felt a relief and heard a full-blown cry. "It's a boy." Lila laid him the same way she did with Rebekah and gave Max and I a moment to see our child.
I cooed at him as I ran my finger tops across his face. "He looks just like you." I said as I stared at Max with a grin and then look back at my baby boy. "Handsome just like his father." Max beamed from ear to ear and I couldn't help but snort at him. "Don't get too cocky."
He rolled his eyes at me and pecked my lips then leaned down to kiss the baby's forehead. "Your mother is right. You're handsome like me. You're going to have all the ladies begging." I hit Max with my free elbow in his ribs and gave him the eye.
"Nothing. He's going to treat the ladies right and wait for his mate." I turned my attention back at my baby boy and cuddled with him. "Ready to cut the cord?" Lila did the same thing she did with my baby girl and gave him back to Max. "He's a little cutie." I smiled in agreement as I started at Max and Maximilian. "He's a daddy's boy I see."
"You have no idea. I wasn't lying when I said that they like him more than me." I shot Max a playfully glare which he returned with a cocky smile. "They know who their father is. It's just natural." He shrugged with a duh face and I wanted to hit him with something that's very painful. "Don't be jealous."
I snorted loudly and gasped as I grasped my stomach again. "We can fight later." I pointed at my stomach and started to inhale and exhale. Max gave Maximilian to the assistant and rushed to my side.
"One more and you're done." Lila said as she prepared herself. "Okay. In, out and then push." I inhaled and exhaling before pushing again. My hands clutching at my knees as I brought them closer to my head, leaning it down to push harder.
"I can see the head. Come on keep going." Black dots started to clear my vision as I started to lose my consciousness. Come on, You can't give up now. I leaned my head back down and rested it against Max chest. My head was spinning, and I couldn't keep my eyes close. "Alexa?"
"Babe. Open your eyes!" Max shook me slightly, grabbing my face in his hands. If only I could. I'm so tired. I just want to close my eyes for a bit. "Don't you dare faint on me. You didn't get through all this for nothing."
"I'm tired." I dizzily said as sweat dripped from my face, my body shutting down completely." I know but just push okay. You can sleep later I promise." Max kissed my sweaty forehead and squeezed my hand. "Do it for Aaron okay." He whispered in my ears and my mind went to my father.
"Princess what are you doing?" My eyes shot open, and I stared around in confusion. Where am I? "You're going to give up just like that?" My eyes widened as I stared at the figure walking toward me. "I never thought I would see this day coming. You were never a quitter before so why now?"
He touched my shoulder and stared deeply into my eyes. "Your baby needs you. His life depends on you now. Do you really want to live with the guilt that your son died because you were tired? Does that even make sense? You're a fighter, strong and powerful like me. We don't get tired. We get up and keep fighting."
I shot up from my deep slumber with a big push. "Poor thing, she's tired." I caught one of the assistants telling the other one and growled at them. "I'm not tired!" I fisted the sheets as I pushed with everything I had inside. "I'm not!" I gritted my teeth together as I grunted in pain. "I'm not going to give up now." I pressed my eyes closed as I pushed again, this time harder.
"You can do it babe."
"He's already out. Come on. Just one big push." I leaned forward and pushed as hard as I could with everything I had inside and slumped into Max arms when it was all over, waiting for a cry to cloud the room but it never came.
