Chapter 190

The next day Grace opened her eyes and found herself in the car, she checked her wristwatch for the time and it was past seven in the morning, it was still quite early, she needed to get home and pick out new clothes for her brother and Jane, she also needs to see to it that the kids are also doing well, she needs to also tell her parents about what is going on, she needs to know.

But the truth is that she does not feel like going into the hospital; she cannot afford to see Mike early this morning; that's the last thing that she wants right now, but she can't keep hiding forever.

She got out of the car and made her way to the VIP ward where Jane was being admitted, immediately she got to the entrance she sensed that something was wrong, and she didn't like that feeling that she was getting

She could see her brother outside the ward, peeping from the glass; he seemed to be crying.

"Chris what's going on?" she asked him, Chris faced her and he was looking like a shadow of himself, it was obvious that he hadn't slept all through the night and that was not in any way a good thing at all

"she had a heart attack this morning, Mike has been there since morning doing God knows what and he's not saying anything to me, I promised to take care of her but she's laying in there looking all lifeless" he explained to her crying

"don't worry brother she will be fine, you just need to have faith in her she's a really strong girl and she will make it out of all of this," she said as she patted his back

Grace could see Mike through the glass, and her mind traveled down memory lane as to what happened last night; she shook her head, trying to focus on the present situation; she should not be thinking of such things at that moment; she needed to focus on Jane and her brother.

About thirty minutes later, Mike came out of the ward, and some nurses

"what's going on? he asked him

"she was lucky, what happened now isn't an easy thing but she survived it but unfortunately she fell into a coma" Mike explained

"what!" both Grace and Chris exclaimed

"but you have nothing to worry about, she's under close observation and we are seeing to it that she wakes up, you don't have to be worried

"alright thanks can I go and see her now?" he asked

"yes sure, you can go right in," he said and made way for him to go through but he tried to stop Grace from going in

"hey Grace about yesterday" he started to speak but Grace cut him off, she was in no mood to speak with him

"Dr Mike my brother needs me right now, this is the last thing that I should be doing right now," she said and left him standing there

Mike knew that she was still very upset with him, but he knew what she said was right; Chris and Jane needed them right now, and he should give her time before speaking to her about their issues.

Grace made her way out of the ward, she needed to get home and change into new clothes, the kids must be getting prepared to go to school at the moment, so she should hurry if she wants to meet up with them

She had already taken her phone and bag and on her way, she took a look to see if she had any missed calls, but there were none, nobody had noticed her absence then

She browsed through social media as she kept walking to her car and what she saw left her shocked, the video of where her brother crying when Jane was shot was all over the internet, and the whole country was talking about it, she was sure that her parents must have known what's going on by now.

She quickly made her way home, she got home and she could hear the commotion right from the door

"where in the world is my son, I'm going to kill that crazy maid when I see her" Maria was the one shouting at the top of her voice

Immediately everyone saw Grace they went quiet, Maria had asked that Grace be brought down but she was nowhere to be found, she presumed that she must have heard about what happened and gone to see that maid

"Grace where's your brother, and where's that stupid maid of his, look at the nonsense that the media is saying that my son is in a relationship with that maid?" she complained

"Mom can you just stop, the poor girl was shot and this is the only thing that you can say, what if it was Chris or me that was shot, or what if it was Kyle would you be saying this right now?" she scolded her mom

"and Chris is an adult he can decide for himself who he wants to be with," she said and glanced through the room to see if Thelma was there but she didn't see him

"Estella where's Thelma?" she asked her

"she has taken the kids to school," Estella said

"okay fine, that's good, Estella please come with me with one other person I need to help my brother and Jane pack new clothes, they need them," she said and made her way upstairs

"Grace, what's the situation?" Williams spoke, he's aware of the brewing love between those two and he was sure that Chris must be really worried

"Jane was shot close to her heart, she had a heart attack this morning and she has slipped into a coma" she explained

"and your brother?" he asked

"he's devasted," she said and walked upstairs.
