As Roman walked up to his parent's home, his mother stood at the top of the steps with a comforting smile. He was struggling and only a loving mother could see that.

"So, the parodical child returns once more."

"Are we still doing this little dance? Where is the part of you telling me you're resurrected from the dead? My return has saved you from death and all that drama."

Stepping from the porch, Sophia took Roman's head in her hands. "I figured you could use a break. It's for the best, Son. She'll forgive you."

"Leaving Poppy in Chicago alone. That's what's best? Momma, I love her. Every day that passes without her in my arms is like a part of me is missing."

"That's what love is." Hugging her son, Roman collapsed into the warmth of his mother's arms. "You want her as your bride?"
