It had been a joke made by his best friend and that plunged him into a world that he couldn’t escape.

Matthew Henderson is dealing with his parents going through a hellish divorce, and with self-worth issues added to the mix he wanted to do something to help his dad who was doing everything he could for both of them. A tasteless joke by his friend, telling him to show off on camera set things in motion.

"Matthew" a firm and stern stopped him in his tracks. Oh goodness. This was what he had been avoiding for three days straight. Now his luck had run out. He could just continue. Like just walk up the stairs like she hadn't called him. She could follow him but she wouldn't enter his room. That was like his safe haven. She wouldn't dare cross. She hadn't since he came here.

So might as well get this over with. He turned to her trying to play it cool. "Yes".

She just gave him a look. 'Saying are you serious?'

"So should I ask if you were at school or somewhere else?"

"I was at school. There's no need to worry".

"No need to worry?" she retorted. "Are you seriously saying that?"

He wanted to say something but her face was doing something weird. She was scowling. He decided not to say anything. All on his own. Not like he was scared of her.
