FALL FROM GRACE

RAVENNA POV

"No, no, no, no, please!" I muttered the word in desperation, my voice barely a whisper as I tried to hold on to the last shreds of my failing magic.

"Come on, come on!" I urged as I whispered into the light that was supposed to connect me to Arianne, I could almost reach her, almost, if my magic could hold on long enough. But it was no use. With a yell of frustration, I slammed back against the cold stone wall of the dungeon, tears gathering at the corners of my eyes.

The one person I thought was going to help me had dismissed me. My magic has opened long enough for me to reach Arianne and if she had just honed her senses she could have found me but she didn't. My magic too hasn't been strong enough to connect her to me.
