Chapter 33 "Is there something on my face?"

"Eunaa.. We have to go.." A distant hoarse voice of a man.. a blurry image of a man holding a woman in his arms flashed in Da-eun's mind..

"We'll be back.." Again a voice came with another blurry image.. but this time it was a little weak and soft.. it was a woman's voice..

"Don't worry, everything will be fine.. okay?" The voices came one after another.. they were talking to someone.. Da-eun tried to see but the image was too blurry for her to recognize who it was..

"And remember one thing we love you more than anything in this world.." When Da-eun heard this she felt like her eyes were burning.. and the tears started to fall out of her eyes that were still closed..

"Wait for us.." As they said this, they started to walk away.. a child started to run towards them with their hands stretched out.. trying to follow behind them..

"No.. mommy.. hic.. daddy.. don't go.. hic.. take me with you.. I.. sob.. don't want to be alone here… please.." Da-eun heard a little girls voice.. she was calling them in between her cries.. she was chasing after them.. but when she was about to get a hold, the doors closed.. and she was left behind.. alone..

The scene ended there.. with that Da-eun opened her eyes.. tears were still flowing out.. She wiped her tears and whispered "It's weird.. who was that girl and that couple? Why do I feel a connection to them? It felt so real.."

She shook her head and dismissed her thoughts about the scene.. 'It must be a dream..' she looked around her and saw that she was in her room.. she then looked out the window and her eyes squinted from the sunlight..

She removed the blanked and realized that she was still in her school uniform.. she shook her head and stood up to take a bath and change into something comfy..

Da-eun took a quick bath… changed into her pyjamas and walked out of the room to go and eat something as she felt hungry...

As soon as she arrived in the dining area, she saw Noah and her grandfather having lunch.. She looked at her grandfather who's attention was in eating his food, and a smile broke out on her face.. she knew that her grandfather was fond of delicacies.. and when he was presented with delicious food, he'd forget about everything around him..

Da-eun took a few light steps cautiously and wrapped her arms around grandfather.. "Grandpa.. I missed you so much.. when did you come back home?" She hugged him tightly..

Her grandfather, who was eating his food with much attention, got so surprised that he dropped him spoon.. "Girl.. you surprised me.. I missed you too.. okay.. okay.. now release me or how do you think I'd eat with you holding onto my neck so tightly.."

Da-eun heard her grandfather and rolled her eyes before removing her hands.. she then sat down in an empty chair right beside him..

She was about to ask Elio to get her food when she saw Elio walking towards her with a tray in his hands.. but when he looked at her he suddenly stopped in his tracks..

Elio felt conflicted in his heart and turned to look at Noah and saw him shaking his head.. Elio understood in heart 'Since young master doesn't want me to address the issue then I shouldn't do that.. I'll do as young master wants me to do and behave like nothing happened..'

Da-eun narrowed her eyes when she saw that Elio, who was bringing her food, suddenly stopped.. She asked him feeling confused "What happened Elio? Is something wrong?"

Elio shook his head abruptly and said "Nothing.. there's nothing wrong.. here.. enjoy you food young miss.." After saying that he placed the plate in front of her.. Da-eun nodded and thanked him.. she then raised her head to ask her grandfather about his journey and felt that something was wrong with him.. he kept staring at her.. she then turned her gaze towards Noah and realized that he was also staring at her..

Da-eun suddenly felt awkward.. 'first Elio and now these two'.. She finally asked "What? What's with you all? Why do you keep staring at me like that? Is there something on my face? I just took a bath.. although I was in a hurry to eat and forgot to look myself in the mirror, still I'm sure I washed my face.. so, there shouldn't be anything.."

She started rambling and touching her own face to feel if there was something on her face but found nothing… 'Earlier I was feeling hungry, so, I came in a hurry without even looking at my face.. maybe I should take a look now..' she then reached out her hand and took out her phone from her pocket to take a look at herself..

When she was about to take a look, she heard her grandfather say "There's nothing on your face.. we were just surprised to see that you woke up from your deep slumber.. and we were too stunned to say something and made you feel awkward.. we are really sorry… right Noah?"

Grandfather turned to look at Noah and winked.. Noah saw this and his eyebrows furrowed for a second before he turned to look at Da-eun with his usual serious face and said in his childlike but cold voice "Yes.. grandpa's right.. we are sorry to make you feel like that.."

Noah paused for a second before he gestured with his hand and said "Eat.. or it'll taste bad if turned cold.. we'll talk after that.."

Da-eun glanced at Noah before turning her gaze to her Grandfather.. she saw her grandfather's expression and felt that something was not right.. she wanted to ask about it but after giving it a thought decided against it.. 'I'll ask him after I eat or I'm gonna die from starvation..' she reminded herself and started eating..

Her Grandfather saw this and secretly heaved a sigh of relief in his heart 'We can only stop her once.. but what'd happen when she sees her current appearance after this? How am I gonna explain to her about it?'

Noah took one last glance at her before he resumed eating his lunch.. 'We can talk about it after lunch.. let her eat her food after all these days of deep sleep.. anyways.. this was bound to happen.. better sooner than later..'

Da-eun was oblivious to their inner thoughts.. she was still unaware of the changes that were bound to happen in her life as she ate her food happily..
