Chapter 78

Luke entered his grandfather's home, expecting the worst. All the old man's men were still there as if he was in charge and looking at Luke like he was a suspect. His grandfather wasn't the most caring man and just being there made him feel as if the bile was rising in his throat. Or maybe that was the stench of rotting garbage and body odor. Probably both. Once Luke's grandmother died, Don Lucius Gambino, lost his will to live. Named after his grandfather, Luke loved him, but the old man made it almost impossible to do so.

"The Don is in the living room. You can go in now," said a gruff man with a little too much of a mustache who was guarding the door.

His dark sunglasses looked absurd when it was past dark now outside making Luke a tad suspicious. Something about him was off and he wasn't a guard or one of his grandfather's men that he remembered.
