Chapter 31

Monday came and they told him that he could go home later during the day. They had to do some final tests to make sure nothing was wrong with him. Now he was getting dressed with the help of his mum like he was a little kid again. The three of them in one room without yelling. It felt weird. He couldn't believe that he had taken that as his new normal.

He groaned absently.

"You okay honey?" her hands were on his arms. "Did I hurt you?" she was searching intently for any injuries she might have inflicted by accident.

"No you didn't. Sorry" he pulled his shirt down.

"I'm sure that you don't want to miss another day of school" dad was the one to say that. Things had been weird, but they got better when he and Beck got together. Then that argument. He was sure dad meant what he said as a joke, but he didn't hear it.

He just stretched his lips in something that resembled a smile.
