Chapter 128
little Jane looked up at Christopher with all the smile she could muster
she took out iPad and typed on it
"good morning Daddy" she showed it to him
Christopher didn't know how to react to her so he just smiled back at her, her smile was contagious anyways
Jane looked at Chris trying to tell him something but unfortunately he wasn't looking her way, she tried severally all to no avail
she finally decided to go to him, she moved closer to him and whispered in his ears
"you are supposed to reply her then carry her, it shows that you care" Jane said
"but I don't" he whispered
"then pretend you do, you can't hurt the little girl's feeling just like that, remember what you promised me last night" Jane argued
Chris felt like he was at a cross road, he suddenly felt controlled if it were to be someone else, he would have ask the person to go to hell by now
everyone wondered what was going on, they could read both of them expression they seems to be fighting about something
"alright fine" Chris sucumbed
Chris reached out to little Jane, "come here" that was all he could manage to say, Jane wanted to laugh at him but she kept the urge
little Jane was elated, she felt appreciated and accepted, she was beaming with happiness
"how are you, did you sleep well?" Chris finally managed to say
Angel felt happy to see Chris getting close to the girl like that, but she doesn't like the fact that it was that maid that convinced him to do it, she could read their expression and she was sure it was the case
Jane smiled at Chris in appreciation, he did well, Chris could no longer handle the sweetness and the mood, it was too emotional for his liking
he saw little Chris looking up at him " how are you champ?" he greeted him
"fine daddy" Chris greeted back, he then went ahead to greet every other person while little Jane stayed beside Jane
"good morning grandma, good morning grandpa, good morning ma'am" he greeted Rebecca, Williams and Maria
"how are you my boy?" Rebecca patted his head
"how are you champ?" Williams asked him
"I'm fine" he answered he then went ahead to greet Mike but didn't greet Patricia and Angel he doesn't like them at all
"come on my darling princess won't you say hello to mummy?" Angel said wearing her fake smile
little Jane didn't have a choice than to oblige she didn't want to be scolded afterwards
she went to her, Angel hugged her pretending to be a loving mother
she pecked her cheek, Jane wanted to return to her former position but Angel pinched her at her back gesturing for her not to leave
"we should get going already" Angel said diverting everyone's attention from little Jane but Jane didn't fall for it, she saw little Jane's expression she looked like she was going to cry
and then she noticed Angel's hand movement, she detected what was going on and she frowned
' which kind of a mother does this to their own child ' she thought
she went to Grace trying to help the little girl
she whispered into her ears and Grace nodded
she didn't plan to go to the hospital but now she doesn't have a choice
"I will be going with my brother to the hospital I need to get something later this morning" she said, she didn't want her mother to know she was going shopping with Jane, she would create a scene out of it
"I will take my car, little Jane would you like to ride with me?" she asked and without hesitation, the little girl immediately she got the chance and went ahead
"is that a yes?" she asked her and Jane nodded, she would do anything to get away from Angel
Jane and Grace gave each other a knowing look
"Jane please come with me as well I can't look after her all by myself for so long you are experienced already, I hope my brother doesn't mind right?" Grace said giving Chris a pleading look
"it's fine, she will be heading over to the company in the afternoon anyways" Chris said pretending not to care even though he was dying to have her sit in his car and kiss her till she was breathless
"fine so let's going then" she said and made way to go into the car but she couldn't proceed she saw little Chris's face, he looked really sad, same with little Jane she looked sad as well
"Chris would you come with us as well?" Grace asked
"yes aunt" he answered immediately as if already expecting the question
"Grace please stop this nonsense don't make this people forget their place for goodness sake, now you want to take the boy with you as what and for what exactly" Maria wined
"mom please don't add to my already bad mood, there's nothing wrong with what I'm doing, I'm an adult and I can go as I please" Grace said and got into the car
the children followed her, Jane handed Chris's suitcase to Jack, she then got into the car with Grace
Chris also got into the car alongside his father and grandmother, Maria was not going with them
Mike and Patricia also got into their car, Angel had thought she would be going with Chris but he didn't look at her side
"Angel you should ride with us" Patrica suggested
"yes sure my dad took his car back with him yesterday, I will have someone pick up later at the hospital" she said and got into the car
