SAY YOUR GOODBYES

"What do you mean you think the baby is coming?" I asked still staring at Rissa who looked to be in shock as she cradled her pregnancy, "Rissa?" I dragged her name out.

I swear if this was just a ploy to get Isabelle to stop talking she was doing a great job even though it was too good of a job, maybe too good! I thought to myself as I continued staring at Rissa who still had a look of discomfort on her face.

Turning to look at Isabelle, I stepped forward. "All right, how about we all call it a night and…"

"Mom!" Isabelle's sharp cry cut me off.

I watched in horror as Rissa's knee buckled beneath her, a look of shock and pain flashing across her face. Instinct kicked in, and I lunged forward, managing to catch her just before she hit the floor. Panic gripped me as I held onto her, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on us.
