This can't Be Happening

Time ticked, it was just a couple of seconds but it felt like forever just staring into each other eyes, their heart beats in sync. The synchrony played a perfect beat in their hearts.

Vionna took a look down to her lips, She breathed out when she saw it was just his fingers on them and not his lips.

Though a pang of uncertainty lingered in her chest. She didn't know why. Was she really expecting him to kiss her? She flushed away such thoughts. But then why was she feeling so disappointed when it wasn't his lips on hers.

She was really starting to doubt herself, just when she built up that wall it was already on the brink of crumbling, just like that? No! this can't happen.

The next thing that got registered, Liam felt a mild push on his chest and he immediately stepping back aside.

Vionna wiped her lips clean with her own hands after she pushed him away from her. "I...I have to go now I'm really busy." She said before giving bow and on she went, out of the room almost half running.

Liam stood still on the ground with his eyes on the door which she had just left. An undescribable glint in his eyes but his expression remained as stoic as ever.

At the lobby leading it's way to the staircase, Vionna walked with jumbled thoughts in mind. Heedless of any destination, she just kept on walking forward, her dazed eyes saw nothing. She bumped into Mia and was startled by the hit.

"Ah... I'm..I'm so sorry." She mumbled while checking if she had caused any injury on Mia.

"It's okay." Mia replied rubbing her wrist which came in contact with Vionna when they bumped into each other.

"Oh, sorry." Vionna muttered looking guiltily at Mia's injured wrist.

"Don't worry I said it's alright, okay?"

Vionna mildly nodded, she couldn't stay any longer because her guilt was eating her up. She strode forward.

Mia hurriedly grabbed her by the hand when she noticed Vionna was about to leave. She held her and walked in front of her. "What's the matter Vionna?" She asked because earlier she noticed Vionna's mood and it wasn't the usual one. Therefore something must be definitely wrong.

Vionna looked towards Mia with clouded gaze.

Mia noticed the look of adversity in her earlier. She gently pulled her closer and asked again. "Is the anything wrong V?" She asked in a very calm and serene tone which caught Vionna's attention.

Vionna's mind was compressed, a debate of telling or not telling Mia was going on in her head. And she was not sure of what to do.

Instantly, she smiled, An obvious fake smile but she tried her Best. "Th....the is nothing to worry about Mia, I'm perfectly fine." She lied.

The look Mia had was enough to tell her that she does not believe what she just spouted.

Her smile frozed by that but what could she do? she can't possibly just tell her that she thinks she is developing feelings for their young master when it hasn't even been a month she arrived at the mansion.

The silence was deafening, Vionna could see the patient gaze of Mia waiting for an answer or explanation in her case.

Mia then looked back, behind Vionna, she had in mind that Vionna must have left from the Youngest Master bedroom, maybe that could be the problem? she inwardly asked herself.

Vionna noticed what was on Mia's mind. Just when Mia was about to open her lips to speak Vionna instantly cut her off.

"I'm just tired, nothing else I didn't know you care for me that much." Vionna said as she laughed, she enveloped Mia in a hug so she could hide her expression to avoid any suspicions from Mia.

Mia who couldn't see Vionna's face, instantly relaxed at her laugh, She pulled away and asked her. "Are you sure? if you are then rest."

"I sure will ma'am" Vionna said with playful salute.

"I'm busy now I will see you later, be careful next time." Mia said as she shook her head at Vionna's stunt before she left.

"Alright." Vionna replied as she watched Mia stepped into the direction of room she just rushed out from. "Mia?" She called out.

"Yes?" Mia turned towards her.

"Are you going to find the Young Master?"

"Yeah, Master Liu sent for him. Is the any problem?" Mia replied.

"No no go on." Vionna muttered with a smile.

After Mia was gone from sight, Vionna released a sad sigh, she glanced one last time at that direction then she turn around and continued her slow steps.
