chaos ?

Caelus knew she was trouble, chaos really ,but it was her smile that dared him to follow her that morning. And he hadn't expected to see the kind, loose curled girl he'd met just a week ago , possess something so spectacular, magic itself wasn't rare but everyone had at least a bit of it. However her level of magic could earn her a spot at the academy which was a hard feat for many . She'd been on his mind like a drug all night, her piercing eyes and knowing grin . She smelled of secrets and there was So much that he wanted to know .It bothered him how a girl with such a pretty smile had such hurricane filled eyes. He knew he shouldn't care and quiet frankly it was none of his business. But she had said something.

" we're both broken kids". He muttered it aloud trying to understand her words all while wondering how she was broken . Coincidentally his train of thought was interrupting by the very girl on his mind. Speak of the devil.

A dark eyed Taylor appeared through the bushes in her eyes a white rabbit in her arms. It's curious noise twitched as she bent down to pet it brushing her fingertips gently against the crown of its nose. She then handed it a carrot before continuing to climb up hill towards a cliff , at the edge of the forest. He watched with intrigue as she passed him not even aware of his presence. He had wanted to wait it out some more but as he perched on the tree branch, his eyes widened in fear as he spotted a large bug crawling towards him. A shiver surged through his body, and he scrambled to move away from the insect, his movements were clumsy and frantic and In his haste, he lost his balance, and with a grunt, he tumbled from the branch, crashing to the ground below. Luckily he was a pro in acting 'casual' and played it of by giving the girl in from of him an easy smile. She stared at him blankly her body stiffening as her eyes widened in shock.

Thirty minutes later he was covered in dirt. It turns out digging was much harder than he thought. Taylor was one of the strangest girls he had ever met she never spoke more than a few words to him and always seemed in a hurry to get away from him. He smirked something about her drew him to her and he hadn't had some fun in a long while. His eyes burned lighting a deep Scarlett red which and he quickly turned his head towards the sky clenching his jaw.

"So.." he drawled, an unspoken question planted on his tongue. He glanced towards stunned to see she had already started backing away . Her eyes trembled with uncertainty before she started to briskly climb down the small cliff incline towards the woods. The shadow of the trees danced across her skin and she looked back yelling something that became scrambled in the wind.

"If we meet again.... promise " that all he heard . 'If we meet again' he thought . A huge grinned spread across his face as he looked at her fading figure. We'll definitely meet again.

A whisper of wind blew across his face and his features immediately tenses . He sighed inwardly and without turning Said, " come out ". His voice was harsh and unusual cold , very far from the soft tone he had used with Taylor.

A thud sounded behind him

" young master your father calls".

Two weeks later

The quaint town of Willowbrook nestled between rolling hills and a peaceful river, radiating an air of tranquillity that was as familiar as an old friend. Its cobblestone streets and charming cottages evoked a sense of timeless nostalgia. On this particular morning, as the sun's rays gently embraced the town, the vibrant atmosphere belied the impending chaos.

Amidst the brewing storm Caelus strolled along a cobblestone path, his mischievous grin as noticeable as his long coal hair framed his face. His presence exuded an energy that couldn't be ignored. And, as fate would have it, he was about to cross paths with the very person who wished never to see him again.

Taylor, her honey-brown hair cascaded down her shoulders, and she grimaced carrying an air of determination as she walked along the town path. not too long ago, she had whispered a fervent wish to the universe that she'd never have to encounter Caelus again. Yet, her gut was telling her the universe seemed to have a different plan in store for her.

She held her brothers hands as she strolled through the market place reciting her shopping list over and over, ensuring she hadn't missed anything.

"Who's he" , her brother whispered in her ear and she lifted her eyes in the direction he pointed. No no no . As their eyes met across the town square, a mixture of disbelief and exasperation filled Taylor's heart. She had hoped, so very fervently, to avoid any future interactions with Caelus her lips tightened as she reminded herself of her earlier plea. 'Oh heavenly mother whyyyyyy' she screamed to herself.

"Go to Mrs barns store and get the brown eggs in the right corner" She told her brother. He looked at her surprised that she actually trusted him with the shopping. He was infamous in town for for his knack for mischief and penchant for teasing but Taylor was desperate and she definitely did not want her brother meeting him.

Her brother left his face gleaming and she knew she was going to regret that decision .

Caelus, however, seemed completely unfazed by their unexpected reunion and her quick dismissal of her brother. With a roguish twinkle in his eye, he approached her in a carefree Manor.

"Well, well, if it isn't the one and only Taylor," he said, his tone laced with amusement. "Fancy meeting you here, of all places."

Taylor's response was a curt nod, her lips pressing into a thin line. she had a sneaking suspicion it wasn't a coincidence and was determined not to let his presence rattle her.

Before their conversation could proceed any further, a commotion erupted a few paces away. Market stalls tumbled over products flying away in the wind, a cart of apples scattered, and a flock of pigeons took flight, startled by the sudden noise. A mischievous, brown hair boy darted through the turmoil, laughing in pure delight.

" I am going to kill him ", she murmured Cursing under her breath. As the scene unfolded, Caelus and Taylor exchanged incredulous glances before breaking into reluctant laughter. Amid the laughter, Caelus leaned in and whispered,

" You know Taylor I think you owe me a promise"

Rolling her eyes, Taylor couldn't help but chuckle at the irony. Maybe, just maybe, fate was telling her something .

"i do " she grimaced

the townspeople worked to restore order amidst the chaos, Caelus and Taylor finding themselves being swept in the storm as several angry store owners chased her brother down the cobbled road. She groaned .

" you're helping me get him", she gritted out through her clenched jaw as she gripped his arm and ran towards the crowd.

"It looks like I'm always helping you" he muttered his lips tugging up in a rueful smile as he allowed her to drag him along.
