Chapter 2 Room 1

Danger!

Two large bold red characters appeared on the protective goggles, causing Li Zheng to break into a cold sweat.

"This... A randomly selected room actually shows danger?!"

Li Zheng took a few steps back, distancing himself from the door, feeling somewhat relieved.

"Luckily, luckily I hadn't swiped my card at the door yet, otherwise I would have had to brace myself and go in."

Right: Safe (displayed in green)

Back: Safe (displayed in Deep Blue)

Above: Dangerous (displayed in orange-red)

Ground: Dangerous (displayed in red)

"Empty? Does it mean there's nothing in this room?"

Li Zheng glanced at the left side, no longer concerned, "But what does this color signify?"

Two safe rooms, one displayed in green, the other in Deep Blue.

Besides these, there were two dangerous rooms, displayed in different colors as well.

"Orange-red and red can be understood, perhaps it's a different level of danger, but safe rooms... In games I've played before, blue is always better than green. But will that be the case here?"

Li Zheng didn't dwell on it much and chose the green safe room to swipe his card. "Why not explore, and find out?"

The items spawned by the cheat probably wouldn't lead me to a dead end, right?

A sound like a hydraulic press echoed as the metal door slowly opened, revealing a laser-like thin film behind it.

The film wasn't transparent, so Li Zheng couldn't observe the specifics of the next room.

To be cautious, Li Zheng first searched on the ground for two stones of grey quality, one large and one small, and held them in his hand.

"Let's check the path first."

Li Zheng came to the film, threw the small stone in his hand, and it directly passed through.

He listened for a moment, but not a single sound came through.

"Tch, it even isolates sound?"

Li Zheng pouted; it seemed that even if someone tried to probe like he did, they couldn't judge the presence of danger in the room through this method.

After all, not everyone has a Detector like this treasure.

"Next..."

Li Zheng's eyes focused for a moment, reached his hand through the film, and twisted it around, moving freely.

Nodding, Li Zheng withdrew his hand from the film; his palm remained intact, and the process was unobstructed.

"Looks like as long as a person hasn't fully passed through, they can still turn back?"

Li Zheng went to swipe at the card reader of another door, but there was no reaction.

With that, Li Zheng finished all his probing and came to the film, passing through it entirely.

Crossing through the film was like passing through a beam of light, and the color of the film fully covered his vision. Li Zheng remained alert, leaving one foot behind.

Widening his eyes, confirming that even the last test couldn't reveal the next room's contents, Li Zheng finally gave up entirely and passed through the film fully.

Once he completely passed through the film, all the light vanished, revealing the appearance of the room.

Li Zheng did not look much, quickly turning around wanting to go back, but he bumped into the film he had previously passed through with ease.

Immediately after, a prompt appeared before his eyes:

"Heh."

Li Zheng didn't mind, rubbing his nose that hurt from the bump, he chuckled to himself and said, "It's indeed rigorous, leaving no loopholes at all."

Turning back around, a room full of technological feel unfolded before him.

This room resembled a capsule residence, with walls fully covered by metal, embedded with unknown instruments, and various indicator lights flickering, seemingly still operational.

The main light sources came from wall and ceiling and floor-mounted embedded soft lights, covered with a material like plexiglass, not transparent, giving off a very soft light.

This is also why Li Zheng could quickly adapt when coming from a relatively black room.

The floor was spacious and clean, and Li Zheng found the stones he had thrown in earlier weren't in this room.

"It seems to prevent Players from using the strategy of 'attacking east to create a distraction' to divert any potential danger in the room?"

Li Zheng instantly realized the purpose of this setup.

He kept this in mind and continued to observe the room.

Most of the instruments in the empty room didn't even have system prompts, like useless decorations in the scene.

However, in the center of the room, there were two instruments with some system prompts.

[Scientific Terminal, if you are attentive enough, you might find something from this machine.]

Supply Storage Container, though called a "container", looked more like a fridge.

The Scientific Terminal was rather unique.

It's just a metal column topped with a touch screen computer, occasionally flashing the light of an indicator to assert its presence.

After scanning the entire room and confirming that neither the system nor the Detector revealed more information, Li Zheng went over to the "fridge".

Upon opening it, there was only a ten-centimeter-long, two-centimeter-wide, and one-centimeter-thick strip-like object inside.
