The times that Elliot had called to tell her that Matt wasn't doing well had almost killed her. Getting the call from a practical stranger that Matthew was in the hospital, she had been so helpless. She had broken down and screamed. Matthew was far from her and hurt. And she couldn't do anything.

She had failed then. Not even Elliot could convince her different. She had been the one to drive him away. The one to put him in this situation.
