Lan Parents

"Are you okay?" Vionna asked Tania because she noticed her discomfort.

They were both standing in the kitchen with others roaming around getting one duty or the other done.

Tania flinched when Vionna's hand landed on her shoulder.

"Are you okay?" Vionna repeated with a look of worry and concern.

"Oh yeah, yeah I am." Tania replied with a smile that didn't seem much like a smile.

Of course Vionna knew she was lying. But she can't force her to speak up. "If there is anything bothering you, don't hesitate to share it with me alright."

"I sure will, thanks." Tania replied with a nod as she watched Vionna walk away.

She sighed out loudly. The memory of which she met Zeke in the kitchen popped up which made a small smile to appear on her face.

. . .

The Lan Mansion.

"I hear your son is back in the country."

"Yeah, I know. Your sister informed me last night but when I tried to call he was not picking up." Lara answered.

Lucas Lan slowly nodded.

"I hope you understand him by now. Look darling, I don't want him to be forced into anything please. Just let him be okay." Lara said trying to reason with him.

"It's okay. There is nothing to worry about." Lucas replied while sipping from his coffee. Of course he wouldn't like to upset his wife.

Lara gave a happy smile to her husband. "I miss him so much already."

"Mmmm." Lucas mumbled.

"Come on! you miss him too Don't you?." Lara gave a light hit on his thighs as she laughed out loud. Obviously Zeke's cheerful character was from her. He didn't only inherit her looks and trait but also her nature. Atleast he do knows how to speak Mandarin.

"I can't deny it, he is my son after all." Lucas replied, giving in to his wife.

"He is coming to see me today with Liam." Lara excitedly beamed.

"You? ugh, okay." Lucas replied covering his face with the coffee mug. But Lara still caught the disappointed look that flashed for a millisecond. He was fast in hiding his expression. Just like his nephew, Liam.

Lucas Lan loved his children, but it was always difficult to express it because of his aloof and strict nature. But it wasn't at all his fault, that's just the way he thought was the best for them to learn about life and also carry on the family's business and face the world.

Zeke was the last son of the Lan's, he has two elder brothers and an elder sister, who were all married to their spouses and had families of their own. Each one of them successful in their field of business.

Both the Liu's and the Lan's were prominent and reputable icons in the business world, and top in the country. Most fearful families in the country with huge connection and backgrounds to be precise.

"I can tell them to come during dinner time, that is if it's okay with you" Lara said twirling her fingers around her hair as she gauged his expression.

"The is no need for that. I will see him during the welcome party."

"You are gonna throw him a party?" Lara excitedly said, half yelling.

"Of course that's not my idea, it's Catherine's." Lucas stated plainly.

"Awwwn that's so sweet of her." Lara said knowingly. Of course she knows her husband very well.

"I'll be leaving then, I am almost late for work." Lucas said as he stood to the ground, placing his mug on the table.

Lara stood with him. She helped in adjusting his tie better. "My darling husband can't be late for work when he is the boss." Lara said with a smirk before pecking him on the lips.

"Good bye darling." She said playfully while turning him towards the door and bidding him.

"You will regret this." Lucas said before following his chauffeur out.

Lara only laughed at his words before climbing upstairs.

. . .

At the Liu Mansion,

Liam and Zeke were both seated in Liam bedroom when a knock was heard.

Liam continued on his phone like he didn't care about who or the reason why the was someone knocking at the door.

Zeke gave him a weird look with his eyebrow raised.

The knock echoed again.

"Bro? Ain't you going to atleast say come in?"

"Nah, it's not important." Liam replied.

And again, the was another knock.

This time Zeke stood up, dropping his video game and walking towards the door. He slowly pulled it open. Standing there was one of the maids he recognized earlier during breakfast, with a tray of light drinks and snacks with her.

"Young Master Lan." Vionna greeted with a slight bow.

"Come in." Zeke said as he widen the door for her to come in.

Vionna stepped in mouthing a "Thank you." To him with a smile.

Liam raised up his head. The moment he did, he caught the sight of Vionna smiling to Zeke. And Zeke reciprocating her smile too. "Who asked for a snack?" He coldly asked her.

"Ughhh no one I just thought I should..."

"I asked a simple question. Who asked for a snack?" Liam repeated, more coldly this time.

In span of seconds Vionna's mood changed. She brought her head a little low. "No one."

"Then get it out."

"What?" Vionna asked to confirm what she just heard.

"I said get it out." Liam said again.

"Bro?" Zeke called out not understanding what is wrong with bringing in some refreshments.

Immediately Liam aimed his gaze at Zeke. Zeke totally understand that look. It seems like Liam was angry or something, but what could make him angry just now. Or could it be that she had offended him some way?. Without interrupting Zeke nodded before looking back at Vionna who was definitely angry but doing well to hide her emotions.

"I will, I'm sorry." She said in a low tone before turning around and walking away with the tray in her hands. "I was just doing my job." She said out loud menacingly.

"Bro, what was that for." Zeke immediately questioned the moment Vionna left.

"Nothing important." Liam replied.

Zeke knew Liam isn't a man of many words so he instantly went with his response, not requesting any more.
