Chapter 58

Thomas opened his eyes like every other morning and it commenced with him looking at the ceiling for five minutes before he even thought of moving. He'd extend it to ten minutes since he could take it easy now. He had been working on a case which he had won…as expected. A loss was like a permanent scar on him. The only time he had lost was the first time he took a case and he vowed then, with blood escaping from a long line from his wrist to his elbow that he'd never lose again.

With him taking it easy for now so he wouldn't mess with his longevity he could focus on other things. Other things being Mathew. He curled on his side and placed an arm under his head. He had set things in motion before he had to step back. Beck had always been too nosy for his own good. He'd never admit it to himself, much less to Beck that he had lost. He had lost to his own son. Embarrassing and a massive blow to the ego.
